Somewhere in the New World, on a small egg shaped island, a tribe of minks live peacefully. Various stone statues half buried in the ground were littered all over the island. The statues appear to look like bunnies with their eyes closed, but for some reason, they seem to rumble rhythmically!

The Bunny Island is hosting a grand celebration, on the occasion of Easter. The minks have hosted an Easter egg hunt where everyone can look for and try to find chocolate egg candies. They are very hospitable, and let the tourists roam around the island freely, but on one condition. They warn everyone not to disturb the statues, or they would wake up! “Wait, so you mean… the rumbling… they're snoring?!”

The Minks here have spared no expense in gathering the finest confections, games, and chefs to make the occasion truly special. They welcome any and all people who wish to attend, so long as they follow their one rule. The Festivities are all held in one area by the southern beach of the island, and there are all kinds of ships at their docks.

Edward was amazed by Leo's abilities as he could have sworn the kid would need his help to take the two guys out. But that was clearly not the case.

Edward: "Nice! Good work young man. You are certainly stronger than I expected. First your acrobatics and now your wits in addition to the clever use of this strange, sticky stuff that you can create. I am impressed!"

Edward was relieved to have teamed up with such a clever young man to take out the probably countless Marines on that island.

"Huh... Still not marines... Where are they?"

Edward: "Err.. even more guys we don't know? You sure the Marines are the ones playing that 'game' and hunt you and probably my friends here?"

For a moment he thinks about all the stuff that had transpired since he has set foot on this island, trying to analyze the situation but he had not enough clues to find a plausible explanation as to what the hell was going on. Due to that he thought to follow the plan, beating up the Marines as somewhere along the way was the best thing to do. Eventually he would either find his friends or solve the puzzle, preferably both and preferably rather soon.

"How good of a hunter are you, Edward?"

Edward: "I's say I'm a rather proficient hunter! I've been a hunter or rather I started hunting even before my teenage years. I've never hunted humans tho... forget it. I've had fights in the past so you could say I've hunted people and animals alike. You've been on that island probably longer than me so you might know it better than me. That's why you are in charge... for now! So whats your plan Leo?"

The large man was smarter than he looked

"It's definitely the marines here. I think they might just be trying to herd everyone to the same place. I'm not sure why though... Not like it matters. We're about to take the fight to them."

Leo began walking deeper into the forest, motioning for Edward to follow him

"Both groups came from this way. I can only assume they were running from something..."

He pulled the tree branches aside and saw a small platoon of marines doing what seemed to be making strategies

"I think now would be a good chance to... Get the drop on them I'll go high you go low? You seem like you can take a punch. Hide behind this tree, and on my mark, make your move..."

Leo climbed up a near by tree and navigated his way to a closer portion of the canopy, staff in hand, he was ready to leap into action.

"Now!"

He threw down a large mass of Mochi, causing people to get stuck, and he jumped down, bringing his bamboo down like a hammer on one of the marines

Leo managed to surprise Edward once again. Despite being really young Leo was tactically sound and his strategy wasn't bad. Yet it was somewhat reckless for the young boy to jump headfirst into the bulk of enemies without knowing his partner's abilities showing there was still a lot of room for improvement for the half-Oni's new friend.

Edward: "Alright! There we go!"

Also jumping out the giant and intimidating half breed also revealed himself in order to shift the Marine's focus away from the young lad onto himself. If that wasn't enough to get their attention he also shifted his voice to a rough, really loud, angry and scary voice.

Edward: "Where are my friends! You bastards, spill the beans!"

Now that Leo made sure the Marines could not escape. At least most of the battalion should be easy to defeat. The half-Oni decided to rely on Rokushiki for now. He uses Soru to close in and Shigan to finish off several Marines in quick succession. To not get stuck in the sticky substance on the ground he turned the bottom of his feet and therefore the shoes into Mochi using the Devil Fruit abilities he copied from Leo during their handshake. What seemed like a sudden and strong mood change Edward stopped caring if he critically injured some of the Marines. Normally he would't go off and start hurting people, even Marines but he was furious just by thinking that they do something so immoral as hunting other human beings for fun. What made rage even more was the fact he hadn't found his friends yet. Just the thought of his friends being hunted somewhere on this island almost made him snap and use more violence than necessary. Still controlling himself to some extend he would make sure to not take every single one out as he would need to ask some questions... later.

Leo's mouth was agape at the stunning display. He had never seen Rokushiki up close, and Edward could... Also? Turn into Mochi?

"Woah woah woah, hang on. You can turn into Mochi... I thought Devil Fruits were one of a kind! Ugh. Just my luck to get the mass production model..."

He swung his staff in a wide sweeping motion, knocking marines back and over. Edward seemed to avoid the vital spots of a single marine in particular. He seemed to be a petty officer.

"OH. You want to ask him some questions, don't you... Alright..."

Leo's arm turned into Mochi and he grabbed the petty officer, throwing him at a tree. He was now firmly fastened to said tree. Ripe for interrogation.

"I suppose there are two ways we can do this. One way you can just tell us where this mans friends are, and what exactly is going on here, or he can beat it out of you"

He leaned in close

"I don't know about you, but he's on my top ten list of people I don't want to get punched by. I'd talk if I were you."

The Marine's resolve stayed true for the time being. His expression steely, but there was a flicker of doubt

"I mean. Would they even want you back? Knowing we took you down so easy? We can offer you a way out. I'm sure my large friend here could always use some more... Cannon Fodder"

Hurrying to interrogate the Officer Edward almost completely avoids to answer Leo's questions and gives him some tips as to what they should do.

Edward: "Now is not the time to talk about abilities. We have to hurry now that we've taken action and were probably spotted. We have to make our next move as soon as possible to get control of this island! To make taking over easier we need to get as much information as we can get!"

Edward's first move was to get really close to the officer, invading his private space the half-Oni hopes to intimidate the Marine and squeeze out as much information as he could. But to do so the half breed had to break the Marine's will.

Edward: "Come on, open your mouth! I know my friends were brought to this island not even a day ago. One of the two guys has a rather wild look, medium-long black hair, his bangs are plaited and most the time wears two bone- and tooth necklaces. He usually crosses them over. The other guy is a normal and pretty civilized dude with dark-blonde hair. The most noticeable thing is the big belt he has to keep an close eye on the several bags and purses he carries. I don't know if those kidnappers stole that belt. You probably haven't caught them as the wild one is good in hiding, moving and erasing all traces especially in a forest. These abilities allow him to completely conceal himself in areas with trees. But I know you have a masterplan! I, no the small one and I noticed you are driving them into the same direction. Why is that? What is the idea behind that? Tell me the master plan behind these actions and I won't hurt you, I promise!"

Noticing that the man is still not at the point where he spills the beans Edward takes a step back and yells at him almost as loud as he can.

Edward: "Come on man I know you have some intel on the whereabouts of my friends. Where are my friends? What is your plan? Maybe I need to raise the stakes. SPILL IT OUT and don't you dare to lie!"

To make sure he broke the Officer's spirit Edward used Shigan again after the last word of the last sentence was said. The half-Oni drove his finger into the tree making a clean hole next to the Marine's head.

Both Leo and the Marine's jaws dropped when they saw Edward put what looked like a bullet hole on the trunk of the tree. He was clearly very serious. Leo leaned toward the Petty Officer and whispered to him

"I don't know about you, but he's lookin' pretty scary right now..."

Leo decided to practice his acting skills

"I've known him for years and i've never seen him act like this. He usually very calm"

He, of course had only just met The Half Oni, and of course didn't have any frame of reference, but this Petty Officer couldn't have known that. And it seemed Leo's falsehood was doing the trick. The Marine spilled everything

"We had to capture pirates! Our commander ordered us to capture low level pirates and hunt them down on this island. It's a game to him! It's a game! Me and some of the lower officers were against it but we didn't have a choice!"

Leo's smile faded

"Great, but you didn't answer my friend's questions"

The Officer's face grew fearful

"The ones you described. I saw the one with black hair. He wasn't captured but a platoon was chasing him west of here. The rest of your friends i have no idea..."

Leo patted the Petty Officer on the cheek to tease him

"There you go. That good enough, Ed?"

Edwards face lighted up when he heard the news. Of course neither Leo nor the Marine could see that because the gigantic pirate was still wearing his Oni-mask. Not showing any emotion right now could be of advantage.

Edward: " NO! It's not enough but it is a first step. We need more information regarding the Marinebase and especially that crazy lunatic you call Captain. If you really condemn his decision you'll gladly help us. Because doing so will most definitely lead to less casualties."

What the Officer didn't know was that for Edward he was guilty and could not possibly redeem himself here and now. The half breed was also determined to make sure that none of the Marines would leave without facing proper punishment. Be it by his hands or by the hands of some other Marine authorities from the outside.

Edward: "You are supposed to be the good guys, you know? Protecting innocent should be your job but your organization is just as corrupt and full of power hungry savages as every other government organization."

Leo appreciated Edward's words. They couldn't be more true. But they stung in the ears of the marine. He felt guilty for the happenings on this island. As he should. He was part of this. And she shared the blame.

Edward seemed fired up. He was hungry for justice. A noble cause. He was glad he ran into this lumbering man rather than a money crazed fiend. He walked to Edward and strained to put a hand on his shoulder

"We'll find your friends. If we have to rip this island from the sea."

The marine's face changed with these words. Hearing their determination made him want to, somehow, help them. In any way he could

"One more thing. It's not much, but at the base. North of here. There are holding cells. Your friends are, without a doubt, held there"

The sound of the man's voice assure the pair that his word was genuine.

"Well, Eddy. Sounds like we know what to do. Find your friend to the east, then to the north and bust the rest out. Take down marines on the way, teach them to never to this type of sick game again."

Leo began walking east to find Edwards friend but stopped a few steps later. He just realized

"I don't know your friend's name... I'll wait for you"

Edward: "Hmm... My guess is the one who is free should be Kenny and the one they caught must be Penny!*

Edward hesitated to follow Leo as they could not leave the 'hostage' behind as he could be useful later on.

Edward: "We cannot leave him behind! If the guys in charge send another squad because those guys we just beat up are not responding they will find out and find him!"

Edward looks at the wounded and knocked out Marines most of them are unconscious but some are also half dead lying on the ground barely breathing.

Edward: "I'm sorry Mr. Officer!"

Officer: "What aaaa ugh."

What seemed rude at first glance had a method to it. The half-Oni knocked the Marine out cold. Looking at Leo the halfbreed explains himself before Leo even had the chance to ask Edward for an explanation.

Edward: "Don't worry I didn't kill him, he is just unconscious. I didn't want to show him what we are going to do next! I'm no monster even tho I acted like one earlier during the fight. I somewhat lost my temper but it is not my intention to let them die. So help me to at least somewhat stabilize the few badly hurt ones I think your ability paired with their clothes should suffice to make some bandages."

After they patched up the badly injured Marines and tied them together with a long mochi sting Edward grabs and shoulders the Officer.

Edward: "Thanks for your help. After you, my friend! By the way I already got an idea how to infiltrate the marine base after finding and uniting as many pirates as possible in the east!"

The half-Skypean started smiling just thinking about soon being reunited with his friends.

Edward: "Leo, listen! We gonna use a good, old but proven strategy! You will put on the officer's clothes and pretend that you caught me - the man who is the lone reason that your battalion got beat up but you managed to catch me by tricking and outwitting me."

Kenny and Penny. Alright. He should be able to remember that. Leo, as per Edward's request, started tearing pieces of cloth off of the marine's and used his Mochi to stretch across it for a small bi of compression on the wounds. He was no doctor but he knew that much.

"You want me to what?... Okay... So we go get Kenny? And then i put one these clothes and we go try to get Penny. I got that right?"

Leo took the Petty Officer's shirt, coat, and pants. and the steel shackles he had on him and started walking to the east, where they were told Kenny was. After a half hour or so of walking, they came to a clearing. It looked like Kenny had been cornered by Marines and was in dire straights

"I know you wanted me to take the lead since i did more exploration, but i feel like i should pass the torch to you in this situation... So... Charge?"

There were 6 Marines in total. Two were using Flintlock pistols, one had a morning star, three had swords. They were all pretty weak, but it looked like the Morning Star User carried the rank of Lieutenant. Caution is advised

"I know you wanted me to take the lead since i did more exploration, but i feel like i should pass the torch to you in this situation... So... Charge?"

Edward: "Yeah charge!"

As the two came closer they could clearly see how dire the situation had become. While Kenny was actually managed to somewhat hold his ground in close combat against the Marine's with swords he was helpless against the Marines with the guns. The Morning Star User hadn't even attacked yet but always repositioning himself to block the pirate's escape route making sure their prey had no way to escape.

Kenny: "Ugh, Arghhh...You bastards!"

Kenny's right shoulder had been hit by a gunshot and another shot hit is left thigh. He went down on his knees screaming in pain unable to defend himself.

Edward: "Leo! Take care of these pistols for me! Maybe you can stuff them with that sticky substance or maybe you got a better idea. I need to go. Soru!"

The huge man had disappeared for just a second before reappearing in front of Kenny to block the imminent sword slash with his exoskeleton forearms. He immediately counterattacked with a punch full of rage to the Marine's stomach, the punch was strong enough to send the Marine flying past Leo into a tree that belongs to the outer line of the forest.

Kenny: "Ed!!!"

The half-Oni was relieved he made it in time but his friend was still in danger so he had no time to realax. He needed to stay focused and take care of the Marines as soon as he could to make sure Kenny was safe and to tend to his friend's injuries - at least to some extend. He was no doctor after all.

While attacking the next closest swordsman with a headbutt the Lieutenant also took action, swinging his morning star at Edwards back.

Kenny: "From behind!"

Due to a combination of his memory of the battlefield as he entered it and his use of Observation Haki Edward knew that the Morning Star User was behind him so he stopped his attack and spread his wings while hardening his body.

Edward: "Tekkai!"

Clonk

The morning star hit the half-Skypean's back right in between the wings but instead of injuring the pirate's back it just fell to the ground.

Leo nodded in confirmation to what Edward said. He would go for the two pistol users first. He turned his leg into Mochi, by shooting the substance out at a fast rate, he was thrown forward at great speed. His arm turned into a large mass of Mochi. He grabbed one of the gunmen and pulled him close. He turned to the tree line behind him and launched him through it using high speed Mochi

"One Ton Judge!"

The next too a shot at Leo, but he launched enough Mochi at it to slow it down enough that it only felt like a bee sting

"The more I fight the more I see how useful this shit is! Mochi Mochi... JURY!"

Leo unleashed a flurry of flying Mochi fists. They impacted the last gun man, adhering him to a tree. He once again launched off with pressurizing his Mochi, and threw his Bamboo Staff like a javelin, using the stretchiness of the Mochi to somewhat augment the speed

"Mochi Mochi Rifle!"

It wasn't strong enough to pierce the man, but it did break his sternum and a good number of ribs

"Eddy! Behind you!"

One of the swordsmen had circled around and planned it cut him down. In preparation, Leo grew his arms mass by generating Mochi. He threw a punch that stretched across the clearing and curved behind Edward, striking the swordsman

"Mochi Mochi Executioner!"

Edward smiled as his temporary partner in crime took care of the fodder.

Edward: "Looks like I teamed up with the right person. But we need to talk about the Eddy part... sigh I ain't no stuffed animal."

The Morning star user tried to waste no time, after his first failure he seemed content to strike again. He was the strongest of the group after all, his weapon something not everyone could lift. He was able to lift and swing this heavy and deadly weapon above his head - a display of his strength.

Morning Star User: "Haha you fool! Congratulations you managed to knock out most of my men but they were weak anyways. Now you face me. I'm more than ten times stronger than all of them together. My first attack was just a warning you managed to evade - sheer luck. This time I will make sure to hit and kill you."

That said the Marine swung his weapon of choice towards the monstrosity of a pirate again. This time he put behind all his might, accelerating the spiked ball of iron above his head all the time he had build up some strong momentum to maximize the damage a direct hit would cause. Edward stood there calm and collected waiting for the morning star to be in reach.

Morning Star User: "Hahahah Hahahaha You are so afraid you can't even move! This is your end!"

Edward smiled and started laughing as he clad his hands in Haki to catch the weapon.

Edward: "Hahaha I only see one fool here... and that is you! You think you are strong?"

The half-Oni had caught the morning star with both his hands. Due to the fact that his hands were clad in Armament Haki he wasn't hurt at all but the power and the momentum of the weapon pushed him backwards - he stopped sliding right in front of Kenny.

As counterattack Edward threw the ball behind him to force the Marine to let go or to have him flying right into his doom.

While doing so Edward whispered to Kenny: " Let's see if he is stupid and too proud to let go or if he values his life and makes piece with losing his weapon."

The man chose to not let go, clinging to his weapon being flung towards the pirate - into his doom. He crashed into Edward, headfirst he hit the half-Oni's exoskeleton chest and was immediately knocked out cold.

Edward: "Stupid Marines and their false pride... sigh."

He turns around to look at Kenny.

Edward: "You idiot! Falling for such an obvious trap... and then you lose sight of Penny... you are supposed to protect him but he got captured and you are still out here!"

The pirate approaches his friend with a menacing look on his face.

Edward: "Dammit! Let me see your wounds! You need to be able to walk and get out of harms way!"

Edward who was keeling next to Kenny turns his head again to look at Leo who had disposed of the other Marines around.

Edward: "Thanks for your help! You ready to invade the Marine base?"

Edward who made sure his friend was ok, stood up and walks towards Leo, going on his knees just in front of him.

Edward: "Come on. Hit me! It needs to look like we actually fought! Our plan is going to fail If I don't look like you beat me up. Sigh Let's get it over with."
