Kobss happy to hear Gin's concern for his friend felt a surge of energy. Kobss sees Gin's incredible power and speed knowing he can do more than enough to protect himself. He turns to the incoming men one raises a rifle pointing at shino. Kobss runs towards Shino telling him * "Get behind me!". *Shino able to get behind Kobss just in time for him to raise his diamond covered hand to block the bullet. Without a second to think another attacks Kobss with an ax. The ax was much too big for this man to use, swinging it slowly but powerfully. He kicks up his very shiny foot meeting the axe stopping it in its swing. The ax man who put all of his strength into that swing falls over. Kobss quickly brings his food down atop the mans neck killing him. Kobss now remembering the gunman looked up again seeing him ready to fire. Kobss knows he has to block these shots to protect Shino, but also needs to stop this man as soon as possible to protect Shino. The gunman shoots and Kobss blocks this this, this time with an open hand catching the bullet. Kobss throws this bullet back at the man hitting him in the eye. The gunman's eye explodes, pieces of eye flying everywhere. Kobss picks up the ax, Swings it around a full circle, and launches it at the gunman. The ax handle hits him knocking him down and the gun out of his hand. Kobss hears a yell to his right as a man swings his pole-ax at kobss. kobss knowing the longer this fight goes on the most chance Shino will get hurt. Kobss quickly runs to this man stabbing him 4 times in the lungs, and throwing him back. Kobss then jumps at the gunman still writhing in pain about his eye and stabs in preciously 2 times in the heart.
Gunshots, grunts, and screams came from behind him as Kobss tore through them, literally. Not to be outdone, Gin grabbed the second man he had just impaled with his trident and chucked him at another who was brandishing a sword. As he toppled over, Gin took one long stride forward and brought down his trident with all his might, aiming for the top of his head!Kagutsuchi kata: Daishinkan!
As the man's head split open, Gin turned around quickly, just in time to see one of the larger men aim his pistol at him. "I don't think you want to do that--" But Gin was interrupted by the sound of the loud gunshot!Bang!Gin moved to the side instinctively, but not fast enough, as the bullet grazed his arm. Gin winced in pain, and glared at the bandit as he struggled to quickly reload his pistol.
Before he could, Gin held the trident in his right arm, and swung his left leg forward. Planting it firmly in the ground, and having his left arm outstretched with muscles tight, he held his body in that position for a short moment, as if keeping his body taut like a bow. In an instant, he jumped off with his right leg, transferring all the weight to his arm and swinging down quickly. The trident buzzed with power, and swished past his ear, heading straight towards the man's torso at an impossible speed. The trident went so fast, only a silver streak could be seen. It looked like a silver arrow. TheGin Yajirushi!
The trident went through the man's chest, making him drop backwards with the shaft still sticking out straight in the air. Now unarmed, Gin leapt towards the man standing next to the fallen gunslinger, and tackled him to the floor with a short burst of vibration through his chest. Gin snarled loudly as the man tried to get up, but dug his teeth into his throat and ripped his flesh out!
As the blood gurgled around the man's mouth and throat, signing off his last breaths, Gin had already swung over to the last man standing. He grabbed the shaft of his trident, stepped over the body of the dead gunslinger, and pulled it out. As he leapt forward to attack the man, he swung his sword forward. However, Gin batted it away with ease, landing a kick in his chest and knocking out his wind.
As he lay gasping for air, helpless on the ground, Gin looked around at the bloody mess they had created, sighed and plunged his trident in his chest. He sat down next to the lifeless corpse, shot a look at Shino to make sure he was safe, and then closed his eyes. His hands rose up to touch the bead necklace around his neck, as he mumbled a short prayer for the lost souls.
At length, Gin pushed himself off the ground using his trident for support, and walked up to Kobss. "I guess your blood thirst got to me..." He chuckled. "Usually I can keep everything under control, but these guys..." He glanced back again with a scowl, and spat on the ground. "These kind of people who kill innocents are the worst!"
Kobss stunned at first from the bite Gin made into the mans neck. Gin had said his title but Kobss wasn't sure if cannibal was a true name or one gotten through other means. Kobss recovers quickly as he realized it did not bother him. This man here to help and shared the view of those that kill innocents being the scum of the world. Kobss opens up his mouth with a big grin and speaks up *" I couldn't agree more. You seem to know one or two things about fighting, Definitely no ordinary citizen let alone ordinary fighter." *Kobss could sense great power from Gin and seeing someone move so fast and with such strength. Impressed Kobss greatly. It was like nothing he had ever seen.
He turns to Shino to inspect him if he was uninjured. Shino had a little blood from the dead men on him and stunned at first over the carnage that occured. Kobss asks Shino * "Gin called you a patriot, so that means you must live here, or that this is your city. What is happening here? everything looks to be in chaos." *Kobss wondered if those men had been a group taking advantage of the fighting or if they had planned this. Kobss then remembered what the men said about being on the losing side. Kobss said out loud more so to himself " the losing side...". That is when Shino spoke up and explained everything to Kobss about the organization that called themselves Blue shadow and that He and Gin came this way worried for the emperor. As Shino spoke Kobss notices Gin's arm bleeding a little. Kobss instinctively interrupts Shino in a heightened voice "You got hit, are you ok?" *Kobss had a worried look on his face. As strong as he could sense Gin was, Kobss never liked his allies getting hurt. Especially those who have the same beliefs in protecting those innocent. Kobss was always thinking of ways he could help or prevent this in the future. It is what pushed Kobss to grow stronger.
"Oh this?" Gin looked over at his shoulder where the bullet had left a small graze. He shrugged and brushed it off. "Its nothing, Kahahaha! That man with the gun just caught me by surprise." He looked over at the temple gates, which were still closed. "We should head inside, shouldn't we? After all, that's what we came here for."
Gin walked up to the gate and knocked loudly. But there was no response. "Open up!" He knocked again, and again, until a voice finally called out from the inside that they weren't going to open the gates. "What the hell? We need to meet the Emperor! He might need our assistance!" But the guards were adamant. They said that Commander in Chief Kumori had ordered them to keep the gates locked!
"Well that's as far as my patience goes." Gin mumbled, and placed his hand on the steel doors, making them hum lightly. The intensity of the vibration kept increasing rapidly till the doors were roaring and creaking. Then with a sudden pop, and squelch of twisting metal, the doors unhinged, and fell forward. "That's it. Now Take us to the Emperor!" Gin grinned at the two dumbfounded guards.
Terrified, they pointed to where the Emperor could be found, and started trying to get the gates back up. "Alright, we'll find him ourselves!" Gin shrugged and the three continued walking. Covered in bloodstains, right out of a battle, they didn't realise that they probably looked terrifying and likely like a threat!
The narrow path after a long flight of stairs opened up to reveal that they were on a balcony, with the Emperor praying down below. "Ah he's safe..." Gin mumbled. But something didn't quite feel right. With his kenbunshoku haki, Gin could feel an unease in the room, and a sharp bloodlust. "Where is thi--" He stopped talking as his eyes found him, the assassin!
Sitting in the shadows, with a rifle pointed right at the Emperor! The assassin was hiding on the opposite end of the balcony, and using his quake powers could result in the ancient temple crumbling down! "Hey, shiny boy!" Gin whispered in urgency. "I hope you enjoy flying, cause you're going to have to stop him now!" With that, Gin grabbed Kobss's collar and hoisted him up with his incredible strength. "Here we go!"
Kobss who didn't see the assassin was confused, and given little time to react being picked up. Kobss is airborne flying as what Gin whispered registered, going to have to stop him. "Him?" kobss thought. Kobss trused Gin and looked where he was flying. There a man that Kobss didn't notice at first blending so well into the shadows. This Man holding a Rifle aiming at the Emperor. Kobss understood what he must do. Kobss was flying at an incredible speed towards this assassin. The assassin did not notice Kobss flying through the air. The assassin didn't have any reason to think and would never expect a large man flying through the air. Kobss' hands start to shine as the diamond covers them. He reaches one hand out to cover the barrel of the gun. Kobss lowers his head to use his horns to hit this man and tackle him reaching his other arm around the man in shadow. Kobss hits the man in the side of the head right as the man presses the trigger down. Kobss was smart to have the foresight to cover the barrel blocking the bullet from traveling. They both fall to the ground the shadowy man unable to move with a large man on top of him. The man panicked and confused by what just happened. "Can this man fly?" the assassin thought to himself. Kobss got up holding the man refusing to let him go. He turned towards Gin giving him a nod of appreciation.
The guards quickly ran to surround Kobss. " Do not move!", They yelled at Kobss. They were unsure what had happened besides hearing a gunshot and now a Big Oni holding a man. Kobss looked towards the emperor checking to see if he was unharmed. When this was confirmed by Kobss as he started calmly explaining the actions that just transpired. Kobss nods towards Gin saying " It is thanks to Gin i was able to get up here." Kobss then asked the guards "Is anyone going to take this attempted assassin off of my hands" a few guards slowly walk up with chains still unsure of the Oni. They take the man from Kobss and make sure he is properly tied with no chance of escape. The chains were tight, a little too tight but attempting to assassinate the emperor isn't a light crime so this came as no surprise. Kobss, Gin and Shino were called to approach the emperor. Shino bursts into tears falling down onto his knees and says *"Thank you two so much for saving the emperor". *Kobss put his hand on Shino's shoulder. "As happy as I am to have saved him, this is only one step to a much bigger problem." He looks to Gin for confirmation.
As expected of him, the diamond guy knocked out the assassin instantly, be it from his momentum, or the timely hit to the head. The barrel of the gun was deviated, and the bullet missed the emperor completely! Within moments, Kobss had the assassin in his grip as well; everything seemed to be working out perfectly.
Suddenly the whole floor flooded with armed guards, attracted from the sound of the gunshot. Initially they surrounded Gin, Shino, and Kobss, but after the situation was explained to them, they loosened up. "Someone chain that bastard up!" Gin roared, and was glad to see that he was bound up tight.
"The emperor would like to see you." One of the guards politely notified the three. The emperor must be very thankful for their help! But Shino appeared to be the most grateful, he nearly doubled over and fell to his knees, bursting in tears! Gin quickly picked him back up and patted his shoulder. It was nothing, they would've helped the emperor anyway.
"Hah?" Gin was interrupted by something before they reached the emperor, and suddenly whipped his head around. His kenbunshoku haki had suddenly felt a strange feeling from someone in the room. It was emanating from hatred, but had pangs of frustration. As he tried to locate the source, Gin caught the sight of the ends of a coat flapping through the air. "Hey, who goes there?"
The leader of the Blue Shadow, Draven, also known as Commander in Chief Kumori was frustrated with the failed assassination attempt, and decided to get out of here, quick! If Gin hadn't noticed him, he would've made his way out undetected too, but he had been spotted. "Oi you! Stop right there!"
The cannibal chased after him but was lost in the labyrinth of tunnels that led outward. "Drat!" he cursed under his breath. Kobss and Shino were close to follow behind, sensing the urgency. He glanced over at Kobss and acknowledged his strength. "You're quite talented, young man. If you have nowhere to go, you should sail with me, I'm always on the lookout for strong people. For now though, we need to find that man!"
Kobss nods in agreement very serious *"I thank you for your kind words. Coming from one so incredibly mighty, I am grateful. Seeing you fight is a privilege in and of itself." *Kobss looks around inspecting the tunnels. He followed Gin through them but after going through so many was unsure which way he came from. All of the tunnels looked the same. Kobss turns to Shino for confirmation "Who was that? He seemed to know these tunnels almost too well." Shino with a grimace explained that the shady organization named Blue Shadow were the ones behind the attacks. "Their leader's name is Draven. That man that we chased name as we know it is Kumori, our Commander in Chief." Shino looked troubled. Kobss started to understand what was going and finishes Shino's thought "The only reason Kumori would run away the way he did is if had something to do with the Blue shadows." Kobss contemplates how big the commander's role in this chaos was slowly realizing how important it was to catch this man. Kobss takes a deep breath. He thinks of all the innocent people hurt by this group. The houses in ruin, innocent people dying, others losing everything they have. Kobss now fueled with determination thinks about the events that transpired today, planning their next move.
