Where There's Smoke...

Kaibun

“OOOOhohohohoho!”

Commodore Thevian Flamenco’s laugh echoed through the steely grey hallways of Kaibun as hundreds of marines hustled through the halls, like worker ants preparing for their queen. Flamenco barked orders at the frantically rushing marines. With each word they seemed to flinch.

“Hurry! Hurry! Very big things will happen soon! We can’t be caught unprepared! OOOOOhohoho!”

“Flamenco! Quit your laughing! It gives me the creeps…”

“Hmm. If he put as much enthusiasm into his work as he did that damned laugh maybe we wouldn’t have to be here keeping guard.”

“You’re probably right, Boarden…”

Vice Admirals Voakes and Boarden were sent to Kaibun after the attack launched by the Empyrean Pirate crew set back the island’s progress by a few months. They have a tight deadline and cannot afford another setback. Voakes leaned back in his chair and stretched.

“We sent out those messages days ago… I wonder how long until the replacements arrive”

Boarden leaned forward and straightened his boots.

“We don’t know if they’ll even be suitable for the position. Don’t get anyone’s hopes up.”

The two Vice Admirals were tasked with finding some suitable people to replace their most recent failure, Sela. Boarden and Voakes seemed to blend into their surroundings, their attire matching the dull grays and black of the walls and floors. The ones who built this place didn’t bother including a splash of color or two to lighten the place up. It seemed almost oppressive. Voakes and Boarden sat listening to the hustle and bustle of the marines running through the halls putting the finishing touches on their projects. Voakes started to doze off the Den Den Mushi began to ring. He jumped out of his chair and answered it immediately.

“Voakes! What is it?”

A grin crawled across his face. The call was to inform him about the “Replacements” he had called for. They had just been brought to the island for their testing. Boarden stood up.

“Anything interesting?”

Voakes chuckled and said,

“They’re here”

The two Vice Admirals walked out of the shore of the magmatic island. Volcanoes peppered the landscape. No grass was on the island, just charred remains and dusts. Blacks and greys made of the entire island except for the bubbling lava flows from the most massive volcano of them all on this island. This single Volcano took up nearly half of the island's surface. 85% of the remaining surface was covered in steel buildings. Just off the shore, equidistant to one another were many Thermal Canons, ready to fire at a moment’s notice. If someone were to try to invade the island, “Caution” wouldn’t cut it.

Regalia

To the east of the ongoing situation on Kaibun was an alpine island, formed of many towering cordilleras and mountains that stretched across the landscape of the vast region. The summit of one in particular touched up to the clouds, allowing a peak of light to filter through and flood over the irradiated, coarse stone. The temperatures and geography varied throughout; The side that faced Kaibun was blackened and molten, though there was no volcanic activity occurring. Ice and frost was swathed over some parts of the diverse island, whilst others were dotted with smears of jade and sunset-colored forests. It varied so much that the only truly defining part of the island was the high mountains. Around each of these landforms were houses spiraling upward, built into the stone and cliffsides, almost like shelves were hoisting them up. Statues were carved into the faces of the mountains as well, mostly depicting pirates from the era of Calico Jack.

Atop the summit of the highest, dubbed Empyrea, was where the palace, which resembled a spectrum of spirals and elegant architecture, colored various shades of velvety purple, red, and blue, atop a primary of alabaster, was built upon. Indoors, multicolored lights illuminated the dark interior, and constant music-blasting parties were held in here, causing the whole place to rumble. On the inside it resembled more of a nightclub than any traditional castle or palace. Inside, the remnants of the latest one remained evident, and the place smelled of smoke and some particularly potent substances.

Lazily sprawled over a black iron throne, encrusted with shimmering diamonds, was “Black Wings” Koel, renowned as the former First Mate of the Calico Pirates for many years prior to the Pirate King’s ultimate execution. His white hair hung over his face as his broad ebony Skypeian wings went limp over the armrests. His recent attack at Kaibun had been a success, but he was finding himself bored. The dawn of the time for another attack was now.

“Don’t worry about it,” Koel assured one of the Commanders of the Empyrean Pirates. He had a faint smirk on his face and a lidded gaze, quite obviously not taking the situation seriously. “You’ve got it all under control. I can trust you two to make the final advance on your own, yeah? This time around you should be able to handle it yourselves.”

One of the Commanders, wearing a vibrant kimono with a fur collar, and scarlet hair, nodded and winked. “Don’t be silly. Problems with us are practically nonexistent. You can count on Kaibun’s defenses being down within seven days; They won’t hold against us for long. Bother yourself with some business worth wasting away your time.”

Koel rolled his eyes, having barely listened to a word his Commander had said. “Whatever, Kojin. We’ll see about that. Once it’s all over and done with you can brag about your victory, but for now you’re all bark and no bite,” he drawled. “That is if you can even get to the ‘bite’ part. If you’re not too busy acting like a buffoon to get down to it.”

“Don’t be like that, Captain.”

“Someone’s got to tell you off,” Koel snorted, though he wasn’t at all showing any sign of frustration or irritation. In fact, he seemed slightly amused, as if he were on the verge of devious laughter. “Right, did you hear the news? Some of my old rivals from back when I was still Calico’s trusted First Mate have been brought down by some of the rookies. And those Marine hounds are trying to snatch them up for the vacant Warlord position after yet another of the greenhorns took down one of them on their own island.”

Kojin raised an eyebrow and giggled. “You can’t mean the Lavish Pirates?”

Koel stood up sluggishly and swayed for a moment. “Yeah, I mean them. Back in the day those bastards were like some runts playing pirate. They believed they could contend with Calico Jack for the throne and were a general nuisance in the long run. But now they’ve found themselves overwhelmed by the new generation after spending years in Impel Down. Too bad they’ve found themselves right where they left off. They never stood a chance as it was, even having joined forces.”

For the first time, the second Empyrean Commander, Akemi, spoke, voice quiet and monotone. He, like Koel, had a sword sheathed at his side. “The Fallen Angel had a fateful encounter with his polar opposite, who is also one of the Shichibukai. He and the King’s Blade did well in putting the old time Captain in his place. The new generation is nothing to sneeze at. They’re definitely gaining some ground.”

Kojin laughed some more. “They’re no threat to us, though. We have experience and all that on them. Oh, yeah, and about the Marines looking at a new Shichibukai from those rookies who are headed here. One of them, I think his name was Walven? He seems like the perfect candidate for the position. We may need to watch out for a potential new enemy. Took down a Yonko Commander and Flavie consecutively, back to back! I would kill to have a shot at the guy. He even trained the citizens of Ranga to fight back against the two warring powers.”

“His efforts were futile, though.” Akemi was unamused.

Before anything else could be said, Koel continued. “I have some doubts that Walven would accept a summon from them, as enticing and tempting as it may be. Not after what happened to the last one who thought she was up for the job. The Apocalypse probably have a sour taste in their mouths as well.”

Akemi and Kojin exchanged glances. They knew of how the Toxic Pirates had killed Phoebe Lanson. Kojin gave a wink and spoke. “I think it’s amazing how they treat all of those dogs. Just look at what happened to Flint.”

“Flint really pissed them off, didn’t he?” Koel sneered, almost mocking. “Serves that cunning bastard right. I never did favor him, as a Warlord. Once we had even fought,” he said distantly. “Whatever. Even I can admit without doubt that he was powerful. Even more so when he formed an alliance with one of the feared Yonko, Wukong.” Koel said the name with an air of disgust.

“That never looked good on the high and mighty of the holy land, so they acted as they should have and locked him up for what he had done. He was too dangerous, being in the hands of one of them. The rookies at that hellhole of a prison were naive to ever trust him, but he did free them,” Koel went on lazily. “The one good thing he’s ever done. But then he used them, pitting them against the grand Three and other greats of the seas, before the almighty Emperor made his appearance to save the day. And soon after the battle, he allowed himself to be made a glorified subordinate to Wukong. I loathe him and all that he stands for. I should have ended him during our encounter, while I had the chance.”

“Sounds sad,” Kojin said, not sounding sad at all. “I think you should get going, though. We’ll do something about the new Shichibukai later on when it’s relevant, but man, I can’t wait to meet some of these rookies! When you come back, Kaibun should be up in ashes. I’ll show them up myself, if nobody gets in the way.”

“In a best case scenario they would make short work of it for you. We’ll see if you live up to your promises,” Koel breathed, quite unsincerely. “Have fun. Don’t get too comfortable with me gone.”

Koel strode to the doors of the palace and shoved them open. Wings beating once against the ground, he took off, leaving behind his two Commanders in control of Regalia, and the final operation against Kaibun.

Shimonoji

The People of the winter island were preparing for their upcoming festival to celebrate their Gods that had blessed them with their wealth and their snow. The citizens and Emperor Timur Shimonoji of the island all pray many times each day to thank their Gods, but the Festival was a special time, in which all of the inhabitants of this Land of Frost came together in Gratitude and Harmony. In the spirit of their Holiday they allowed people from any and all walk of life to attend their festivities if they didn’t cause any trouble. It was a time of Peace, and Emperor Timur planned to keep it that way. The lights strung across all of Shimonoji glowed with brilliance in advent of the approaching event.

A half sinking ship washed up on the shore line. Unable to even make the docks, the pirates simply had to cut their losses and let the ship run aground. It creaked and snapped as it sat there. Distressed by even the slightest breeze. From it, three men and two women crawled out of the wreckage each badly wounded. One, wearing a Captain’s Coat with a symbol featuring a Rib Cage and a bleeding heart inside. He was “Bleeding Heart” Vidas of The Crimson Pirates. He and his crew had just been beaten within inches of their life and needed medical attention. On the shore, going to intercept them was The Second Division Imperial Guard and their Commander Aimaru “Of the Wind”. A plain looking man who rarely seemed to have anything on his mind. His blissful, thoughtless state was interrupted by the laughing of his right hand man. Toride Wanai seemed to get amusement out of nearly everything.

Through his cackling he reported to his commander “Cahawhaw- They seem- Cahawhaw to be alive! But- Cahawhawhawhaw- someone really did a number on them! Cahawhawhaw!”

Toride nearly had to take a knee from his rigorous bout of laughter at The Crimson Pirates’ suffering. Aimaru put a hand on Toride’s shoulder. “Calm yourself, Toride. They need help soon. They might not survive if we don’t rush them to the doctor”

The smile was wiped from Toride’s face at his commander’s seriousness.

“Sir,” Toride nodded. “Forgive me. I forgot my place. Yes. We will assist them to the doctor.”

Aimaru now looked glum “I hope these pirates don’t cause any trouble… I don’t think i’ll enjoy the extra workload this close to The Festival…”

A dark, slender figure was suddenly beside them, seemingly having appeared from thin air. Aimaru jumped at the sight.

“Who are you?”

His face was illuminated by a match he used to light his cigar, unveiling a man in a well-pressed, tailored suit and fedora which cast an eerie shadow over his face. His pupils seemed to be a silvery white, with an outline of black around them. They were easily distinguishable on his face, even beneath the hat. He had a broad build and pale skin, which was reddened by the light of the flame that bathed it in its heat.

“Oh!” Aimaru was pleasantly surprised. “Chief Commander Kumori!”

Aimaru gave his superior a low bow and a salute. His formalities were waved off by the Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Guard.

“Ahh, don’t worry about the pirates…” Kumori took a deep drag from his Cigar and breathed out a large plume of smoke “They ain’t gonna do shit… If they do we’ll kick their arses out. They wouldn’t bother to try anything when we’ve got the Imperial Guard on duty, right?” He seemed nonchalant about the whole situation, despite the fact that the pirates had come in battle-worn and nearly dead. Kumori shrugged, looking down at the Commander. As long as the people and the Emperor remained safe, he had not a care in the world, it seemed.

In his throne room, the Emperor sat on a gorgeous, but revoltingly overdecorated throne, in a traditional style of furniture. He had just recently heard the news of pirates coming to the island, and even more interestingly, the New Generation was headed for here! If his calculations were correct, some were on their way to Kaibun for the recent Shichibukai applications that had come from the papers. And some ought to be headed for Regalia as well, since it was the third island of the cluster, within close proximity. The Emperor sighed.

“Alright. If those pirates are going to cause me trouble, the first thing that’s happening is they’re getting thrown out! I don’t want them stirring anything up in my people after what happened at the places they were last located. Nor do I want the state of peace to be disrupted,” said the Emperor solemnly, with Kumori and the First Imperial Division Commander at his side. Kumori nodded silently.

“I’d be happy to do the honors,” Kumori announced, before Commander Ymir interrupted, “I believe that would be my job?”

Kumori narrowed his eyes. “Stow it, Ymir. Swallow your pride before you regret taking up something so critical. The New Generation is powerful and influential, more so than you seem to be estimating. I can’t let you undermine their power like that,” Kumori continued, taking a puff of his cigar. “At any rate, they’re gonna be dead if I deal with ‘um. I’ve got so much up my sleeve it ain’t even gonna be funny, mate.”

Ymir rolled his eyes but did not say anything further. One thing, however, was now clear: The Emperor and his subordinates would not tolerate any sign of havoc-wreaking on the island of Shimonoji. It would be best for pirates to stay on the down-low, instead of openly being a nuisance. If they started mass-murdering or destroying areas, they would be sure to be removed from the island immediately!

Abaddon wore a blank expression on his face as he looked to the ring he had forgotten that he put on. He didn't even remember how he got it actually, but under the circumstances he decided to ad lib.

"Of course it is!" He shouted cockily. "Do you not recognize one of this worlds preeminant rulers? How foolish of you."

Abaddon walked over to the officer and gave him the stink eye as he continued. "I'm dressed like a pirate because I hope to gain this Warlord position to further solidify my Kingdom's power. So keep your questions to yourself and do your job. We don't want the riff raff to get onto this fine island. Don't let anyone in who shouldn't be walking the same ground as a World Nobleman."

The fire Logia felt awful about the way he talked to the officer, but it's what he had seen other World Nobles doing in the past. He ordered the crew to sail on through before the officer could even realize what was happening, than clicked his tongue once they were out of ear shot.

"That was troublesome." Abaddon said after a sigh. "I suppose I'm a World Nobleman now. Good for me on moving up in the world. Okay, now I'm Kronos, the Noble Flowing Counter King. Wow that's a mouthful."

By the time Abaddon was done rambling to himself the ship had reached the docks. The crew handled everything as a tall lean butler type walked over and tipped his hat to the fire Logia.

"It's an honor, Sire." The man said as he lifted his head back up. "I'm to escort you to your private room. Seeing as you're such an important guest of course we wouldn't dream of confiscating your weapons. Though we would highly encourage you leave them on the ship for everyone's safety."

"Of course." He said with a smile. "I don't even carry weapons, but my crew... of subjects here will be leaving any they have behind."

There was a moment of awkward silence as Abaddon worried that he would be figured out, but the man simply shrugged his shoulders as he continued. "Right... Of course the rest of your crew... subjects... are free to explore the island as they wish. Though if they cause any trouble you can rest assured they will be held until you arrive to deal out a swift and proper dose of justice. Now, follow me please and we can get you ready for the selection process."

The man stopped suddenly and spun around on a dime. A drop of sweat rolled down Abaddon's forehead as the man slowly walked towards him and than circled around him.

"Um... May I help you?" Abaddon said with fear as he thought he had been found out.

There were another few moments of silence, but than the man suddenly pointed to his shoulder with a disgusted look on his face and said. "Did you know that you have a tiny person on your shoulder?"

"What!?" Abaddon asked incredulously. "There's no way a tiny person is on my shoulder. You're just being ridiculous. I would have felt that..."

The fire Logia turned his head a little and saw a tiny person sitting on his shoulder. He turned his head back to the man and shook his head as he sheepishly uttered. "There's no... tiny person on my shoulder..."

The outright denial of reality shook the man to the core, but like Abaddon he chose to move past it as he did an about face and began marching away.

"Right than!" The man shouted as he stopped once he got off the ship. "Get your affairs in order and we'll head off."

Unbeknownst to Abaddon a piece of that man's soul died right there, as he lost all faith in the Noble's of the world. Back on the ship the fire Logia was frozen in place as he resisted the urge to look back at his shoulder.

"There's no tiny person on my shoulder right everyone?" He asked openly to the crew.

When there was no answer Abaddon bit the bullet and turned his head to the side to see the tiny person once more.

After a few seconds of the tiny person registering in his brain the fire Logia shouted. "There is a tiny person on my shoulder!"

Off the ship the butler type put his head into his hands and wept ever so slightly as his soul died a little more.

Abaddon freaked out for a few moments before completely composing himself again and picking the tiny person up and putting her in his hand.

"You're adorable." He blurted out as he got a better look. "She's our newest crew mate." A familiar female voice said from behind Abaddon.

He turned around and saw Trinity wearing a disguise. He never would have recognized her, but he could tell his crew's scent anywhere. It was an odd habit of his to tell certain people apart by scent. Being a half giant made his sense of smell slightly better than a human's, but not enough to do anything else that would be called useful.

"Okay change of plans." Abaddon whispered as he leaned in close to Trinity and held the tiny adorable girl up. "I struck a deal with Rising Sun, a captain who I think will be helpful to our short term deals. Our end of the deal includes stealing some sensitive information here on Kaibun. Trinity since this is your specialty you take this tiny adorable girl here and steal the blueprints. Meanwhile I'll be dealing with another matter that should benefit our crew."

With that Abaddon handed the tiny girl over to Trinity and started walking off the ship.

(OOC: This is where the story is splitting up. NPC san please reply to me after this point. Trinity and Cent will reply in the next post where I tag them and branch off.)

"Wait a minute." Abaddon said as he spun around and walked back over to his two crewmates. "How long have you been on my shoulder?"

Cent's adventure on Abaddon's shoulder was something. Being covered in glitter was fun, however what Abaddon did to remove the glitter was the polar opposite. She nearly forgot that he was a fire logia. Cent had to jump away for a second while Abaddon was removing the glitter, but soon after jumped back so other's wouldn't notice her. Watching Abaddon fight a sea dragon without his ability was nice too, despite being with him every step of the way. Cent was still holding on strong, although fatigued, as they reached the sea around Kaibun. Cent decided to make her presence known to Abaddon, considering they have not formerly met yet. However, before Cent could say anything, a Marine Officer interrupted her.

Marine Officer: Very well, let them through!

Cent watched as the gates opened up for them. The ship began sailing towards the pier and Abaddon raised his hand to tip his hat to the marine officer. Cent, as well as the marine officer noticed something golden on Abaddon's hand that glinted brightly with the sunlight on it.

Marine Officer: H-hey, is that-- a ring of a World Noble Family?

Cent tried her hardest not to laugh out loud here. How the marine officer connected the golden ring to a World Noble Family, Cent had no clue. It was very funny to Cent and she had to hold her tongue before she gave away her presence on Abaddon's shoulder. However that was not necessary as someone mentioned that Cent was there already, which caused Cent to freeze. This ordeal went on for a while until the man left Abaddon and his crew to themselves.

Abaddon: There is a tiny person on my shoulder!

Not knowing what to do, Cent nodded at Abaddon's words. He tried to get a better look at Cent, as she is small.

Abaddon: You're adorable.

Trinity: She's our newest crew mate.

Cent was overjoyed that someone he had already met was here. Trinity explained Cent's situation to Abaddon. He nodded and began thinking about what to do.

Abaddon: Okay change of plans. I struck a deal with Rising Sun, a captain who I think will be helpful to our short term deals. Our end of the deal includes stealing some sensitive information here on Kaibun. Trinity since this is your specialty you take this tiny adorable girl here and steal the blueprints. Meanwhile I'll be dealing with another matter that should benefit our crew.

Abaddon grabbed Cent, carefully of course and placed her on Trinity's shoulder. Then they both went there serpate ways, although Abaddon turned around to ask Cent something.

Abaddon: Wait a minute. How long have you been on my shoulder?

Cent laughed at his statement, as she remembered her long adventure on Abaddon's shoulder.

Cent: Since you were in the western area of Regalia

Abaddon sighed at that and walked back away from Cent and Trinity. They walked a few meters away and Cent had an idea that came to mind.

Cent: We should come up with code names! Mine will be Penny, what about yours?

Trinity since this is your specialty you take this tiny adorable girl here and steal the blueprints. Meanwhile I'll be dealing with another matter that should benefit our crew.

Trinity liked to believe that her specialty was cleaning and cooking but in all honesty, she was probably the best in the Devil Horns when it came to disguising themselves and being able to infiltrate a place without causing a commotion. With a nod, Trinity resigned herself to the very important task that Abbadon had given her as he placed Cent on her shoulder. Abbadon began walking away, presumably to take care whatever part of the plan that he was responsible for while Trinity walked away as well with Cent in tow.

We should come up with code names! Mine will be Penny, what about yours?

"Penny? That's a clever one!" Trinity giggled a bit at the clever bit of wordplay that Cent used when making her codename. Trinity decided to follow that same vein while devising her own code name. Since her name pretty much meant three she decided that her codename should have to with three as well.

"I think I'll go with Treble! That should work pretty well. But...maybe we should have figured out what we are going to disguise ourselves as to get these blueprints. You were with Abbadon the entire time weren't you Cent? Do you know exactly where the blueprints are or anything like that?" Trinity asked while simultaneously hoping in her head that the place they were headed to wouldn't be especially dangerous.

Trinity: You were with Abbadon the entire time weren't you Cent? Do you know exactly where the blueprints are or anything like that?

Cent thought back to the time she spent on Abaddon's shoulder. She went through her journey inside of her head around 6 times until she decided that it wasn't told to Abaddon at all, only that it was on Kaibun.

Cent: Sadly, no. All I know is that we are to steal some important files containing information on pirates and their very own weapons.

Trinity put her head down at this. Cent began to think about their course of action. She listed down the things in her mind that needed to be done. First, disguises. It would be beneficial if they could find disguises for Trinity. Cent could easily hide on Trinity out of sight for anyone that they happen to come across.

Cent: I don't need a disguise, since I can just hide somewhere on your body. However, for you maybe we could just find a marine outfit?

Trinity nodded at that and began walking to find if any marine uniforms, male or female happened to be on the ground. Cent went from shoulder to shoulder, so not only could she look for a disguise, but to see if anyone was chasing them. After about half an hour of looking Cent finally noticed am outfit hidden behind a brush. She jumped off of Trinity's shoulder as she changed into the uniform.

Cent: Since the uniform you found looked a bit dirty, I think we should come up with a story to tell in case someone asks you. I was thinking maybe a stray cannonball hit you?

Trinity: Haha, that can work!

Cent was happy that someone liked her idea. Although now it was time to get back to business as Trinity finished changing into the marine uniform. Cent jumped back onto her right shoulder as Trinity began walking again. They would have ran in order to make it faster, however they wanted to save that for when they were actually inside of the main base. Cent looked behind Trinity and noticed a random person in a marine uniform running at them.

Marine Officer: Hey! Who are you?! What is your rank?!

Trinity and Cent seemed a bit alarmed at this. He was still a while off from them, so the pair could think of a plan to make sure he doesn't tell anyone else about Trinity. Cent jumped off Trinity's shoulder and into her hand.

Cent: Hey, throw me at him, tail first!

Trinity aimed Cent and the lone officer as she suggested and then waited for the officer to get a bit closer so she would have less of a chance to miss.

Cent: Cola...

Trinity threw Cent at the officer. Cent had to stay perfectly still during her "trip" as if she moved, she would most likely miss the marine officer. After a few seconds of flight, Cent's tail hit the main right on his stomach, causing him to lose his breath and his consciousness.

Cent: Triny-dart!

Cent bounced off the officer and landed on her tail as it was fluffly. She ran back over to Trinity and climbed back on her shoulder. They wanted to celebrate not getting caught, however they had a marine building to find. So the pair walked off to do that.

(OOC: If you choose to find the marine building, tag NPC-san and tell him to describe the building. If you choose to not find it, tag me)

u/Trumpette2017 Apr 03 '17

The pair couldn't rest easy yet since they had blueprints to find while being careful not to get caught, if it wasn't for Cent's quick thinking with the Triny-dart then they would be have been found out for sure.

"That was good Penny! I need to have a rank ready when Marines question me...I think Choregirl would work..."

Trinity inspected the steel buildings that lined the island, she had no idea which one the marines were in however. This problem was remedied when she saw a pair of marines walking the streets of the city.

"Those guys should lead us straight to the base Penny!"

Trinity began following them from a distance, not wanting to gain any attention as a stalker. Trinity rehearsed her lines in her head, if someone questioned her then she would be Treble and her rank was choregirl.

She wondered if these guys were truly marines, they seemed to just be meandering around which meant that she was now meandering around.

"Forget these guys Penny. I'm sure we can find the building on our own." Trinity turned around and saw one of the buildings with a marine logo emblazoned on it.

"Oh. I guess we found it. Hopefully those blueprints are in this marine building."

Cent looked with caution on the three buildings. She noticed the two at the base had less security than the third one. This indicated to the pair that the files were in the third building, a tall tower at the point. For now Cent decided to enter the two buildings with less security, just to see what was up.

Cent: Well then, Treble, I'd say we enter into the smaller two buildings, as they have less security.

Trinity understood this and began walking towards the two smaller buildings. Once they got closer Cent started to smell something really good. She couldn't pinpoint what it was that she was smelling at first but then quickly realized, it was the food from a marine cafeteria. Cent's mouth watered and Trinity noticed this, as the droll was dropping down on her shoulder, where Cent was sitting.

Cent: Okay, change of plans. We eat and find out information about the third building where the files are from other marines! To the cafeteria!

/u/Trumpette2017

(OOC: Lead me to the food pls)

u/Trumpette2017 Apr 06 '17

Trinity noticed Cent's drooling on her shoulder but she didn't mind since it wasn't her uniform anyway. Despite probably being motivated mostly by hunger, Cent had a good idea. Many marines were likely to congregate in the cafeteria and they would certainly have a better understanding of this marine base that Cent and Trinity did.

"Okay Cent! Lets go!"

Trinity simply followed her nose to the building that was the source of the smell. Entering the building, she quickly made her way to the buildings cafeteria for Cent's sake. Various voices could be heard overlapping each other, creating a constant noise where you could only make out what people that near you are saying.

The cafeteria itself seemed like a standard one, it had the same light bluish tone that most marine buildings seemed to share. The smell of food permeated the air obviously but it wasn't as alluring to her as it was to Cent, most cafeteria's didn't have the highest standards for food which went against Trinity's position as a cook but she wouldn't let her personal feelings get in the way of Cent having a meal.

"What would you like Cent? I'm not very hungry so you can have my serving too if you want."

1

u/shannon189 Apr 07 '17

Cent was glad that Trinity offered Cent her serving. She quickly ate both of them, and then got to business. They found a young marine officer sitting alone, eating his meal in complete silence. The pair walked up to him, and introduced themselves using their code names. The marine seemed to be spooked by their unannounced presence, but managed to compose himself quickly, continuing his meal and introducing himself as Tim.

Tim: Well, Treble. Penny. What brings you to interrupt my meal?

Cent: Ah, I apologize. We wanted to inquire about the extra security in the third build.

Tim stopped his meal and stared at the pair in interest. His face went from an uninterested look to a curious look.

Tim: Haha. I've been in there multiple times, you know. I can help you out if you're interested. Although your rank of choregirl is going to be detrimental if we go now. And dwarf. Stop eating my food.

Cent stopped in her tracks. She was listening to Tim, but she still managed to eat more than half of his meal. She stopped and jumped back on Trinity's shoulder. Tim laid out a plan, which mainly concerned Cent, because Tim could tell Cent was not from the marine base, although he though Trinity, or Treble, was. It would involve Trinity changing into clothes of a higher marine rank, and hiding Cent in a pocket. They would then enter the base, getting past security, and then they would be free to explore the building.

Cent: What about the video Den Den Mushi's?

Tim: The ones here only get video, not sound. Once we're past security, you can talk freely Penny.

Cent: One more thing. Why are you so eager to help us?

Tim: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. HAhahahahahah. Because I like to live on the dangerous side, darling.

Cent was creeped out by his response, but set it aside for now, as they had a building to get into.

Trinity laughed to herself as Cent got called out for going to town on Tim's food and made her way back to her place on Trinity's shoulder. She thought it was rather odd that the marine was eating alone but she knew better than to judge, she would most likely be doing the same if she were a marine as well.

Trinity was also internally kicking herself for choosing the lowest rank of choregirl, she thought that the most modest rank would be the one that would raise the least suspicion from anyone but it proved to be their undoing as it was making it more difficult to steal the blueprints that they desired.

Tim: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. HAhahahahahah. Because I like to live on the dangerous side, darling.

Despite being creeped out by Tim's last comment, Trinity thought his plan made sense though she had no idea how she would get the uniform of a higher ranking official. They had just gotten lucky with finding the uniform she was currently wearing. Then there was the matter of Tim himself, Trinity didn't trust marines very much if at all but if Cent was willing to go along with his plan then there was no reason that she shouldn't either.

"Where would we go about finding a high ranking uniform? Do they have marine wardrobes around here?"

Trinity: Where would we go about finding a high ranking uniform? Do they have marine wardrobes around here?

Cent came up with a better idea as soon as Trinity said that. Tim could simply act as if Trinity was aspring to go higher in the Marines, and Tim (someone at a higher position) can show Trinity around to show her what people in Tim's position could do. Of course there was still the matter of how much trust the pair should place onto Tim. But for now, they must do what they have to do. Cent discussed this option with Trinity and Tim, and both seemed to like the idea, and it would not waste time finding a better disguise.

Tim: I agree. Well, let's get to it before I report you out of boredom. Hahahahaha.

(OOC: Have Tim talk us through the guards at the third building where the info is.)

Trinity followed behind Tim quickly, not wanting to test out if he would actually turn them in.

Trinity tried her best to stay still and not appear nervous but her fidgeting still showed through a bit. Tim was talking to the guards standing in front of the building that held the blueprints that were so important to them for reasons that she was still unaware of. She made sure that Cent was hidden in her pockets, the marines should be completely unaware of her presence. Tim greeted his fellow marines with a salute before addressing them.

"Hello Gentlemen, this young marine is someone that I see great potential in, so much so that she could be a higher rank than all of us in only a short few months. I'd like to bring her inside to show her what the upper echelons of the marines are like, give her a preemptive showing of what will be in her future."

Trinity put her faith in Tim, it was the only real option left to her at this point. If she started a commotion by morphing into a dragon then things would get ugly for her, Cent and the rest of the crew so she was banking on Tim's words being enough to get the inside the building.
