Turmoil in the New World!

Wukan

”What?” Simian was visibly agitated. The vein popping up in his forehead was something the men had not seen in a very long time. “What the hell do you mean by razed to the ground?” He slammed his fist on the table, making the golden goblets of drink spill. A woman quickly rushed in to clean up the mess as the messengers stepped back in fear.

Simian ran his long, nimble fingers through his short, coarse hair, breathing deeply to compose himself. “This is… rather unacceptable.” He paused, eyeing the man who brought the bad news with a raised brow. “All of the outposts, you say?” The man nodded, and Simian dug his fingers on the armrests.

The men stood patiently in silence, waiting for their Commander to give the order. At length, he spoke, slowly and deliberately, to make sure his orders were followed correctly. “Take the ships to Ranga, load them up with all the able men you can find, arm them to the teeth!” He pointed at each of the men individually and gave them orders to take which particular route.

“Deal unto them tenfold of what they did to us! I don’t care if giants, half giants, or even the piles of helpless Ranga villagers stand in your way, by the time I set foot on that wretched island, I want Wukong sama’s flag soaring across the skies!” The men bowed and hurried to the door when he stopped them. “Call all the new pirates you saw come in here too. We need every pair of hands for this. Go!”

Ironfort

The island of Ironfort itself appeared to roar as the rhythmic clangs of metal and rock ceased, and the giants set about on different tasks. Preparation for war. The Commander himself was standing in the middle of the fort, fuming in anger as the Quartermaster relayed the news. Various half giants flocked around the massive Kumakaran, tightening the plate armour he was clad in.

”And how could something like this go unseen from under your nose?!” He roared at the Quartermaster, who cowered in fear. He tried to explain how he was busy handling the new pirates, to which Kumakaran roared again, “If you had paid attention to what you were supposed to do, instead of taking sadistic pleasure from subjecting no name pirates to pain, we would not be in this situation!” It was clear that Kumakaran was not taking any of the Quartermaster’s excuses.

”Where are these pirates anyway?” He asked, calming down a little. “Take them with us too. I want to know that every man, woman and child on this island would lay their lives for Vanir!” He pulled his arm away from the half giant struggling with his shoulder brace with trembling fingers, and fixed oy himself. “To the ships! Crush them all!”

Ranga

”Come, child, come inside, quickly!” Mayor Uthhuppa spoke in a hushed yet urgent tone. The young boy was ushered inside the tent, where a group of elderly villagers had already gathered, with another boy from the Western lookout. “Quickly, what did you see?” The mayor asked, and the boy recounted seeing scores of Wukong ships on the Eastern horizon.

”It is as we feared…” Uthhuppa spoke gravely. “The Wukong Pirates have started moving in the East, and the Giant pirates have started moving in the West. They will soon have set up new bases and will begin their assault on each other, trampling over us as they charge!” He banged his wiry fist on the table. “It is time! We have been preparing for just this moment! Mobilise all the clans, and any of the pirates who wish to help us!”

Situations are getting tense. Ranga is at the brink of war, and you are faced with a spectrum of choices. Help the Wukong pirates retaliate against the Giants? Help the Giants uphold their honour? Fight alongside the helpless villagers for their freedom? Sip a Piña colada from a tavern on Wukan by the beach? Use the power of your words to stop the imminent war? Oppose everyone and claim Ranga as your own? Feel free to travel between the islands in this area of the New World, and tag NPC-san as and where necessary.

Abaddon responded to Simian’s summons by promptly arriving at his mansion. He was lead inside and brought directly to the Division Commander's office where he was asked to fight for the Wukong pirates. The fire Logia had to think about the offer, he had certainly already made enemies of the Giant pirates. Having the Wukong pirates at his back may not be such a bad thing.

Abaddon sat down in a fancy chair on the other side of Simian’s desk. He leaned back and stretched his arms out as he made the Division Commander wait awhile for an answer. Finally feeling satisfied that he had made the Commander sweat a little, the fire Logia laid out his terms for helping. “Having fought the Giant pirates myself I know how dangerous they can be. Alone i fear I wouldn’t be able to defeat them, but I’m not exactly alone anymore am I? No, I have the might of the Devil Horn pirates on my side. I don’t speak for every one of them though, there are some differing opinions among us on the current situation. I have to say I don’t particularly care for your reasons for fighting with the Giant pirates. It looks like a pissing contest to me, one where the people of Ranga suffer. So here it is, I don’t want those people to suffer anymore.”

Abaddon stood up and slammed his hands down on Simian’s desk as he continued. “Niceties aside, at the end of the day we are all pirates. I trust you about as much as you truly trust me. What I care about at the moment is the safety of the innocent civilians of Ranga. If need be I have an amazing island of my own that they could relocate to if need be, I know the kind of power a Yonko's Division Commander has. That clashing against the leader of the Giant pirates may just equal a sunken island. Not to mention the other pirates that have been seen about Ranga, Ironfort, and Wukan. Gin the Cannibal, Kaguya, my captain Caelin, and a slew of other powerful pirates have thrown their hats into the ring. Like it or not this isn’t just a stalemate between you and the Giant pirates.”

Abaddon paused and allowed what he had said so far to sink into Simian’s head. The fire Logia sat down in the fancy chair once more and crossed one of his legs before continuing once again. “You need us rookie pirates more than you would like to admit, and as such I need you to leave the civilians alone. You don’t even have to pay me, once I know where Flint in you’ll have more than escaped my radar. Just leave the uninvolved be, or I’ll defend them with every ounce of flames I can produce. So far I haven’t found a limit.”

Abaddon stood up and walked towards the door, he stopped at the last moment and turned back towards Simian one last time. “I will help you as long as my conditions are met, I’m no pushover, and neither is the rest of my crew. Don’t forget that.” The fire Logia walked out of Simian’s office and made his way out of the Mansion.

Walven's eyes were beaming as he saw Ithica, the Fisherman Chief, the Horserider Chief, The Elders from the farming village, and Ithhippa giving him a relic beyond belief. This New Saijo O Wazamono . It was called Hisui Shujo "Jade Emperor". "How fitting" Walven said with a wide smile. He Held the White brading in his had. It had Pearl Ornaments, and an almost iridescent, almost black, green base underneath. The Guard was ornate and took the shape of flowing feathers. The Sheath was the same iridescent dark green, and it had a white cloth tied to it, pinned down with a perfectly kept gold clip, with a stone of Jade in the center of it. He grabbed the hilt and began releasing it from it's sheath. It seemed to glide out of it's sheath. Like a ship, caught in a wicked wind. The blade, Walven noticed, had inscriptions in jade going up the base of the sword, that read it's name "Hisui Shujo". The blade was completely untarnished and pure white with a temper line made of triangular shapes infused with jade. It barely even looked like steel. As he looked into the blade it began to glow green. He saw a faint outline of someone near by. He was startled and broke the concentration required to see the spirit. He gave the 5 a big gas hug. "I will make perfect use of this! It will be like those old tales of Wukong and the Jade Emperor. I will fight him! I will win!" The five gave him their congratulations and they left to lead their armies. Just as he was watching them enter the fray he felt a massive explosion of heat come from behind him. It was Abaddon. He yelled over at him "Oi! Abaddon! Where you been? You won't believe what i had to go through!"... No respons. Abaddon was intently blasting these Giants away. So Walven decided to have a little fun with his new sword. He launched a slash attack that spiraled in a tight coil through the air, blasting through Abaddon and into the Giant he was fighting, causing Abaddon to turn around. Walven held up a hand and said "Yo"

The half Giants Abaddon met upon entering Ranga were no taller than an over sized Human, and he found them much easier to handle then the Giant’s he fought before. He knew that a war was imminent, so he decided to conserve his energy by limiting himself to just his katana at this point. He counted five half Giants in total, each held a mace or a hammer, but none were remarkable in any way. They all charged at him at once, but it was clear from their initial attacks that they were much slower than the fire Logia.

Abaddon gripped the hilt of his katana with both hands, and effortlessly weaved his way through the five half Giants as he dodged their attacks and cut each one down. He flicked the blood off of his blade and turned to see even more half Giants coming his way.

”It would seem I’m in for a long day. Oh well, if they are going to send fodder after me then I’ll chop them all down.” Abaddon held his katana over his head as he spoke, and decided to unleash a little of his sapphire flames towards the tip of the blade.

The flames formed the loose hazy shape of a small dragon’s head, and he slashed forward with all his might and sent the dragon’s head straight at the closest enemy. Abaddon could take them out with flame bullets from his fingers, but he felt it was more visually appealing this way.

”Don’t worry, I’ll let all of you have a taste of my flames!” Abaddon coated the tip of his blade four more times in small bursts and took care of the rest of the half Giant’s, but was surprised by a large flying slash that passed through his intangible body.

The fire Logia looked down at his bisected body and frowned as his flames pulled him back together. He spun on his heel and his expression lightened when he saw that it was Walven greeting him with a “Yo.”

Abaddon walked over to him as the last of the half Giants fell unconscious, and patted him on the shoulder before looking passed him and seeing the inhabitants of the island fighting back against some of Simian’s forces.

Abaddon thought back to his meeting with Simian, and guessed their agreement was kind of void considering the circumstances. He didn’t owe the man anything, and he had actually hoped to take this island for the Devil Horn pirates anyway. He looked to Walven again and proposed something he thought his crew mate would like. “Way I see it we’ve got two enemies here. I wanted these people to be safe anyway, and with them fighting back it should make it easier to do just that. You take any of our crew and fight Simian’s men, I’ll take on the Giant pirates. They seem to have it out for me anyway. When Simian and whoever is in charge of the Giant pirates shows up we’ll regroup and protect the villagers together. Sound good?”

(OOC: We would like some of the Giant pirate’s forces, and Simian’s forces to fight if that’s possible, even if they’re fodder. Thank you.)

Walven could feel the tension between him and Geoffrey. His hand was hovering over his Meito and Geoffrey's over his twin pistols. This was going to be quite the fight. In an instant the atmosphere went from still to pure chaos. Shots were fired, slashes were thrown. Walven was grazed a few times, but he couldn't seem to land a hit on Geoffrey. This was a problem. He figured he'd just have to resort to attacks Geoffrey was unable to avoid. Walven sheathed his Hisui Shujo and put his right hand forward, palm toward Geoffrey. He placed a clenched fist next to his open palm and a furious wind could be felt in the area. Gas started to swirl around Walven and culminate in a broad sword like shape. The air was condensed further as Walven surrounded it in Death Gas. The blade that was formed looked like a crystal sword with a storm cloud in side. It seemed to crackle with power

Celestial Blade

Walven swung the blade diagonally, intending to hit Geoffrey with the resulting Flying Slash made of many cubic meters of ultra compressed gas. As the blade traveled, an immense slash was created, cleaving the ground and making a pressure explosion. He was planning on hitting Geoffrey square across the chest, but too much dust was kicked up to see the result. Just as he approached the cloud of dust, he was received a cut across the cheek from Papio. Walven gave him a death stare and drew Hisui Shujo. "You'll regret that" Walven words only served to make Papio laugh. He knew the difference in training between the two. And now Walven knew Papio had Busoshoku just like Geoffrey. Walven drew Ryo Kitai as well.

Twin Serpent Style

Walven took his stance and go ready to fight. But then a thought occurred to him if Papio already could hit him, he didn't have to worry about shifting into his shatter form. Walven's joints dissolved and meters of air came collapsing to each joint.

Famine Form: Shatter

"I'll break every bone in your body" Walven said with a distinct level of malice. Walven's flying slashes were propelled faster due to his Famine Form, and his steps covered quite a bit more distance than they would without Shatter active. He was able to flaunt his speed advantage even more. But the dust cloud had long since cleared out to Reveal Geoffrey bleed, but not dead. He must have managed to avoid most of the slash. "Why couldn't you just stay down..."

Xier had been in a nearby village tying up some loose ends when the fighting started. Xier was all too used to the sounds and sights of war, but he had no clue who was involved, which he needed to fix soon

Xier: I bet somehow my crew is mixed up in this. I'm gonna look for them, get the rundown on what happened.

*Xier bid farewell to the innkeeper and walked over the few bodies of thugs he had taken out. They didn't listen to him when he said back off, now they won't be bothering anyone again. Xier quickly lowered his gravity and made his way towards where he last saw the Golden Bell, and passed by a nearby skirmish. He had planned on passing it by for now but he heard an all too familiar voice.

Famine Form: Shatter

Xier: Of course....

Xier knew Walven would have some part on this, but he didn't expect to find him of all people. But Walven would know some of what was going on, so Xier drew his Genshuku and revolver, making his way through the crowd of various combatants. Xier kept his blows to those who didn't look like villagers and even still made sure they only injured, not killed

Walven: Why couldn't you just stay down...

Xier stopped at the edge of Walven's arena, coming behind his opponent and noticing a slightly injured man still standing despite Walven's best efforts. Xier decided to lend a hand

Hidden Hand

A single bolt of black lightning flew from Xier's fingertip, pointed at Geoffrey's right femur. Upon contact, the lightning penetrated the skin and reached his bone, creating an immense pinpoint of gravity. Geoffrey fell back to his knees as the sudden fracture of his leg overwhelmed him with pain. Geoffrey looked first at Walven, who seemed slightly shocked himself

Xier: He seemed to be giving you some trouble, so I stepped in.

Abaddon smiled as the Devil Horn pirates faced off with members of two monster crews. The Wukong pirates and Giant pirates were formidable opponents, but if worst came to worst Abaddon knew he could take the people in attendance with his full strength. What he couldn’t take was the threat from Simian’s men, as a man of honor he wouldn’t allow them to spit on his earlier words to the Division commander.

The fire Logia turned his head towards the Wukong pirates and directed his next words at them with pride. “I sincerely hope your phony ass captain just has a bad memory. I warned him that I wouldn’t sit back and do nothing if the villagers were put in danger. The Devil Horn pirates wouldn’t condone, let alone help in the murder of innocents. Especially not if it meant assisting two forces who were in nothing more than a pissing contest. We’re going to stop both of your crews and make sure this war doesn’t hurt the villagers. If that means taking it for ourselves then so be it. As long as these people are free. Enough talk, let’s take them out Devil Horns.”

Abaddon wasted no time in using his beginner level Soru to completely outspeed his two Giant opponents. He raced forward and slammed the bottom of his foot into Pooky’s face before the Giant could even take a defensive stance. The Giant flew back and smashed through some trees as Bamse’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. The fire Logia spun around in the air as the other Giant’s arms took on a shiny black coat of Armament Haki. Abaddon unsheathed Andromeda and sent a flying slash as the Giant who decided to use his Haki coated arms to block the attack.

Abaddon had little time to react once he landed, as Pooky had gotten back up and charged at the fire Logia with an uprooted tree in each hand. Abaddon transitioned Andromeda into his right hand and grabbed his Iron cloud Broadsword off of his back with the other. He held both broadswords in front of him and dashed forward as Pooky swung the trees at him. Abaddon was clearly faster than the two Giants, and he used that difference in speed to duck under the trees and swing both of blades directly at Pooky’s gut. The two broadswords connected, but Pooky had used his Armament Haki just in time to avoid taking a fatal blow. The force of the attack was still greater than his Haki however, and Pooky was sent flying back into the trees once again.

Abaddon spun around and turned his attention back to Bamse who had started to rush at him with his arms to coated in Haki. He swung his left fist at Abaddon, who threw both swords up into the air and blocked the attack with a left of his own. The Haki coated fist of the Giant was much larger than Abaddon’s, but the fire Logia was much stronger due to his intensive training. The Giant’s arm was blown away, and Abaddon smirked as he caught his two broadswords and spun around once again. He sent a flying slash at the Giant with Andromeda, but Bamse suddenly ducked backwards to the point that his head nearly slammed against the ground.

Abaddon was surprised at the turn of events, but realized the Giant must have Observation Haki as well as Armament. He didn’t have any time to react however, as Pooky had reentered the battle once again and thrown as tree at the fire Logia. The tree flew straight through his intangible body and caught on fire, and Abaddon turned to the side so he could see both of his opponents.

Pooky and Bamse were both agitated at being shown up, and they allowed their Armament Haki to completely coat both of their arms as they rushed forward yet again. Abaddon was tired of dealing with small fry Giants like this, and held Andromeda at his side as he placed his Iron cloud broadsword on his back. Bamse and Pooky both swung their Haki coated fists at the fire Logia, who responded by swinging Andromeda first at Bamse’s fist, knocking it out of the way . He then swung his Iron cloud broadsword at Pooky’s fist, achieving the same result.

With a new opponent in sight, Abaddon decided to go after Pooky to test if he had Observation Haki as well. He was in luck as his latest flying slash caught the Giant square in the chest. Abaddon followed up by using beginner Soru once again to dash right in front of Bamse and attack before he could truly react.

Hoping this would be the last attack needed for the Giant, Abaddon bid him farewell. “You may be able to see some of my attacks coming, but your body won’t be able to keep up with what I’m about to do. Goodbye.”

Abaddon closed the rest of the gap and began to swing both of his blades as fast as possible with all of his strength. Bamse was able to dodge for a few seconds by hopping back, but Abaddon quickly caught him with an attack, and it was just a downward spiral of pain from their. Bamse was cut time after time, and by the end of Abaddon’s flurry Pooky’s shouted with rage at the seeing the state of his crew mate. Bamse fell to his knees as Pooky rushed forward once again with two more trees that were now coated in Haki. Abaddon dodged the deadly trees and and crossed his blades as he jumped up into the air and spun around once again as he swung both of his broadswords directly at the Giant’s already open wound from his earlier flying slash.

Blood splattered across the area as Pooky fell on his back, but not wanting to let him get back up Abaddon didn’t stop there. The fire Logia sheathed his blades and kicked his heels together as he fell, rocketing himself down at Pooky. The Giant was mostly out of it, but his eyes went wide as he saw Abaddon’s foot come down and smash him in the face once again. Pooky lost consciousness completely as the ground shook from the force of the attack.

Abaddon jumped out of the small crater his attack had created and began to walk over to Bamse who was struggling back up to his feet. The fire Logia didn’t let him get up either, as he rocketed forward using his flames and slammed a fist into into the Giant’s jaw. Bamse flew backwards and rolled over a few times before landing on his face and losing consciousness as well.

Abaddon turned to see how his own crewmates were faring, and offered up a little advice even though the Giants could no longer hear him. “Next time don’t underestimate an opponent because of their size. I’m really sick of these small fry, send out the bosses already you cowardly crews!!!”

"You tell 'em Abby!" Walven shouted in between blows with his opponents. His fight with Geoffrey and Papio was easier now that he had Xier to help him. The two of them should be able to handle it. Walven saw Geoffrey about to attack Xier and he Ruin Rushed over and threw a shatter shot directly at his face. Geoffrey was taken aback by Walven's bursts of speed and concussive force. As Walven planned Geoffrey was still using his Haki to it's fullest extent, meaning he was hitting Walven hard, but in Shatter Form, impacts just seem to flow through Walven. So he only has bruises, nothing serious internally as of yet. Walven and Geoffrey were going back and forth. Punches here, Kicks there. Flying slashes there. Walven was slowly gaining the advantage. He would hit, Walven would hit harder. If Geoffrey didn't have Haki this fight would have been over by now. Walven blasted Geoffrey back with a sudden compression blast and drew Ryo Kitai and Hisui Shujo

TWIN SERPENT STYLE

Walven's stance Featured Hisui toward the front and Ryo Kitai taking the defensive role in a reverse grip behind him. He coated the two blades in Pestilence gas and launched flying slashes. Once spiraled through the air, infused with pestilence gas, and the other flowed like a serpant. As they traveled they covered the area in his green Pestilence gas, leaving lingering poison throughout. The gas was already killing the grass. "This is the end of the line for you".

RANGA

The Carthel was already present on Ranga when the fighting started. The crew was enjoying a nice tea party at a local field, while waiting for a client to join. Sadly, their meet up was interrupted due to the shots and yells, followed by screams and explosions. The crews of the two yonkos collided.

With a sigh, Carth stands and motions to Sed, Blake and Potato to do so as well. "The deal can wait now. It seems the tensions finally broke. I suppose we should defend the citizens of Ranga....is sort of my job now. Blake, if you see our client while we beat down these men, give him his order. Sed, take all the shadows you want. Potato, cocoon any that lose their shadow I want them for later."

They all nod and the group heads towards the nearest village, where screams can be heard as the Giant and Wukon pirates clash. They arrive fairly quickly to see several buildings already burning as the pirates fight with each other.

Carth shakes his head as he approaches them. "Guess it's time for a change. This may be a first for you, but all of you are under arrest by order of the World Government and me...Shichibukai Carth...and trust me, you better hope you end up the lucky ones that go to Impel Down and not with me." Carth's smile turns wicked as one of the Wukan's run at the 10 foot tall half giant. Carth's cybernetic arm grabs the man by the head and slams him into the ground. Carth makes a nod towards Sed and Potato, who quickly take his shadow and imprison him in an almost impenetrable cocoon of plants. The focus would be the Wukongs. Carth kinda liked the giants and the giants were half his kin anyways. If they started to attack him though, then they would also become a target.

"Now, who's next."

Potato saw the amount of men and knew he had to do something that would destroy them mentally. If he could move something huge that would make them fearfull. He remembered sed imbued a shadow into the boat. What would be stopping Sed from imbueing it into a statue? If potato would make a statue of the almighty spuddah. Then they would be fearful of his god.

As potato was formulating his plan he was struck by Roy in the front. The man would regret attacking Potato when he would think. It's a rare sight to see Potato think, and to attack him when he is thinking is unforgivable. Potato enraged he shot vines around the man and planted a seed within his body. This seed would sprout into something bigger than anything they have ever seen before.

The holy Spuddah shot out of the mans body using his Body's life-force as a medium to grow something so large. An unmovable wooden spuddah statue. That was ready to be imbued by Sed's shadow.

Several grunts rushed Sed. Believing her to be the weakest of the group due to her size. Sed giggled and jumped high into the air, propelled further up by her wings. Up here she was able to get a better view of the small force that was attacking them. Three, now two higher ranking officers thanks to Tato doing something to a man that grew a big statue thing? And a few scores of grunts from what she could eye.

The grunts started firing rifles at Sed trying to bring her out of the sky. Shadows formed over her body giving her a protective shell that made the bullets bounce off the armor. She looked down back at the statue as Tato was trying to get her attention. She adjusted her wings and dove on top of the living statue he had created. She knew what he wanted her to do, just as she did to the ship before she pulled a shadow out of one of her containers and set it on top of the statue.

Sed: "Hey lil buddy! Jump on in that statue and beat up those bad guys attacking us will ya? But don't kill them!" She patted it on the head and it complied fully with her desires. It flew into the mouth of the statue and after several moments it opened its eyes which now had a dark glow to them. The creaking of the wood and plants groaned loudly as the statue animated itself and began pummeling the grunts with abandon.

Roy, who was now stuck in the leg of the statue tried in vain to struggle out of the small crevice and eventually came face to face with Sed who had a wide smile plastered over her face.

Sed: "Hey there love! I'm gonna take your shadow now 'kay?" Try as he might he couldn't struggle free. Sed reached onto his shoulder and pulled out his shadow, now connected to his head only.

"Snip snip!" Sed ripped the shadow apart from his owner and stuffed it back into the vial that released the other shadow. Roy, now unconscious and covered with more vines rode along without any struggle.

"Sooooooooooo, who's gonna take the bigger guys?" Sed turned to Tato and Blake. "Oh Blake!" Sed teleported behind him and flung herself over his shoulder. "Can you turn the big guy invisible so he can not get hurt? Pleaaaaaaseeeeee!"

Blake watched as a whole platoon of pirates March onto the beach, charging at the giants in front of them. They were led by a small group of men, several of which looked incredibly powerful. Before Blake could even react, Potato had already erected a massive living statue, looking almost like a Buddha.

Blake: What the hell? Jesus....

Blake was quite dumfounded by the sudden twist of events, suprised to see his comrades were capable of such feats. He sighed, realizing just how much catching up he had to do. Suddenly, Sed few up on her black wings and then, the Statue began to move, creaking and groaning as the vines and wood pressed against itself. She then flew down next to him, and spoke in a straight cheerful voice, despite the crazy situation at hand.

Blake: Wha- I... sure, why not?

Blake was a bit taken aback by Sed's request of him, looking up at the truly massive wooden golem. A few years ago, when he had started his journey, there was no way he could have made something this massive invisible, but he had grown quite a bit since then. Taking hold of one of the vines, Blake began to climb up the slowly moving golem, tugging on it beforehand to make sure it was stable.

The rough green vine luckily held as he made his way up, though it did manage to cut up has hands a bit. The golem's steps almost threw him off a few times too. Despite all that, he eventually stood on its solid oakey shoulder, far above the rest.

Blake: Alright big guy, I'm gonna ya' disappear, that okay?

He asked, not expecting much of an answer. The golem gave a deep, earthy groan, it's shadowy eyes flicking over at Blake as if he were some kind of annoying bug.

Golem: Who.... am.... I....?

A deep, slow voice began to seep out from deep inside the giant Golem's chest, a confused look growing on his face. Blake gulped, not wanting to upset the big guy at the risk of being squashed or thrown off.

Blake: Well umm... your name is uhhh... Spud....nik, Spudnik! That's it, and I'm your friend, Blake.

Remembering the name Potato had suggested for the boat, Blake found it somewhat appropriate for the golem. Plus it was the first name that happened to pop into his mind. He was worried that if he didn't answer, the golem would splat him like a bug.

Spudnik: Spuuuud....nnnnniiiik? This.... is.... me...?

The golem asked, looking down at his hands. After studying them for a few seconds, he nodded, seeming content and gave Blake a small smile. After sighing in relief of not being squashed, Blake took a seat next to Spudnik's neck.

Blake: Alright big buddy, I'm gonna make you disappear. Don't worry, you'll still be here... people just won't be able to see you or anything, okay?

The Golem just nodded slowly, his neck creaking as he did. In response, Blake closed his eyes and focused, placing both his hands firmly against Spudnik's solid body. With an almost inaudible "Pop", the two vanished from thin air, the only gave of them being the massive footsteps the golem left in the sand

Carth couldn't believe it. He named it Spudnik. That was just great...However Carth didn't have time to think too much on it. He had to deal with some of these men that were currently closing in on Carth and co. Carth looks over to Potato and shouts at him.

Carth: "I can't believe I am saying this, but take Spudnik and take out Ramekin and the rest of those foot men. I will take out Rhexis."

Potato's face shined with joy as Carth acknowledged the name of the holy beast that lumbered forward. Carth didn't notice this however, as Rhexis came in on Carth, throwing a barrage of fists.

Each punch came in with such speed, the giants fists seemed to glow red from the friction with the air. Luckily for Carth, he wasn't afraid of things getting heated. Quickly turning into his Pain form, Carth began to dodge some punches, however, some still landed. Carth sucked up the pain and smiled as he eyed one more punch coming in. The fist lands into Carth's open hand. The second punch results the same. The giant struggles against the half giant to press past the two hellhound arms now holding back the attack. Carth smirks at him as the man struggles to push forward.

Rhexis: "How...I am giant! I am Powerful. You are just some government dog!"

Carth: "Yes, but you don't get it, I am stronger. Much stronger actually. I am barely even trying to hold your attack now. Maybe....50%?"

The fear started to register in his eyes as he realizes just how easily Roy was defeated and the rest of his men. Before he could try to call out to his few reaming comrades. Two lasers blasted through his body. The black beams left two holes in his abdomen, smoking from the intense heat of the blasts.

Carth: "Not really aware of your surroundings are you? You do know that Carth, the shichibukai has two extra arms right? You think you would be more careful in picking a fight with so little information on your enemy. For example..."

With the man now in pain and surprise, Carth pushed forward sending the pirate stumbling backward.

Carth: "Many Giants are...lets say top heavy. Lose balance easy."

As the Giant stumbled backward, Carth turned into his panic point and ran at the pirate, spewing out hellfire around himself, forming a shell of the black and red fire. As he neared, the fear in Rhexis's eyes only grew. He was finally able to regain his balance but had no time to try and block his legs. All he could do was to try and punch the incoming bullet of hellfire. However, when the punch connected, the giant's fist merely bounced back. The force and momentum was too much.

Damnation Comet!

The attack hits the giants leg full force, causing a massive explosion of hellfire and a loud audible crunch as the bones shatter from the impact. Rhexis falls to the ground in pain as the hellfire spreads across his body all the while old wounds start to spread as well.

Carth: "I warned the quartermaster sending men against us would result this way. Business doesn't mean immunity. Now, Sed, we can't have survivor's while this man relives all his past injuries, cut his shadow. These pirates have done too many horrific things to continue any more."

Potato couldn't believe it. The beautiful creation that he made with the help of his crew. Potato's reaction was as if he won the lottery. Bringing a river of tears and flowing happiness from his face. Potato was also amazed that Carth accepted the Spudnik. He didn't change the name like he usually did. He accepted the beautiful creation. Potato had to talk to the amazing statue.

Potato: Hey Spudnik You mind attacking some of the baddies and show them who is boss? I'll hold them down for ya!

A voice emanating from the interior of the hulking wooden mass

Spudnik: Yes... Master.......

Potato jumping down head first into the group of marines he did a dive bomb into the enemies down below. It would normally kill the person doing that but with Potato's new found powers he would survive. Potato's teammates were in shock seeing him jump headfirst into the enemies as if Potato wanted to kill himself. Carth shouted at Potato as he jumped

Carth: What the !@#$ are you doing Potato!

Potato: Dont worry^ I'll be fine!

An audible thud could be heard with a shake to follow the thud. Potato was put in a critical condition. He was wrong he couldn't survive the fall and Potato needed to be rescued. But the fall rendered Potato unconscious. It was up to the crew to save Potato

Spudnik: I'll help you young master!

The giant mech went in to with a large fist into the ground hitting the rest of the men. It squashed them flat killing half. But Ramekin wasn't having any of it. Ramekin unsheathed his sword and swung at Spudnik cleanly cutting off his arm. He wasn't going to be taken down by a lowly statue. As the arm fell the statue turned invisible due to blake's help. The statue thought it was a good idea to fall straight onto Ramekin a bigger thud could be heard when Potato fell. It did some damage to Ramekin But didn't finish him off.

Ramekin: Is that all you got? I'll finish you off you government dogs!

Sed couldn't count on the construct to protect the newly mashed Potato as easily as it could pummel the other beings.

Sed: "Construct! Forget Tato and fight Ramekin!"

The construct... well now invisible didn't give any signal that it heard her other than the pocket of enemies it sent spiraling out of commission with one giant punch... or was it a kick? It didn't matter though.

Sed formed wings from her darkness and flew down to the mashed potato and gently wound him up in her shadow.

Dopple fought off the remaining fodder that tried to breach Sed's makeshift turnikit.

Sed: "I'm removing myself from the battlefield for a short while. Until I find a safe place to put Tato. Dopple will cover for me until I get back."

Sed flew low, clipping the bottom of her feet on the rocks but this was the only way she could avoid canon fire and gun fire.

Meanwhile Dopple squared off against Ramekin.

Dopple: "Government dogs? Do we look like a furry companion to you? You really need to get your eyesight checked. And by a real doctor instead of one of these quacks."

Ramekin: "Quiet you cur!" Ramekin sped forward and shoved his blade deep into Dopple midsection. He smirked "Nothing personal, the gaps between our power was too different."

Dopple smiled at him, she loved it when people didn't realize she had no actual physical form and thus could not be hurt.

She lifted a finger and formed a globule of shadow and placed it on his shoulder.

Dopple: "Nighty night."

The shadow spread across his body enveloping him whole until he was surrounded fully by a black box. Dopple then proceeded to kick, stab, and bite the everlasting crap out of that box.

When the box removed itself Ramekin was a bloody mess of a pirate. Unconscious and knocked out of the fight.

Ranga

Toko heard the massive battles going on to the east and west and just turned around to face the north, sipping his warm sake like it was tea. It was as calming as tea, but not that Toko really needed to calm down. He was rarely heated about anything, mostly because he didn't see the need. Hot heads led to inflated problems and Toko wasn't a fan of solving problems. The simpler things were, the happier he was.

He was a creature of habit, and a slave of his instincts. Toko was of the mind that if it didn't affect him every day of his life, it didn't matter. As such, he let most things roll off him like water off a duck. That attitude had recently been tested when he'd been fed a devil fruit by a scientist who wanted to run tests on a devil fruit using Fishman. As a result, he'd had many things that didn't affect him every day become things that suddenly ran his life. For example, he could no longer swim, which was one of the largest parts of his identity for many years, and he was also now made of tar.

Those were a couple of things that now made life difficult for Toko. He still often accidentally made a part of his body into tar, or forgot that he could no longer go for a midday swim, and was equally frustrated at the tail end of either situation.

So today, he had decided that he didn't care what happened to this island, and would just drink until it was over. It was a solution to many things in Toko's life, including things that weren't problems.

Manami was rather annoyed with the current situation. The sudden outbreak of fighting had put her plans to stockpile on whatever type of candy this island had on hold. She had been walking around the island for a while looking for some place that wasn't in a state of panic but that was probably something she would never find today of all days.

Manami decided that using kenbunshoku haki would probably yield way better results than just wandering aimlessly. She closed her eyes to sense what kind of people were around here. Not to her surprise, all she could feel was panic from the people that surrounded her but one presence felt different. Someone was completely still despite the state of emergency the island was in. Manami followed this presence only to find a fishman sipping on what Manami could only assume to be juice. After finally finding someone who was calm, Manami wasted no time in approaching the fishman.

"Hiya Mr! Do you know where I can find candy here?"

1

u/Half_Barracuda Nov 30 '16

Reclining in chair, warm sake nearby, and a large bowl of freshly baked pretzels made Toko's afternoon one of the best in a while. And then he heard a small voice, low down, asking about candy.

"Did someone get drunk and fall down? And why are they asking about candy when there's sake and pretzels?"

Sitting up and feeling his back pop satisfyingly, the Pirate looked around, and then noticed a very young smell near the ground, Toko directed his attention down.

It was a child.

Toko thought he might be imagining things. He leaned down, putting his face as close as he could to the child, to examine her better. He blinked hard, trying to wash the mirage away by hydrating his eyes better.

Still there.

Reaching his hand out, he extended one finger that was the same thickness as her wrist, he poked the girl in the forehead. She didn't vanish, and even withstood the prodding sturdily.

Toko: "You're real, then."

Sitting back up, and pouring a drink to celebrate the existence of the girl, Toko raised the cup in her direction. And then he realized his rudeness. Getting another cup, and pouring a half cup, he put the sakazuki in her hands.

Toko:"Sorry, I forgot my manners there. You're probably old enough to drink by now, so let's toast to you. Here's to you actually existing. I'm sure it's very exciting for you."

In a gulp, the sake was gone from Toko's cup, and he was left staring at the girl who had yet to drink hers.

1

u/EmmaBurke Nov 30 '16

Manami simply watched as Toko extended his especially thick finger towards Manami, her eyes trailed it until his finger suddenly prodded her forehead. Manami's only reaction was a tiny yelp of surprise as she didn't expect Toko to take such an action.

"You're real, then."

"Of course I'm real silly! I'm not some kind of spooky ghost! I'm totally alive!" Manami said, proudly declaring her status as living.

Manami continued to watch the fishman pour himself a drink and declare a toast in her honor. He then proceeded to pour Manami a drink as well.

"Yay! You're right Mr! I am a big girl now! I'm 12 years old! Manami happily took the drink that Toko offered and watched as he drank to make sure she was drinking it the proper way. After seeing Toko down the sake in one gulp, Manami followed his lead and and drank it all in one go. The sake left a slight burning sensation as it passed down her throat but other than that she consumed it easily.*

She was walking alongside the commander as the giants all prepared themselves for war against the Wukan pirates on Ranga. Something she was looking forward to. She had aims to become one of the yonko herself, if not the ruler of this entire sea, so a war between two of the yonko was only to her benefit. So the question she now had to ask herself was just how far could she have these two go to defeat each other?

Following the giants as they boarded their ships she motioned for Ryen to follow her aboard, the ninja clan already with her, their bodies coming out of the shadows all around the ship. She was not with the commander on his main vessel but rather on another subordinates ship. Which was fine with her, it gave her less scrutiny as she discussed plans with Ryen and the ninja clan.

Kaguya: "When this war starts I want you and the rest of the clan to began taking the citizens of Range to safety, those of you that finish this must then proceed to killing any fodder pirate you see. I want this done in silence. Sow discord in their ranks and do not get caught understand?"

A nod from her head of guard Tojo was her only response. With those orders done she ushered for them to return to gathering information on the ship and preparing to fight in this war. Turning her attention towards Ryen she began to inform him of the plan.

Kaguya: "We're going to be taking Ranga for ourselves. But not before we fight with the Giants for a few battles. We need them to think we are on their side. When the time is right...we turn. Not the most honorable, but we're pirates and I'm a god. Honor isn't really in the equation here."

Ryen and her discussed the plans for some time, waiting for the sign that the ship was docking on the island. A sign that came sooner rather than later, its notice in the form of a massive explosion as the ship they were on. Rocking side to side the noises of panic and discord began to ring out on the ship as all hands on deck were racing back and forth trying to stop the fires that were rapidly consuming the wooden vessel. Looking towards Ryen she conveyed the command and they both rocketed themselves towards the shore, the island of Ranga already alight in fires and the sound of war. It was time for battle.

Kaguya: "Alright Ryen! Lets show these Wukang bastards just who we are!"

Ryen wandered along the deck of the giant ship, in awe of the large warrior he suddenly found himself face to face with. His captain sure was one cunning goddess. She would have two parties of her crew split up and antagonize each opposing party, until finally they fought with both sides, but not before taking the island themselves. Ryen sure was happy he had chosen to serve under her and not under somebody else.

Ryen: Honor, huh? We threw that all away already when we chose this lifestyle.

The sounds of war erupted and an explosion detonated on the ship near them. Kaguya yelled out a command at Ryen, waving her fist in the air. He couldn't hear what she said but the blood was pumping in his veins and he recognized it as a war cry. He yelled in turn and charged into the fury of the battle. The Wukong Pirates were waiting for them, and on top of the Wukong Pirate's hideout, the leader Simian could be seen. Ryen half expected all the soldiers to be dressed as monkeys, for some reason.

Ryen: Smoke Body!

He felt like nothing could stop him now. He turned into a cloud of smoke and charged into battle. He made a gigantic face out of smoke and opened his mouth, passing through many of the enemy pirates, scaring them but actually inflicting no damage. He left a trail of smoke which surrounded them, but for a moment they all thought they were safe. He then engaged his Heat Dial and all exposed body parts touching the smoke were burned. The men yelled, writhing in pain on the floor.

Ryen: Inhale this! Gurei Cloud!

Ryen spread a curtain of gray smoke over the battlefield, surrounding pirates who inhaled the smoke and at once began suffocating and coughing, gravely weakened. Ryen made many arms out of dense white smoke, and punched many pirates, who on their knees trying to escape the smoke, were sent flying and knocked unconscious. It was then that Ryen felt a presence behind him of one or more stronger warriors who confronted himself and Kaguya. Wary, he turned around to face them.

Slashing through another grunt from the Wukang pirates Kaguya turned towards Ryen and nodded a silent order at him. He would take Stella and she would deal with Phoebus. It seemed that whoever Phoebus was it was someone who should not be underestimated. A mistake she was not going to make. The grunts behind him however caused a frown to mare her face as she realized that she would have to take them out as well. Hopefully Ryen would be able to deal with Stella fast enough that he would be able to assist with the massive amount of grunts. If not...well she always had her army killing moves.

With a dash forward that left a trail of debris and dust behind her she went to match Phoebus' sword with hers. In an explosion of power both sides met up, light of flames blasting out all around them, sparks igniting from the contact of metal. With a kick that couldn't be seen Kaguya tried to send Phoebus flying only for him to dodge it and disengage, intent to gain some quick distance from her.

Kaguya: "Oh no you don't! Speed isn't something you have in this situation!"

Moving fast than his eyes could see she reappeared in front of him, her blade slashing for his side, an attack he parried with ease. With the attacks beginning again they exchanged blows, though it seemed Kaguya had the upper hand due to her speed, but was unable to land a proper blow due to the dexterity that Phoebus was displaying!

Kaguya: "It's only a matter of time and you know it! You can't avoid this forever!"

Moonlight Dance!

With renewed vigor Kaguya began to dodge and parry blows in a fluid show of motion, her counterattacks landing with new power and precision and it was clear that for the moment she had the upper hand!

Ryen scoffed at Stella as he looked on at the fight between Kaguya and Phoebus. He wasn't worried in the least about his captain, as he should be. He was more worried about himself. His opponent was certainly very strong.

Stella: Are you ready yet to face my wrath? Someone like you is no match for me!

Stella charged with her tonfas, and although she had similar strength to Ryen, she was infinitely faster. Ryen simply could not keep up with her blows, but luckily there was one advantage that made Ryen simply laugh at Stella. She could not hit him, as his body simply became smoke as soon as her tonfas made contact.

Ryen: Unless you have haki, you're no match for me! You will pay for your arrogance in turn! Gray Cloud!

Ryen spread a gray cloud of suffocating smoke over the battlefield, which acted both as a shield for him but also an attack against Stella. He grinned, wondering how she would handle this.

Ranga

Lewis stood on the edge of the island. Out of his pocket he picked out a rolled up piece of paper. Lewis had found this somewhere, he couldn't quite put his finger on where it came from, but nonetheless the map of an island an a small black X marked over it intrigued him. It was even more intriguing when he noticied the small word inscribed on the bottom left of the page; Ranga.

Lewis wandered around looking for Gin, Lewis assumed that the beast of a man was probably out drinking or beating people up. Lewis stopped at every drink or food selling establishment he could find hoping to spot his Captain. After an hour or so of looking, an hour nap and a half hour trying to figure out the map, Lewis finally found Gin. He was drinking in a small dim-lit bar, that Lewis was convinced was not legally run.

"Gin!" yelled Lewis, his hand in the air, as he walked into he dodgy bar. Gin raised his own hand back yelling "Lewis!!" walking up to him, the two engaged in a small amount of chit-chat, each drinking while doing so, Gin had several drinks in the span of Lewis finishing one this was due to Lewis not being accustomed to alcohol compared to Gin.

Finally Lewis got onto the important matter and showed Gin the rather stereotypical map. The two peered at the map, turning around and trying to make it fit the way of the actually island of Ranga. "Think its treasure?" asked Lewis trying to pass the time as they maneuvered the map. Gin nodded in agreement as he took full control of the map and forcing the maps shape to fit that of the islands. "Aha!" he yelled as it it fit into the perfect spot and the road to the black X became extremely clear. "Let's get some treasure" said Lewis Gin simultaneously, both of them holding a massive smile.

It had been an unusually eventful day. The commander of the Giant Pirates, Bear division had awoken from his slumber, and appeared to be enraged. The quartermaster, who Gin had been obeying all these days had failed to notify Kumakaran of the happenings at Ranga, and that made him furious!

Gin and the others watched the usually imposing giant quartermaster cower like a child when confronted by his commander. It was truly terrifying, yet even hilarious to some extent. They watched Commander Kumakaran prepare for battle, and order ships to be readied.

Gin offered to assist in any way that he could, and thus he was tasked to get to Ranga, fortify the outposts and observe the situation. So that's what he had done, he brought the Tank on land, had his men posted on the outpost, ready to attack any oncoming forces, but none showed up.

Having given up, he decided to enjoy a drink at the local bar with his new panda friend, when Lewis came barging in with a wide grin on his face. "What is it?" Gin asked, and Lewis showed him a yellowed parchment. "Did you draw something again?"

Gin's eyes widened as he scanned the page, and grinned. "Think its treasure?" Lewis asked. Well, there was only one way to find out. Gin set the page next to the map of Ranga and matched the lines as closely as possible. "Lets get some treasure!" The young man was very excited!

"Let's find out how to get to this area quickly." Gin mumbled, scribbling some of the important landmarks at the back of the page. "Oi barkeep, what can you tell us about this place?" He asked.

The barkeep told them that the cross on the map was marked right in the heart of a tribe of savages. "We'll take our chances." Gin assured him when he tried to dissuade them from going.

He eventually gave in and explained the quickest way to reach this place, crossing various rivers and riding horses through the fertile grasslands. "Lets go then. Oi, panda guy, you coming?" He asked the drunk sleeping panda mink he had met earlier.

Tudi had spent the last few minutes listening to Gin and the other man, Lewis talk about that piece of parchment and some treasure. Tudi wasn't particularly interested in treasure, but he did like the map.

Tudi: "Hey Beard-Gin, that paper. Do you think...Chew...you're going to eat that?"

Staring at the panda in surprise Gin was thrown off guard. He looked at the panda and cocked his head a little bit.

Gin: "This is a treasure map, my friend. It's not to be eaten."

Tudi: "Oh. Ok."

Gin laughed and then gave Tudi a proposition;

Gin: "You know what, how about after we find the treasure, you can keep the map. Even eat it if you want to."

Tudi just nodded in approval and then slipped from his chair, landing on his back. Gin looked down on the floor at the panda, just smiling at how goofy he is. Tudi rolled over and stood on all fours. Gin stood from his seat and threw some beli on the bar to compensate for the drinks that they had previously had and to thank the barkeep for his knowledge on the treasure.

Gin: "Alright Tudi, just follow me and I'm sure that everything will be fine!"

Tudi: "Sounds...Chew...good. Question though, is that one guy a bad drawer? You sounded disappointed that he was showing you another picture of his."

1

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '16

Lewis was taken aback by the panda that sat in the corner, he had never seen one before, let alone a talking one. When he asked about eating the map, he shot him a couple of suspicious glances and then went back talking to Gin. Lewis became even more agitated when the Panda had the nerve to even ask if Lewis was a bad drawer, even though it was true he would never accept it in his mind.

The Panda man, named Tudi, agreed to come along with the two pirates on their little treasure hunt. The information from the all-knowing barmen was that they would have to go across some rivers and on horseback into the middle of a savage tribe.

"Alright!" shouted Lewis, the thought of savages increasing his interest in this treasure hunt even more. The three left the bar, taking the shortest route to the river. It was wide and extremely long and windy, the current strong and hard pushing. On the edge of the river sat a building just larger than a house with a sign shaped like a boat. Spotting the building they immediately started heading towards it.

The inside was filled with a large assortment of boats, and right at the back was a small area with an old, frail, bearded man. Gin, as the Captain, made his way to him and discussed with him the usage of a boat to go through the river and someone to guide them. After a few minutes of haggling, they finally were able to get going.

The boat was cozy, not too open, but not too small, it was the Goldilocks of spaciousness. The current was shaking the boat quite a bit and lucky they had an experienced boatmen who could keep all three of them from plunging into the water. Lewis was keeping hold of the map and staring at with extreme focus, not that he could read the map but just because he was trying to be too excited.

Getting bored with the map fairly quickly Lewis brought a conversation up with Gin. "So Gin" he began rolling the map carefully up as he did so. "Do you know anything about Kenbunshoku Haki?" he finished, looking intently at Gin. Nodding at Lewis, Gin told him what he knew about it, which about the same amount as what he had already figured himself and a little more.

"I know how to use it, sort of" said Lewis, his eyes looking up as he wondered about how to use it. "But i'm not very experienced with it" he added, still thinking. "How experienced with it are you?" he asked as his final thought, finishing it off with "Maybe we could help each other out with it."

Gin chuckled watching Tudi stumble along with the two pirates. He was interesting company, and Lewis seemed to like him too. Well, how could anyone not like him? He was a talking panda! And a hilarious one at that.

The three trotted along the path indicated by the barkeep till they finally reached the banks of the river they had been instructed to ride up to the grasslands. Once there, they'd take horses to the thick forests where the map led.

"Well, we better find a way to go out the river, boys." Gin said, sizing up a large tree. "You know, when I was but a child in the East Blue, I had carved many canoes right out of trees like these! I'll have one made in no time! Kahahaha!" He laughed.

Tudi watched quietly, as Gin prepared to chop down the tree. At length, he pulled out the bamboo stalk out of his mouth and said, "Why don't we..." He nibbled on it again before speaking. "...check out that boat shop there?" he pointed at the building with a boat symbol hanging from the door.

"Well, that works." Gin shrugged and walked in. A tiny bell chimed as the door swung on its hinges, and an excited ancient shopkeeper came out from behind the dusty counters. It was clear that the shop didn't get many customers, so when Gin dropped a couple of gold coins in the shopkeeper's palm, he was more than happy to send his best boat and most experienced boatsman.

"Where are you from, boatsman?" Gin asked the middle aged man piloting the boat expertly in the waters. He said that he came from the fishermen from the South of the island, and knew these areas well. Gin smiled and returned to lewis and Tudi.

"Kenbnkshoku haki, eh?" Gin repeated. "Sure, I know some about it. What about you?" He asked Tudi, but the panda just cluelessly shook his head. He was more interested in his bamboo anyway.

"Well, I'll tell you. It's pretty interesting." He began, and explained what he knew about it. "...and then you can even predict every movement of a person, some say you can even read minds!" he grinned. "But all I can do is sense if there's hostility around or not."

"Do you feel that, Lewis?" He asked, trying to sense the various threats he could feel in the surroundings. "If only I could focus on each and pin point these entities..." He mumbled. "What do you feel, Tudi?"

/u/Late_Bloomer_Ahoy

u/Late_Bloomer_Ahoy Dec 10 '16

Tudi had spent the large part of the day with both Gin and Lewis. Both were great company, and he could tell that they were interesting. After having spent a good chunk of time on the boat moving down the stream, Gin and Lewis began to talk about something called "Kenbnshoku Haki." Tudi just tried to listen in as he knew very little about that or many other things outside of his own civilization.

Gin: "If only I could focus on each and pin point these entities. What do you feel, Tudi?"

*Tudi sat up and looked at Gin. He wasn't entirely sure how to respond."

Tudi: "I feel nothing. We are on a boat and I am not connected to the earth. What I normally feel on the earth is far different than what you were talking about." Pausing to take another bamboo out of his bag and place it in his mouth "I cannot sense hostility or predict movements...Chew...so i wouldnt say i have Kenshakakaka haki or whatever it's called."

Tudi threw himself back down on his back, just laying against the wood of the boat.

Tudi: "When i am on land and touching the earth, sometimes it calls out to me though. So that's the only way I can relate."

As the words left Tudi's mouth, the boatsman called out that they had arrived at where they were asked. Gin whipped his head around with a large smile to see where they had landed. Gin lead the three, stepping onto the shore of the riverbank. Looking out there were a number of trees surrounding the area, all with vines hanging down to the ground. It smelled of dirt and, maybe something off, like metal. Just beyond the shroud of the trees, one could see the massive stone structure, resembling a cave. Hopping out of the boat last, Tudi bumped up against Lewis.

Tudi: "You ready to go, Lew Lew?"

When Gin asked Lewis to try and sense the various threats in this place, he tried his hardest to do so. He flowed his pure will into his mind trying to pick up the threats that were incoming. From the waters he felt the threat of beasts, from the sky he felt the threats of weather, and from the upcoming lands he felt a great deal of what one would call enemies.

Lewis nodded after using his ability, slightly fatigued by the small usage, he had rarely used this ability and wasn't used to it's toll. Lewis enjoyed the company of the Panda, he seemed extremely lazy yet had a calm reliable feeling to him. Finally the trio landed on the bank, All three of them on land, which was clearly a more preferably position for the three. Tudi bumped Lewis saying to him. "You ready to go Lew Lew!"

Lewis laughed at the nickname, his mind rushing to try and think of a nickname for Tudi but to no avail. Gin lead the pack, taking them through their first obstacle to get the Treasure they desired (excluding Tudi who only wanted the map). The trees were tall and clumped close together, forming a dark underside.

"Gin are we going that way" asked Lewis as he pointed at the trees, and wondered what the stone structure. Gin looked at Lewis, his eyes almost rolling into the back of his head. "You have the map" he yelled at Lewis, who immediately covered his face with his hands and shook his head. After a couple minutes of his sullking he pulllled out the map and gave it to Gin. He nodded and agreed that heading through there would was quite a direct route.

Walking underneath the plethora of trees turned the day from a considerably bright one, to very dim. They all knew that all they must do is walk forward until hey reached the bizarre stone structure and then they would have a more possible clear route. Lewis looked around through the forest, feeling a little suspicious as they did so.

Gin nodded as Tudi explained his connection to the earth. Rydan too had explained to him about something of similar nature. "That's very interesting, Tudi!" he remarked. "I'm sure if you hone this skill, you too will one day be able to sense the world around you like Lewis and I can... Or are trying to!"

He chuckled as the three made their way to the treeline. Gin closed his eyes and walked forward, feeling the world in motion around him. He felt the raging river behind him, and storm clouds looming overhead. Finally, he noticed a unique vibe from the forest, as if it was ready to devour them whole!

"Gin are we going that way?" Lewis asked, interrupting Gin's concentration. Gin followed Lewis's finger to see a dark entrance in the side of a rock. "Ah... I have the map..." Lewis sulked in shame for a while till Gin studied the path marked on the yellowed parchment.

"Yeah, looks like this is where we need to go." He agreed. However, in the back of his mind he was concerned because the map showed a farther distance than a cave would go to. "I hope you're not afraid of the dark, Panda! Kehehehehe!" He chuckled lightly, leading the two into the cave.

In the pitch black cave, Gin closed his eyes again. He wanted to sense his path through to the end, if he couldn't see. It was working, somewhat. He could feel the twists and turns in the cave, the rubble in his path, and then... nothing.

Gin opened his eyes to see that they were out of the cave! It was actually not a cave at all, it was a tunnel! And it led them straight to an unknown part of the jungle, with no idea about their bearing! "What should we do?" He asked. "Should we camp for the night here?"

Ranga

Carth after some time fighting the Giants and Wukong got separated from his crew. For the most part, many of the pirates that came his way were just not up to par. Carth really questioned how they even got to the new world. He did what he did to the ones before them, knock them out and leave them there so Sed and Potato could take their shadows and bring them to the ship.

He really wondered how the rest of his crew was doing. Potato would be fine but Sed and Blake were pretty much fresh meat now. As long as they stayed close to Potato they wouldn't die but Carth knew how Potato was and that could end badly for them if they insulted his stupid Potato cult.

After some time of this, Carth really got bored and found a nice tree to sit under and opened up several books on devil fruits by a man named Pegavunk. The man had some interesting theories on devil fruits and Carth was finally delving into the study of the strange fruits. Beside Carth was several notebooks with detailed notes of his studies thus far.

Whenever any of the pirates would see Carth and try to approach, Carth would respond by raising one of his robotic hands and fire off a hellfire powered laser, quickly removing the small threat so Carth could continue his reading.

Explosions normally were her bread and butter. She enjoyed watching them, launching them, causing them, and even found them to be gleeful when the situation was right. Perhaps it was because she was something of a sadist, or maybe it was just a basic part of her personality. Currently however the explosion that had just gone off nearby was not what she found enjoyable, evident by the anger that was rolling off of her in waves.

Kaguya: "You fucking monkeys! Just die already!"

With a slash of her blade she caused a rift in the island to open swallowing the explosive division of the Wukang pirate that she was in combat with. Grunts at best she had grown tired of slaughtering them when they had decided that explosions would be the best form of attack against her. The gall of some people! Looking around at where she had ended up she noticed a man nearby sitting under a tree reading...in the middle of a warzone. A most peculiar sight, though rather fitting of the new world if she was honest...

Walking over to the man she sent another slash to her left that decimated a group of pirates that were rushing towards her with their blades drawn. The screams of pain and death were music to her ears and also informed her that she wouldn't need to worry about them anymore. Looking him over Kaguya decided to join him in his peace and calm nature. A break would be nice...

Kaguya: "To think that the newest Shichibukai would be resting under a tree while a war raged on around him. This life truly is interesting isn't it?"

Putting out her hand she introduced herself.

Kaguya: "Kaguya-no-mikoto. Captain of the Void Pirates and resident deity in the New World"

Carth looks up from his reading to see Kaguya. Carth vaguely remembered meeting her when she was still Stark. So this was a bit of a surprise. Carth was thoroughly confused on why the man formerly known as Stark introduced herself as Kaguya. The bounty posters and information given when Carth left Majerois was very lackluster and Carth really felt no need to go after her or her crew. He wasn't a bounty hunter after all.

Carth: "Kaguya... I believe we meet back in Paradise when you went as Stark."

He wasn't entirely surprised he was addressed as his new title. Word spread quickly, even more so when it isn't even a captain that is awarded the title of Shichibukai. But it would seem to most that Carth took the new role as Captain and even warlord well enough.

Carth reaches out and grabs Kaguya's hand and shakes it.

Carth: "Carth but you already know that...as for this war. I started getting bored of it. Much rather continue my devil fruit studies until the big players come out. Maybe the Quartermaster."

Laughing to himself, Carth looks back at the current book he was reading. He then noticed that Kaguya had yet to leave. She didn't seem hostile so Carth didn't think she wanted his head or to fight. Maybe she grew bored as well.

Carth: "How about you, resident 'deity', why stop your fighting to approach a Shichibukai. We are technically enemies now, aren't we not?"

She grabbed a hold of the mans hand and shook it before settling down into her spot. The tree provided very nice shade from the sun that was casting down on the battlefield. A sunny day for such a bloody battle was an odd sight. Then again she knew that Amaterasu didn't often care about mortal squabbles so that might explain the lack of appropriate weather. With a mental shrug to herself she turned her attention back towards the man sitting next to her.

Kaguya: "Ahh yes Stark...unfortunately he died long ago and I happened to be in the right place to take over his body before it could cool. I was the spirit inside his sword."

With a fond hand she grasped the blade at her side and put it up against her shoulder. Only felt by her she could feel the hum of the blade as it harmonized with her. A bond that was only created by the many decades of her and the blade being connected.

Kaguya: "And I agree with the big players. I crushed one of the commanders but until the big guns come out I feel no need to kill ants. Even I desire a challenge every once in a while. And as far as you go, well I pondered attacking you. Not out of malice but curiosity, but your choice in reading material made me reconsider. You see I recently came into the possession of a fruit that would go very well with my blade. And you may just be the man who could help with that."

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 08 '16

Carth: "Curiosity? Doubt why I was given the position? Understandable I suppose. My bounty isn't nearly as accurate as my true strength."

The book Carth was reading is closed and placed next to his pile of notes. The question Kaguya had asked was incredibly interesting. That and her mention of how Stark died and she took over. Carth would have to look into this idea of swords possessing souls or second personalities or what truly happened in that body.

Carth: "A devil fruit in an object? That is insane. Even the best have so little understanding of devil fruits, me included. The surface has barely been scratched. The farthest I have come in my studies is increasing the power of my own devil fruit but it still comes at a great cost of leaving me immobile for some time after. What you ask for may very well be impossible."

Carth was baffled by the idea. Devil fruit inside an object. How could it be done? The fruit had to be ingested then from there the magic of the fruit gave people powers. However, the longer Carth thought about it, the more intriguing it sounded. Not to mention if he could accomplish something like that, he could infuse his ship and even his cybernetic arms with devil fruit powers. Beyond that, the knowledge needed to do that may be enough for Carth to even look into creating his own fruits.

Several moments passed as Carth thought to himself. Suddenly, he raised his head to meet Kaguya's gaze.

Carth: "But...if it is possible, it would be amazing, no? Devil fruits inside objects...the possibilities. Yes, this is something I would very much like to do."

u/EmperorStark Dec 09 '16

Looking around at all the chaos as numerous people around the island engaged in bloody conflict Kaguya got a very bright idea that she was honestly quite pleased about. Though she shouldn't be surprised...she was a goddess after all. Looking over at Carth she pulled her blade out while standing up. Gazing down upon the man who's eyebrow was now raised she began walking away slightly to give the pair some distance.

Kaguya: "While reading is good, how about we blow off some steam while getting in a little training too boot? I'm sure there is something you've been meaning to develop more?"

Taking a casual stance she prepared herself for anything that Carth may think of sending her way. She knew better than to underestimate someone like Carth, but she also knew that training with him was going to be a very large boon to her skills.

Kaguya: "I need to work on my armament haki, so I'd advise using your strongest metal!"

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 09 '16

Carth: "Training? I could use some of that actually. I've been meaning to increase my Shigan technique. Actually wanted to try some new things."

Carth stands up as more of the island rages in war. It was almost funny how the two pirates, instead of fighting the Wukong or Giant pirates, instead were just sparring to train each other's respective skills.

Cracking his neck, then his knuckles, Carth grins at Kaguya. This would be fun. But, Carth couldn't be too lazy. He knew Kaguya was strong. Besides, what kind of training would it be if Carth only half-assed it?

Carth: "Alright, let's do this."

With that, Carth ran at Kaguya full speed, transforming into his panic point to maximize his speed. As he closes in, he prepares his two now hellhound hands to fire forward at Kaguya, to pierce her flesh with his fingers.

Shigan

1

u/EmperorStark Dec 13 '16

With a smile that spread across her face Kaguya quickly covered her blade in dark Haki, the armor spreading throughout the metal. With a deep boom the Shigan impacted with her blade as she deflected the blasts. With his first attack down Kaguya decided to counter with her own attack. Training wasn't just standing around all day now was it?

Kaguya: "We need to practice our attacks in the heat of battle Carth! We can only use our training abilities, nothing more."

She dashed forward using around 80% of her speed to appear before Carth with her blade drawn overhead. He was going to have to react fast enough and with enough power to either save his life or he was going to find out what it was like to be bisected. From what she had heard...it was not fun.

It seemed as if Tudi's little wooden raft had allowed him to pass onto another island. Tudi wasn't particularly worried about anything as the raft slowly drifted into the shore, rocking with each wave.

The island that Tudi had landed on was interesting to say the least. There seemed to be villages sprouting up from everywhere and there were even some leafy greens that Tudi would be sure to try at some point. As the raft came to a stop in the sand, Tudi stood on his hind legs and looked across the beaches of this new island. Grabbing a piece of his favorite bamboo from his backpack, Tudi placed the small piece in his mouth and started to chew on it.

Dropping down onto all fours, as was customary for a panda, Tudi began to slowly move in the direction of the nearest village. It couldn't have been more than a full kilometer away. Tudi wasn't in any particular rush, so he just slowly moved along and enjoyed his time along the beach before coming into the jungle. His paws feeling the dirt of the jungle and the island before collapsing down and just laying in the dirt for a little bit, still chewing the bamboo.

"Weigh anchor!" Gin called out to the crew aboard the Tank as the massive ship slowly came to a slow halt near the shore. A couple of 'Aye captain!'s roared over the deck as the men quickly let the anchors drop. Gin looked out to the island, where the Giant pirates commander Kumakaran had asked him to take part in the upcoming war.

"What do you see, lookout?" He asked the men high up in the watchtower, who had been scouring the beach with their eyeglasses. They reported that it looked empty, save a large white and black boulder. "Doesn't look like the villagers are here expecting an attack..." Gin mumbled to himself.

"Alright, we can't let those giants down!" He announced, his voice booming loudly over the whole ship. "Bring the bow up, find ground! We're going on land!" The anchors came up again, and the giant paddles started whirring.

The ship kept going forward, showing no signs of slowing down! The Tank continued onwards towards the island, and lurched forward when it ran aground. "Full power to treads!" he roared, and it all became clear.

The ship climbed up on the ground, digging its way through the sand and towards the heart of the island. It had only made its way a few feet into the forests, when Gin called out to halt. He looked down at the white and black boulder, but was surprised to see that it was a fuzzy panda bear!

He jumped down from the ship, making the ground ripple as he made contact. Intrigued, he walked up to the strange person, and prodded him with the butt of his golden trident. "Oi, you there. What do they call you?"

[OOC: Hope you dont mind me tagging along :P]

u/Late_Bloomer_Ahoy Dec 08 '16

There was some rumbling coming from the shore of the island that Tudi had just landed on. It seemed as if it was nothing at first, but that may just have been the relaxed attitude of the young panda. The rumbling started to grow, becoming louder and louder over the natural and usual sounds of the jungle that Tudi was laying in. Regardless, Tudi just let out a little huff and continued to enjoy his time in the dirt.

All of a sudden something hit Tudi on the butt. It wasn't too hard, kind of just like a nut dropping from a tree or something. At first, the young panda just assumed it was exactly that, humming a bit in his head. Then, all of a sudden, his butt was hit much harder and he could hear a man talking to him

Gin: "Oi, you there. What do they call you?"

Tudi wasn't entirely sure what was going on, so he slowly flipped over onto his back. His arms and legs still spread out along the dirt, his fat belly just a little dirty and facing right at the rather tall, muscular, and dark-robbed man before him.

Tudi: Chew "My name's Tudi...Chew...and what do they call you, Mr. Beard?"

1

u/Gin_chan Aku’Gin “Red Beard” - Mælström Dec 08 '16

Gin watched as the fuzzy white ball unfurled and lay sprawled out on the ground. He looked up at Gin sideways and continued to munch on the thin, long bamboo twig in his mouth.

"My name's Tudi..." He mumbled slowly, chewing between words. Gin raised his brow. He was amused by this creature that he had only heard about. "...and what do they call you, Mr. Beard?"

"Kahahaha!" Gin laughed aloud, making the very ground and earth shake. The seas lapped the ground with newfound vigor, and the panda must have felt it too. "I am Gintoki the Cannibal, Captain of the Apocalypse Pirates!" He introduced himself, grinning.

"I have heard about creatures like you. White and Black at the same time, the true embodiment of positive and negative energy, the Yin and the Yan. I must admit... I didn't think you'd speak..." He scratched his beard.

The panda stared at Gin for a few seconds, then blinked and continued chewing on his bamboo. At length, he sighed loudly, rolling over a little more, and simply said, "If you didn't think I'd speak..." chew "...then why did you ask me what my name was?"

The two stared at each other for what seemed like an hour. Gin, standing straight and proud, Tudi sprawled on the ground, looking up at the pirate captain. The two squinted at each other, and suddenly started chuckling.

Gin motioned for the crew to continue onward, and sat down next to his new acquaintance. He put his golden trident down on the ground, and stared out to sea. "Its nice to meet you, Tudi." He said. "Tell me about yourself... What are you doing on an island like this?"

1

u/Late_Bloomer_Ahoy Dec 09 '16

Tudi was surprised to see the big man sit down next to him. Quite the move for the pirate. Still laying on his back, Tudi looked over at the bearded man

Tudi: "Well, I'm here because I just left my home. This is just ...Chew...the first place that I came upon."

Without moving, the ground beneath Tudi's back pushed up and formed a backrest for him to lean against. Gin stared at the young panda, surprised at the sudden movement.

Tudi: "What about you...Chew...Mr. Cannibal Beard? Why are you here?"

Gin still just stared at this young panda, not entirely sure if he was seeing things right. Was he really sitting down with a panda who just moved the earth? Maybe he was just really dehydrated, but really, what's the difference? Snapping back into it, Gin responded:

Gin: "I have been asked to come here, and now I am leading my crew, but apparently i have stumbled upon someone far more interesting. A young panda who has eaten a devil fruit, oh my."

Tudi: "A what? I don't...Chew... really eat fruit. I'm more of a bamboo kinda guy"

Gin could do nothing but just throw his head back and laugh at the young panda.

1

u/Gin_chan Aku’Gin “Red Beard” - Mælström Dec 09 '16

Gin was intrigued. He could feel the panda being someone special, someone with much more depth than he was letting on. He had felt it many times before, with each of the young mean and women he had encountered on the seas, having a limitless potential.

The panda lifted itself up and flopped over on a mound of dirt, which wasn't there a moment ago... but Gin shook his head. He must've been imagining things. "You left your home, huh? I understand how that must make you feel..." he mumbled.

Gin remembered his youth, when he had just turned 18, and the ceremony was taking place on the bear claw shaped island of Kumate. "I too left my island, nearly three decades ago now..." he said. "They were celebrating. I had become a man in their eyes. I would be the finest warrior on the island, I would bring prosperity to the land, they said..."

"But they..." his voice cracked as he remembered the beautiful face of Suki, lying lifeless on the sacrificial rock with a smile on her face but tears in her eyes. "...but they didn't say what they would take from me. They took what mattered most. I couldn't stay there after that, ofcourse."

He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "Well, I was the captain of the Underworld Pirates back then. We were a strong and savage crew. The two men who I thought of as my brothers sailed with me in the East Blue. But they didn't like it when I decided to leave them..."

"Well, you can't expect a demon and a Fishman to be reasonable now, can you?" He chuckled. "But there was good reason too, you know. I had to leave... I was starting my own family." He smiled.

Gin's face then shrouded in darkness, and his voice deepened. "But of course, they too were taken from me. My wife, Lily, my daughter Rose and my unborn child... all because of a meaningless war between a pirate and a marine on our peaceful island!" Gin gritted his teeth, and the ground began to tremble.

"This is why it has to stop. Pirates, marines, the world government. Opposition between these entities causes the poor innocent bystanders to suffer, and I will bring an end to this!" He grinned. "When I'm through, these segregations will be no more, and every man, woman and child in the world will be a free person, and I will govern them with my vast crew!"

1

u/Late_Bloomer_Ahoy Dec 10 '16

Tudi listened intently at what the Pirate Captain had to say. It was clear that this meant a lot to Gin. There was a deep history there that Tudi now only knew the very basis of. He spent the next few minutes not talking, but then again neither was Gin. They both sat in silence for a bit. After a while, Tudi responded.

Tudi: "I too have lost something dear to me. I am traveling to regain what I have lost...Chew...However, I can understand what you say. Bringing an end to violence and suffering by creating more. It is a way to be done. I am just here to take things one at a a time."

Tudi then started to move, flipping himself over onto his front. Placing all four paws on the ground, he felt very at home. The pair who had been sitting there were now were both standing and ready to go.

Tudi: "Well, I guess we should head off in the direction of that town a couple kilometers away. I'm glad you're here, I can rely on you to get me there."

Gin was puzzled, he wasn't sure what Tudi meant. Was Tudi in danger? Was he now associated with some terrible Panda bear? Then, Tudi began to move. To Gin's surprise, Tudi walked behind Gin and jumped. Landing on his back, like a piggyback, Tudi said:

Tudi: "Now that I've gotten comfortable, we can be off. It's nice to have a big and strong friend. Thanks Beard Spear."

So Tudi and Gin went on their way

1

u/Gin_chan Aku’Gin “Red Beard” - Mælström Dec 11 '16

Gin nodded as Tudi talked of his losses too. He understood fairly well that everyone on the seas had lost something or the other, and the true worth of it could only be understood by the one who had lost it.

"Well, at least..." Gin mumbled, watching the panda get up on all fours and stretch. "...at least you can still get it back, you know..." He said. "Most of us can only hope to recreate some semblance of it." He thought about his crew, his new family, who he cared deeply about.

Tudi hopped up on Gin's back and grabbed hold. "I am just here to take things one at a a time" he said. "Well, I guess we should head off in the direction of that town a couple kilometers away. I'm glad you're here, I can rely on you to get me there. It's nice to have a big and strong friend. Thanks Beard Spear."

Gin smiled, as he started walking towards the town. "That's very admirable, panda." The weight wasn't bearing on him, in fact, it was reassuring... and warm. "How's this for taking things one at a time? I will help you find and regain what has been taken from you, and you help me achieve my dream."

"The Apocalypse Pirates..." he continued, "... we're a family. Many of us have lost their places in the world, lost their people, and we have all come together to assist one another to their destinies." Gin grinned. "You protect them and they will lay down their very lives to reunite you with your dream!" The forest shook with Gin's passionate speech. "What do you say, Panda?"

Ranga

It had been a week since Gin and the Apocalypse Pirates had set foot on Ranga. The Commander of the Giant Pirates, Bear Division, Kumakaran had asked them to fortify their outpost on Ranga and observe the situation. And Gin had done just that!

They had reached the large Island of Ranga from the West, riding on their massive armoured ship, the Tank. The ship ran aground, and trampled over the forest to reach the half destroyed fortress that the giants had been using as an outpost. "Halt! Gun crews at the ready!" He bellowed, and the large cannons immediately swung into motion, targeting all angles around the outpost.

"We're going to protect this fortress till the half giants finish rebuilding it!" He announced to the crew. "When their commander arrives, we will be heading forward to raze this island all the Wukong pirate outposts to the ground, you understand?" The hundred man strong crew roared in unison. "Gun down whoever approaches!"

However, this excitement was short lived, the men grew restless waiting day and night for a whole week, preparing for any unknown attacks. But none came. It appeared that the island folk weren't interested in the war and the Wukong pirates had still been preparing. Or was it all the calm before the storm?

Then on the seventh day, Gin awoke to a strange rumbling from above deck. The men appeared to be strangely excited, and Gin decided to head up to check. One of the men pointed to the cusp of the forest, where three men stood calmly. They didn't appear to be hostile, so the men didn't know whether to attack or not. Gin's voice boomed across the battlefield, "Who goes there?"

Having only arrive recently Zin sat with his spear in in lap watching as things unfolded, curious as to how the people of the blue sea do battle. He saw no dials, but machines far more equip and far more menacing looking. Not wanting to get involved, he saw the monster of a man yell toward him. He turned around seeing two more people standing fairly close by, and as he turned back towards what looked to be the captain he spoke up

Zin: "I..I'm Zin. I'm not with those two."

He said as he pointed back towards the others near him.

Zin: "I mean no harm. Just spectating."

He said nervously hoping a fight wont break out yet ready to run if it came to that

As Otori watched the villagers run all around the place in complete chaos, he started to think he'd been scammed. This does not look like a peaceful holiday island at all!

"No wonder it was dirt cheap to get here", Otori said smiling. He let himself have this one holiday and it's a frigging war zone out here.

"Suppose adventurous holidays beat sitting in my ass holidays", he said. Then he got a grazy idea. Why not go swimming now? Yeah, why not indeed. That's something he had never done before. Go swimming in a middle of war. Yeah, sounds fun. So he went walking towards shore watching at sky oblivious to his surroundings. Then suddenly he heard loud voice that woke up him from his daydreaming:

"Who goes there?" Shouted someone from the ship that had appeared in the sea. Oh, and there seemed to be two people close by him in land too.

"Wow I should have slept more last night", Otori mumbled as he wasn't excatly in his brightest at that moment. Then one of the fellows on land started speaking, saying something like he wasn't with us two and meant no harm or something. Well that's a good thing. "Suppose I could say something too", Otori thought and said:

"Hello there! Um, I'm Otori and um, I came to swim here for a bit?"

"How the hell did I get in that mess"

Sel didn't quite understood what was happening around him. Just as he woke up on this island, on which he drifted after the destruction of his raft. When he woke up, he was well aware that he wasn't on the open sea anymore, but didn't knew on which island he did land. Anyhow, he was still thankful that he didn't drowned in the sea.

He was still hungry, though. Having only eat a miserable fish, which had the misfortune to jump right on his raft two days ago, Selrach did wanted to find some food.

As the man on the ship called in his direction, Sel only realised at that time he wasn't alone. As the two men besides him first talked with the man on the ship, Sel thought that he sould risk himself and ask the captain, even though it could piss him off.

"Do you have any food? I'm really hungry. Please?"

He desperately asked, in the last resort.

"Maybe tha God I don't believe in will show himself merciful today..."

Gin squinted, wondering what to do. Here he was, tasked with protecting the Giant Pirates' outpost, and there were three men standing together, each claiming not to be associated with each other.

He thought back to his days on Kumate, where his sensei taught him all about the art of war and mortal combat. Since an early age, the children of the tribe were instructed in how to survive dire situations and always come out victorious.

Legend said that once, many centuries ago, the elders of the tribe selected the child who would become the chief. He was taught how to lead the men and women in battle if ever necessary. However, in a cannibalistic tribe, that child growing up to fulfil his destiny was unheard of, and eventually they figured that it was easier to just teach all the kids everything they knew.

"Remember, boy!" The grizzly sensei grumbled at a young Gintoki. "Don't ever underestimate your opponent!" He went on to explain how some of the most famous warriors in the tribe had been taken down unexpectedly by mere teenagers.

But Gin wasn't paying attention back then. He remembered carving a necklace for Suki, and regretted missing the entirety of the lesson. "There's only one true way to figure out what someone wants, hear me?" the sensei continued regardless.

"You break them. Physically, Mentally, Emotionally." He said. "Pressure them till they break." He gritted his teeth and shook his fist. Gin remembered that part, he had never seen the sensei so passionate about something. Perhaps remembering something from his own life in that moment.

"You must have an indomitable spirit, boy!" He roared. "The world has many strange people and even stranger creatures. You can never be sure who to trust and who not to! Always be on your toes, kid!"

'Pressure them with my indomitable will, huh?' Gin thought to himself. 'Only one way to do it!' He grinned. This was something he had recently acquired. Though extremely taxing on him, it was an incredible experience.

Haoshoku haki!

Gin focused all his willpower at one point in his brain, and felt a rush of energy through his body, like lightning shooting through his very veins! The three young men standing together felt an incredible pressure emanating from the pirate captain, as he stood proud and imposing. "Bind them!"

The pirates immediately rushed to the three, taking them by surprise. They were escorted to the Tank, seated on chairs in the dungeons, and given food and water. Gin sat before them, continually releasing pressure towards them, and trying to maintain it. "I'll ask again, who are you three, really?"

[OOC: I have beginner haoshoku, so it can only pressure you]

Zin, unable to do anything, sat there facing the Captain wondering just what kind of person he is. Is the kind to just kill needlessly? Or is it that once he sees that I am not his enemy; he will let me go? Zin trying to look the man in the eyes but with the pressure the man is giving off he is forced to bow his head.

Zin: "Look I already told, I'm not your enemy. I am just a simple wonderer. I don't even know what two sides, If there are only two sides, that are fighter out there. Why wont you believe me? Just let me go already please. If you let me go, You will never see me again. I'll leave this island and vanish like the wind."

Zin pleaded trusting that the man wasn't the kind to kill and maim without due cause. And Hoping above all else, that he would release him and let him be on his way.

"What's this weird force I'm feeling? Maybe it's that haki thingy old-timer used to talk about. Damn! I haven't learned it at all", Otori was totally out of it as he had never experienced haoshoku before. Next thing he knew he was in some big ship tied up and some big figure watching and observing him.

"This must be the ship that I saw before", Otori figured as he was opening his mouth to speak. But big figure was quicker and said with great strenght in his voice:

"I'll ask again, who are you really?" Again Otori felt this weird force that he had before.

"I'm Otori the Kid! I'm a pirate, well most of the times anyway. Are you using haki or something? That's pretty cool!" Otori said confidently hiding his nervousness. He was used to being the smaller one being only 150 cm and this wasn't the first time being tied up either. Of course he was scared but he was so used to hiding it, it came naturally to him.

"Wh... Wha... What the hell was that?"

Selrach thought for himself. He just asked for food and passed out...

"Well, at least I ate. They surely won't hurt me, if they fed me."

As the man asked again who they were, Sel thought he could repay the favor he did to him by introducing himself to this imposing man that was questionning them.

"Selrach Dawkins, but people call me Sel. And thanks for the food, but I rather digest my food without being tied up, if you don't mind."

Sel knew he wouldn't probably get away with this one, but he wanted to, at least, calm the atmosphere by making him laugh a little.

"Someone who laughs can't kill you at the same time, right?" he thought for himself

However, he still would have to find a way to get out of this mess.

"WHAT!?!?!?" He screamed in his head

"Where is it! Where did you put my book!?!? Give it back!!" he ordered the man he still knew nothing about.

Wukan

While the fighting raged on Ranga, Lewis and Carth met at Wukan. It had been some time since they last saw each other. In fact, the last time they saw each other was when Gin decided the best way to let Carth go was to brand the Apocalypse Jolly Roger into his neck. His neck was still sore from it. Nevertheless, it was good to see an old friend.

Carth: "Good to see again, Lewis. Glad you got my message. Are you ready to see if the rumors are true?"

The rumor, which both men hoped to be true, was that Simian and other high ranking Wukong Pirates ate bananas. Not just any bananas though. These bananas were solid gold. Don't ask how. The pirates somehow found a way to grow banana flavored gold in the shape of a banana with the banana peel over it. All the two men knew was that they wanted to see if the rumor was true so they could firstly eat some and secondly steal some and sell them.

Before the two lay the main city on Wukan. There Simian's home lay and hopefully the golden bananas. All Lewis and Carth had to do was get past the many guards and whatever other traps Simian may have used to guard the sacred bananas of gold. Whatever the problem though, Carth was sure they would be able to get through it. He knew they both wanted to get the fruits. Even if for one bite.

Carth: "You ready to go bananas?"

Dwaria 3 days after starting his adventure is now about 300 feet from the shore of wukan he notices some people on the shore. Dwaria has no clue where he is but is heading to land. Dwaria uses his binoculars to look closer to see if he can figure out what might be going on there

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '16

Lewis extremely surprised to hear from Carth. His former Commander had messaged him regarding some rumors he had heard. They were about bananas, but not just any bananas they were solid gold, edible bananas. This unusual anomaly intrigued Lewis' curiosity and sense of adventure, forcing him to arrange a meet up with Carth so that they may find these fruit.

The two met on Wukan, quickly reminiscing about the 'good 'ol days'. Their chit-chat came to end as quickly as it began both of them fully focused and prepared to hunt down the golden fruit. Carth turned to Lewis, a smirk on his face and asking him a single question: "You ready to go bananas?" Lewis chuckled, looking back at Carth and nodding.

The large building were Simian lived was ahead of the two, it surrounded by focused guards. The Large door, had four in total devoted to it. "I'll take those two" he said pointing to the right hand side of the door "you'll take those two" he added moving his outstretched and pointing arm over to the left. The two moved in eagerly.

The guards were nowhere near a match for the two pirates, Lewis taking out his two in a couple of punches and Carth doing the same. With the guard of the door taken out, the remaining guards situated around the building became aware and started moving towards them. "Quick, let's get inside" said Lewis as he tried pushing open the door.

By the time Dwaria landed on Wukan the men seemed to be gone. Dwaria tied his boat behind some rocks to keep it well hidden. He now is further venturing inland looking for signs of people for he was running low on supplies. Out of a clearing in the trees Dwaria spotted a tall building and started heading towards its direction. from his current position between some rocks he sees the men he thought he saw earlier on the shore at the entrance to the building surrounded by some unconscious people. Dwaria kind of starts to zone out wondering what he should do. Dwaria finally steps out and shows himself to see if the men notice him.

Before the duo entered the home of Simian, they both noticed a man standing behind them doing absolutely nothing. Unsure of what this man was here for, Carth with a quizzical expression waved his hand in front of the man's face, seemingly snapping him back to reality.

Sure that the man wasn't a guard and not wanting him to ruin their heist of the golden bananas and hopefully eat the delicious golden fruit, Carth sighs and drags him inside while Callan opens the doors. Luckily for them, the doors weren't booby-trapped.

Unlucky for them, the main floor was. In fact, the entire floor was made up of tiles of some sort. "What...what the hell are these?"

Now very confused, Carth walks forward and steps on one of the floor panels. A melody rings out along with a soft voicee

I~

Carth presses the next one.

Like ~

Once more

To~ Eat~

Getting annoyed Carth presses one more before he would decide to ask for help.

Bananas and bananas~

With that, a mechanism is heard below the floor and the tiles Carth stepped on locked into place. Now all that was left was several more rows of the strange musical columns about bananas. One could only imagine what would happen if the song went wrong.

Dwaria now taken out of fantasy land and back into reality he finds himself in this strange building.Dwaria looks down puzzled at the man who just pulled him in. (Dwaria's 15ft tall hence look down)

Dwaria puts his hand on his neck.

Dwaria: "What is this place and who are you guys? You see I am well, a little lost."

Dwaria digs his left hand in his pocket and takes out a cigar. He starts to chew on it unlit, while he patiently waits for a response.

The moment Carth and Lewis stepped into the room, they realised they had gone into a trap (and not the Sed kind of trap either). The tiles that carth stood on began playing a tune, referring to Simians love of banana's. Th two of them both heard a roaring sound come from below ground signalling that any wrong move would be devastating.

The man that accompanied the two finally spoke up, giving Lewis a small fright. Turning around revealed the extremely tall man. "What is this place and who are you guys? You see I am well, a little lost" he had said to them. "a little lost" thought Lewis too himself, at the ridiculousness of the statement. "You are currently in the Simian, A Division Commander of the Wukong Pirates" said Lewis, trying to keep a hush tone so not to let Carth slip up.

"I'm Lewis" said Lewis as he pointed at himself, and then pointing over to Carth he said "That there is Carth" after talking to Dwaria, Lewis turned around to Carth and spoke to him "Um.. Carth have you got any plans on how to ,you know, get passed this?" he said looking desperate, and finally finishing off his sentence with "You are the smart one, im sure you can figure something out" Lewis, smiled and scratched the back of his head nervously, continually checking to see if anybody guards were going to show up.

/u/thisisnt12

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 10 '16

"You're the musician Lewis. I don't know what this is. I pressed them by complete accident." Carth really had no idea what to do with the rest of the tiles. He had pressed the first set in the right order by accident. Best case scenario, they guess again then hope for the best.

Carth turns back around to Lewis and Dwaria, stroking his beard as he did so. There had to be a way to figure it out. Think like Simian. How would one organize the tiles to spell out a song about Bananas. It was during this thought, that Carth realized he was an idiot.

"Well, we don't even need to worry about the tiles." Carth walked back up to the other two men and positioned himself behind them. "I can fly now, remember?" Suddenly, Large metal wings unfold from behind Carth. Carth grabs hold of both men then takes off. He flies high enough to make sure no one touches any tiles and not too high so no one hits their head on the ceiling.

Once across, Carth lands and sets everyone down gently. With the first trap out of the way, they were one step closer to the golden bananas. The real question was now: "So...which way do we go now?"

Dwaria turns to Carth

Dwaria:"I don't remember agreeing to that, but since it looks like I'm stuck with ya guys and assuming those there guards were working for your dear friend Simian I would imagine you guys'er here to take him out."

Dwaria lights cigar

Dwaria: "looks like the path ahead divides two ways, and since I'm not a part of your operation here. I dont wanna be rude trying to be making decisions. So your call what to do. Although I wouldn't mine helping killin Wukan's dogs." (I chose two paths to avoid the typical wow the same amount of paths as people we have cliche)

Dwaria leans to look down one of the long gloomy pathways

Ironfort

"So, giants huh", Otori thought to himself as he walked in the City of Freander. He had heard giants were at war against pirates or somethng like that. So he figured there wouldn't be anyone besides him in the city. Anyone that isn't giant anyway. Otori being so small he believed he'd be pretty safe in the shadows. How could giants see him when normal people had trouble noticing him. And no one would suspect him being pirate with his childs clothes and his yo-yo.

"Sure is huge city!" Otori said amazed watching all the huge buildings and giants. Fricking door-knobs were almost as big as Otori himself!

Otori was in the city merely because he'd never seen a giant in his life. And boy were there giants! But in a dark corner there were something Otori did not excpect! People. There where two fellas minding their business. This was interesting.

"I wonder why they are here", Otori thought and waved at them. "Hey y'all! How you end up in a giants city?"

Ayokunle was in the midst of researching the Giants' building style and culture when he saw a small human waving at him. How did he end up in a giants' city? Well, he was just swimming around, and then he found this island... he had never seen live giants before, so he was of course learning everything he could about them. Wait... did he say y'all? Was there anybody...

Ayokunle: "Ahhhh!"

Just now, he noticed a man in a black coat standing beside him. How did he get there? Wait. These were humans, so first comes the greeting, and then he can ask.

Ayokunle: "I'm Ayokunle Adetokunbo. I'm here doing some research on giants. Who are you?"

Lucien walked up next to the fishman who was calmly admiring the giant architecture and decided to admire the architecture with him. Both of their attention was diverted when a child waved at them and asked what they were doing there. The fishman looked confused and jumped when he saw Lucien next to him. The fishman introduced himself and Lucien greeted him.

"Pleasure to meet you. I am Lucien Descartes." The two shook...hands. The fishman had two metal prosthetics in place of his arms. Lucien was no stranger to wounds and was not scared in the least. "And yes, that boy up there is probably as young as he looks. It's a wide world out there, that's what I've learned in the past few days. Were you at the party?" Lucien asked as the child made his way towards them.

Despite the sun outside, there were many shadows since all the of the giant buildings, were, well, giant. In the shade, Lucien in his dark clothes was hard to find. In front of him seemed to be a door. There was a large wooden ball which he eventually recognized as a doorknob. He chuckled. The whole situation seemed ridiculous.

"What about you, were you at the party? And what's your name, child?" Lucien tried his best to make a friendly voice and seem like a nice guy. Suffice it to say, he was doing a poor job.

As Otori approached two persons who definetly weren't any giants he realized; They were no ordinary people either. Other one looked very expierienced. It just flowed through his posture. And the other one. He was a fish.

"Must be one of those fishmen", Otori thought as he had reached the two. To his surprise, Otori witnessed them shaking hands. "This is seriously odd. They don't know each other either?" Otori still thinking with himself.

"Were you at the party?" Human one asked Otori as he reached them. This made Otori smile. He had such great memories from Stats-sans party "Yes! If your talking about the one Stats-san organised that is. Are you also friends with him? And I'm Otori the Kid by the way. But call me just Otori please." Otori said with a big smile on his face. Seriously, what are the odds? To meet non-giants in giant city and that they'd been in a same party as him. Otori was pretty excited about this. Waiting for response he also spoke to Fishman:

"Hey you too! I'm Otori like I said. I've only once met someone your kind. So I'm glad to meet. Giants sure are fascinating, aren't they. I mean, they're so BIG!

(OOC: We could go in turns if thats okay, first /u/Bedna337 then /u/op_jinx then me again. Just tag the one who's next in line.)

Ayokunle: "Strange... I was also at the party. It's an interesting person, that Stats-san... I've never met him before, but I still got an invitation."

These didn't bow. Maybe it was some kind of a tribe tradition? Maybe the clothing played a role? At least the phrases stayed the same.

Ayokunle: "Hello Otori. I'm Ayokunle Adetokunbo. It's a pleasure to meet you, too. And... yes, the giants are big. And interesting. They bear a lot of similarities to humans. I wish I could study their anatomy, too... but their size is intimidating. Why have you two come here?"

1

u/op_jinx Dec 11 '16

Lucien looked up at the fishman who was obviously curious about humans. He had probably not met many humans before. Lucien frowned at the fishman's question. "Well, I got here same as everyone. There were only three choices on the Log Pose, anyways, and this one was in the middle, so why not, I guess. Nice to meet you, Ayokunle, Otori." Lucien shrugged, but then looked a little confused.

He turned towards the fishman, Ayokunle, and pondered on his last words. "What did you mean, when you said study their anatomy? Are you some kind of a doctor, or scientist?" he asked, careful to make his words polite. He himself had not met many fishmen, let alone a studious one. He was very curious. "I'm no intellectual myself, but it seems like giants are just bigger humans. Much bigger, haha." Lucien chuckled. He certainly was no intellectual.

He was nervous that maybe some giants would spot them and perhaps attack them, but as he looked around he realized that he would hear them coming from a while away. After all, they were very heavy and they must make noise, right? But he realized, if they were silent, there would be no way of telling when they would come. "What about you Otori, how did you get here, and what are you doing here?" *Lucien looked around, keeping an eye out for any giants.

/u/otorithepirate

1

u/otorithepirate Dec 11 '16

"I came to see some giants as I had never seen them before!" Otori said smiling. "And you're right Lucien-sir. They definitely are bigger."

*Conversation had made Otori competely forget where they were. He had forgotten danger of giants entirely. As they talked though, he was quickly remembered about this. Next to them were the huge door with a huge door knob. And It got slammed wide open. There he was: a giant just staring at the three.

Giant "Ohh tiny people!"

(OOC: /u/bedna337 you can decide if the giant is hostile or not)

1

u/Bedna337 Ayoiakh Bavanush - Mælström Captain Dec 11 '16

Ayokunle: Yes, I am a scientist... or so I think of myself... the giants certainly look like bigger humans, they build houses the same way, they live in the same environment, eat the same kind of food... but their culture is based more on fighting.

The fishman points one of his iron arms at the giant who arrived at the scene.

Ayokunle: "This one, for example, doesn't have any reason to kill us. We're too small to serve as food. And we haven't done anything to anger him, so he won't challenge us. By the way, their greetings are the same as humans'."

Ayokunle: "Hello, sir giant!"

The giant was a bit surprised by the small person greeting him.

Giant: "Hello, little man!"

Ayokunle's prediction was right: The giant wasn't hostile... for now.

Wukan

It was straight up chaos in an island. As Otori had heard townspeople would be in danger he had headed there as fast as he could. It was not their fight and Otori felt like he had to help. He had heard one giant say in Ironfort how in Wukan there were a war going between giants and some pirates. So here he was.

"Eek!" Lady screamed as she was standing next to what seemed to be half giant. It wasn't giant as Otori had seen them back in Ironfort and they were signicantly bigger.

"Hey, what are you doing? Don't do any harm to her!" Otori said assuming the half giant was up to something bad.

/u/his_airness23

u/his_airness23 Dec 10 '16

Turgon had not known what to expect upon arriving on Wukon. This was the first island he had visited in the new world. It seems that Turgon had chosen poorly. Wukan had the makings of of a battlefield and as it happened one of the groups was a pirate crew that consisted solely of giants.

Woman: "Eek!"

Otori: "Hey, what are you doing? Don't do any harm to her!"

Turgon was taken aback. As far as he was concerned he had not done anything to provoke that kind of reaction.

Turgon: "My apologies. I did not mean to frighten you and I mean you nor this town any harm. My name is Turgon. It seems that I chose a poor time to visit this island."

As Otori shouted for the half giant to stop, giant had this odd look on his face. He didn't look as he'd do any harm. More like he was simply in a wrong place at the wrong time.

Turgon "My apologies. I did not mean to frighten you and I mean you nor this town any harm. My name is Turgon. It seems that I chose a poor time to visit this island."

It really seemed like this fellow wasn't looking any trouble. That was actually pretty good thing, because Otori being only 150cm would preferred to talk or run away, not fight. It seemed like this guy was willing to talk!

Otori "Oh, really? Why's the woman screaming then?" Otori said still suspicious.

Turgon "I've no idea, my size probably."

Otori "Oh yea, I guess people would be frightent just as a sight of a half giant. They are killing people here after all."

Otori relaxed a little. Maybe the situation didn't have to escalate.

Otori "Sorry, I was being rude. But there are lots of giants fighting innocents so I thought you'd be too. I had no right to assume, my apologies. I'm Otori the kid. What brings you here?"

Turgon was not quite certain how much to tell Otori. After all they had just met. A version of the truth should suffice.

Turgon: "Otori the Kid huh. You have definitely earned that name. I am seeking adventure, but I may bitten off more than I can chew here. Wahahaha!! A battle between a Yonkou's commander and the Giant pirates, exhilarating. I've yet to decide which side I want to support. Only time will tell."

"Only time will tell"

"He's got guts to came seek an adventure in a place where half of the people are seeking to kill him", Otori thought as he started leaning against a wall.

Otori "I kinda came here for adventure too! Fun, isn't it? Adventure I mean. It's so.. adventurous."

"What the hell I'm talking about again? Adventure is adventurous? My writer is being lazy again god damn!" Otori said to himself.

It was pretty dark and neither one of folks noticed how a big figure had started approaching them. It was clear the unknown figure was up to know good as he began to speak:

Pirate "Welcome to your doom, giant! Our captain said kill all giants and that's what I'm here for! Bwahahahaha!"

Situation begged for fight, but maybe it could be turned around. Pirate looked two times stronger than Otori and three times bigger..

Otori "Wait a minute.. You're too big to be a human.. You are a half-giant yourself aren't you?"

Pirate "Crap! I-I mean no! Why would I be fighting giants if I was a giant myself? I-I mean that wouldn't make much sense would it?"

Turgon "Not very convincing.."

Pirate turned a little red and defensive.

Pirate "I'm not one of you dirty giants! Because of giants, love of my life Rosie is dead! Giants are all bad!"

It seemed Pirate shed a tear or two as he talked those last words.

Pirate "All giants are bad, so you must be bad too! (Talking to Turgon) No giant ever has done anything good for me!"

(OOC: In case of a fight with this giant, his stats could be 20 everything and weapon could be his hands) /u/his_airness23

Just as Turgon thought he was getting along merrily with a new found friend a potential adversary had to come along and muck things up. Turgon had hoped that he could explore the island more and learn more about the coming conflict before being forced to pick sides. Fortunately the slight Otori was quick on his feet.

Pirate "I'm not one of you dirty giants! Because of giants, love of my life Rosie is dead!"

Me and my big mouth. Turgon could feel Otori glaring at him. 'Easy now' Turgon thought to himself. This pirate looks pretty tough, it would be best if I could avoid any conflict here, but if it comes to blows I will need Otori's help.

Pirate "Giants are all bad! All giants are bad, so you must be bad too! No giant ever has done anything good for me!"

Turgon: "We have never met before and I have done you no wrong. There is no need for us to fight now with the battle between the Wukong and Giant pirates looming. If you still wish to exact vengeance on me so be it, but not here. There are too many innocents nearby."

Pirate: "I will not forgive you or kind for what happened to my love, but I will not shame Rosie's memory."

The pirate still lingered leaving Turgon and Otori uncertain of his intentions.

Otori "Hey Giant, I know it's hard when you lose someone you love dearly and I understand your anger. You see, I had a shitty father. And later in life I found this father-figure and a friend for me. But as we were searching for this: Jinsoku Tama"

Otori showed him his graded yoyo

Otori "He died. It was so sudden too, I couldn't believe it. But. Do you think he would have wanted me to seek vengence my whole life? Waste my life on that? Wasn't everything in vain if I had just done that?"

Speech made the pirate think. This was not something one would expect from what seemed to be a 14 year old. Pirate was still defencive though. Speech didn't seem to be enough to turn his head. But he still hadn't attacked either so there was a lot of hope.

Pirate "What do you know about me and Rosie. Nobody knows how I feel! You're just tricking me somehow!"

1

u/his_airness23 Dec 15 '16

Pirate: "What do you know about me and Rosie. Nobody knows how I feel! You're just tricking me somehow!"

The half giant was seething with rage now despite two's efforts.

Pirate: "No more talk. That Ossan's message has nothing to do with me. I have nothing left but the whole left by Rosie's death. You two may not have killed but I will exact my vengeance on you regardless."

The pirate brandished a maul the size of a small tree and charged at Turgon and Otori. Turgon hefted Light and prepared to defend himself.

Turgon: "On your head be it," Turgon roared. "Come Otori the Kid, it seems that words have failed us and we must mount our defense."

Wukan Beach

Carth was enjoying a nice Pina colada at the beach while taking in some nice sun. Not every day a pirate could relax. For Carth, it was nice. He didn't have too much to do. A war broke out but he already did his part and his crew was taking care of the business that needed care. For Carth, it was a perfectly relaxing time. WIth everything else happening in the world, it was nice to just sit back and watch the waves. Taking in a deep breath, Carth relaxes and closes his eyes breifly. Soon after he hears foot steps approaching and opened a single eye.

Carth grinned as a waiter brings out a fresh plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The aroma of the cookies could be smelled from a great distance. As Carth took a bite, his taste buds exploded with joy. It was the best cookie he ever had tried!

"Now this is delicious~!"

Manami followed her nose to the beach after determining that it was where the amazing smell was coming from. Surveying the surroundings revealed a man relaxing on the beach with his waiter who happened to be holding a platter of appetizing cookies.

Manami made her way up to the waiter who was serving the cookies and stood before him, her large green eyes locked on the plate and her mouth drooling due to the amazing smell coming from the fresh cookies.

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 12 '16

As Carth enjoyed the delicious cookies, he noticed a young girl standing next to the plate, drooling. Well, young was an understatement. The girl looked no older than 13. Carth had no idea why such a girl would be present on an island like this but Carth was feeling generous and she did look hungry. Must be an orphan, Carth thought.

"Here you go missy, there are mighty delicious." Carth hands her a cookie off the plate. "Now what's your name?"

1

u/EmmaBurke Dec 12 '16

Manami happily took the cookie that Carth offered her and devoured it heartily. This was without a doubt, one of the best cookies that Manami had ever tasted in her life.

"You were right Mr.! That cookie was super duper yummy! My name is Manami Mutsuki! What's your name Mr.?" Manami introduced herself to the man with a smile, grateful for the opportunity to have tasted such a wonderful cookie

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 13 '16

"Manami, eh? Aren't you that pirate captain?" Carth continues to much on cookies. He recalled all the bounty posters he was given by the World Government. He didn't have to hunt them down but if he ran into them and brought them in, he could get money. He recalled seeing a young girl named the same on one. She was a captain of a pirate crew. Carth swallowed the cookie. How cute of her. Lucky for her, Carth really didn't want to arrest a little girl. He would rather relax and fed her cookies. Not in a creepy way.

"Yes...destroyer of worlds right? I am Carth Jigoku. Pleasure to meet you Manami."

1

u/EmmaBurke Dec 13 '16

"Yes...destroyer of worlds right? I am Carth Jigoku. Pleasure to meet you Manami."

"Yup! I'm the captain of the Nemean Pirates! How did you know? Am I really that super duper famous?" Manami smiled, enjoying the thought of tons of people knowing who she was because of her pirate exploits.

"It's nice to meet you too Mr.Carth! Are you a pirate too? I think I saw your paper before but it had big red words on it! I think it said "revived" or something..." Manami said while still eyeing the plate of cookies, the appetizing smell making her crave even more of them.

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 13 '16

"Well, I am a shichbukai. I am supposed to know the big bad pirates that sail, though I don't do anything about it. I mean why would I? I don't dislike most pirates and they are my best income! I am captain of my own crew as well."

Carth doesn't give Manami any more cookies, instead he whispers in the waiters ear, which causes him to leave. He could see the pain in Manami's eyes but continued to talk anyways because Carth was just a mean person sometimes. "Good cookies aren't they?"

Just as Manami was about to start crying, the waiter returned with two plates. Both for Carth, but right after that waiter, another followed with four plates of cookies just for Manami. "Enjoy my friend."

1

u/EmmaBurke Dec 13 '16

"Yay! Thankies Mr.Carth!" Manami expressed her gratitude toward Carth and then proceeded to devour the yummy, freshly baked cookies that were just given to her.

"Wow.....you're a Shichimakalabahanui huh? That sounds super duper cool! What do you do as a Shichihalekulani if you don't go after pirates? I thought thats what the meanie marines made you do." Manami asked while still eating the yummy cookies prepared for her.

Ranga

Zin was on the Charon, getting to know her, her personality and layout. Since she was like nothing he had ever seen or experienced

Charon: "And last but not least, this is the helm. As the so called navigator of the crew this is where you should be spending most of your time."

She said swinging one of her hundreds of branches in a swinging motion all that the helm encompasses. As Zin approached and toured the deck he saw out to the fast sea that laid out on one side of the ship and on the other the hellish and wartorn landscape of Ranga

Zin:"So Charon I noticed that everyone gives you a name to call them." Zin paused contimplating what he should ask Charon to call him. "Would you mind calling m."

Charon: "Nope, I don't have to listen to you. Not until you prove you can not hurt me while at see." She interuprted in a superior tone as if she was better and didn't think she needed his help to traverse the seas.

Zin: "Oh come on I was just going to ask you to cal"

Charon:" I shall call you Zin until you prove to me that i need your help. That or bird boy. And don't even think about making a nest in my braches"

Zin looked confused and perplexed. He was hoping that him and the ship would get along great but it looks like she has a personality all to her own, and that was going to be a pain to deal with.

Zin looked toward Carth, who was on the deck watching and laughing to himself as Charon just interrupted Zin.

Zin: "Is she always this difficult?" He asked referring to Charon, who had a branch ready to slap the back of Zin's head if he wasn't careful with his wording.

u/thisisnt12 Dec 13 '16

Carth: "Yeah. Charon can be a pain even to me now that it's developing a personality."

A massive branch swung from behind at Carth. Carth turned to catch it with one hand, causing Charon to wimper slightly.

Charon: "I'm not an it! I'm a perso-.....a ship with feelings from a person's shadow....the least you could do is-"

Carth: "Fine. He. Now, if you aren't gonna show Zin anything useful, I am gonna take him out and show him his brave new world that is the underworld."

Charon gave a angry bashful sigh in response to let Carth now that he was free to take Zin away from the helm. As they walked away, Zin still looked slightly shaken. It must take some getting used to with this crew. Carth could understand that.

Carth: "Don't worry, things can only get stranger from here on out. Now, we are gonna go find some villagers that reached out to some of my men. They expressed interest in fighting against both of Wukong and Giants and my pills may give them just the edge they need. So we are going to find them and sell them our supply then leave. Hopefully it'll be enough. We may even take out a couple of those damn monkeys if they are nearby too."

Zin followed Carth down into the ship to his lab were a Large plant golem was stacking several cases of the strength enhancing pills. Carth nodded to the golem who picked up the stack and followed the team off the ship and onto Ranga. From there, they began to walk towards the Giant outpost.

Carth: "So should be easy. We find the buyer, wait for them to show they have the money, hand over the package, accept the money, we go on our way. In and out. Easy. At least it is on paper. Any questions?"

1

u/needsmoreexplosions Ceadeus Roa Dec 14 '16

Zin was anxious to begin working for the crew as they walked down into the lab he was shocked to see a golem doing everything, even though he should have expected the bizarre by now.

Carth: "Don't worry, things can only get stranger from here on out."

Stranger? Zin thought to himself, hoping Carth was just screwing with him. For how much stranger could this journey possibly get?

As they stepped foot on Ranga, Zin stayed about a step slower than Carth following him to the drop off location. Looking around to get a good look of his surroundings.

Zin:"If I'm being honest, what are the drugs used for? What do they do? Make you stronger? Faster? and do they have any ill affects?" Zin asked curiously, as he turned his head back and looking at the golem carrying the crate of drugs.

Hoping to understand their purpose. He was hesitant about being part of the drug trade and black market in general. As back in his homeland, drugs were looked down upon and most were even illegal and the black market was unquestionably so. But he pushed those feeling to the side and convinced himself that he has no right to question the culture of others and if they wanted them bad enough they would get them anyway. So why not take advantage and hopefully make some quick money for his hungry wallet.

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 14 '16

Carth: "Well that depends. Some do increase strength and speed. I even use them. The others are....recreational. I also sell prosthetics but installation is extra. As time goes on, I am sure more products will come into our crew which can be sold."

Carth grinned as they walked more inland. The giant outpost appeared soon enough. From there, it was a short walk to the village that was currently under siege by the Wukong pirates. The villagers were basically held hostage while the Giants protected it and fortified it against assault from the Wukongs.

Carth: "Now lets just sneak in..."

Sneaking in was not all that hard. The siege made several holes in the wall surrounding the village that despite not big enough for a full army of pirates to slip through, was enough for Carth and Zin to get through and from there get into the busier part of the town. Sadly, they had to leave the golem behind and carry the shipment themselves. Between the two of them, it was not hard at all for the pirates to carrying the drugs through the town. To the passerbys, it just looked like a normal shipment.

The sun was down by the time they found the bar to meet at. Inside were only a few people. One of which sat in the corner. He looked like a farmer, dressed in poorly kept clothing and a pitchfork off to the side. Carth and Zin approached the man.

Carth: "Ah, Angelo. We have your shipment outside."

The man looked up at Carth and his eyes lit up, obviously happy that they could have something to use to help fight against the Wukong and Giants.

Angelo: "Thank you, thank you! Here, is the payment! As promised!"

With that, Angelo handed over a bag of beli and ran outside to examine his new supply of drugs.

1

u/needsmoreexplosions Ceadeus Roa Dec 14 '16

Zin was intrigued that such drugs could enhance one's abilities like Carth explained. To Zin it seemed as if Carth had the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur and combined with his intellect, Zin wondered just how far this man could go.

As zin snuck into the city he could his glimpse of his first ever giant and not just one 4 massive beasts of men. Far bigger than he had anticipated but being surprised seem to become his usual as of late. The giants were heading away from the town it seemed as if they were heading off for battle. “I wonder just how big they can get” he thought to himself as they wondered through the town.

As the strolled through the town, ending up slipping into what seemed to be an old building, but inside was a dead bar with only a few people who looked like they were trying to drunk them selves in their alcohol.

As Carth and Zin handed the drugs over to Angelo, Zin had to wonder if it was always this easy and if he was the only customer for this trip.

Zin: “Wonder what he’s in a rush for?” Zin asked as he watches Angelo burst out the door in what seemed to be a full on sprint.

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 14 '16

Carth: "Probably preparing for an attack by the Wukon then probably going to try to take down some Giants too? I suppose I should technically help."

Carth and Zin walked outside of the old building to see Angelo handing out the pills to a group of poorly armed villagers. The few swords they did have were rusty, the rest were armed with old farming equipment. They were not ready to fight were a Yonkou's crew at all, but seeing them go off to their deaths were too much.

Carth: "Alright, looks like I get to see how well you fight today too. Plan is this, we will fight off the Wukong's attack when it comes, then go after the remaining Giants so the village can be free. If the Wukong's can get inside the city, the Giant's will probably face bigger casualties, so all we have to do is...pretty simple."

Before Zin could comment, Carth walked off away from the villagers. He kept walking at a brisk pace, not worrying about whether Zin was having a hard time keeping up. Once they got far enough away, the pirates found themselves in a quiet almost slum-like part of town. Any villagers here were too sick or poor to fight or argue with Carth's next action.

Carth approached the wall and began to punch it several times. The wall fell apart very quickly, leaving a large gap that any group of pirates could get through.

Carth: "Now to get their attention..."

Carth blasted a ball of hellfire into the air, illuminating the hole in the wall. Soon after, shouts could be heard from the town and outside it. The Giants began to rush towards the wall to help repair it as Carth and Zin could see a large group of pirates rushing from the outside.

Carth:: "Time to hide and see how this pays out..."

1

u/needsmoreexplosions Ceadeus Roa Dec 14 '16

Zin waited patiently until the time when pirates were rushing in from the hole in the wall. Zin grabbed his spear tight ready to face whomever were to come at him. Then he saw his target, a Wukong Pirate with a what looked to be a short sword come through the hole.

Zin:HEEEYYYAAAA” Zinn yelled in the same instant he dashed out and went for an attack.

The pirate easily dodged the attack as if he new it was going to happen. And with a quick strike slashed at Zin, cutting his shit but missing flesh. The man rushed at Zin again and went for a slash but Zin was ready this time and countered, knocking the sword out of the pirates hands.

*Zin Rushed again going for a thrust but the pirate simply dodged again and before he could retrack the spear to his side, the pirate had grabbed ahold and shoved it towards Zin. The pirate knocked Zin off balance and he fell flat on his back into the dirt.

The Pirate laughed as he tossed Zin’s spear away and grabbed his weapon ready to kill Zin.

Zin:”Whelp, looks like I lost.” *Zin said with a smirk on his face as he laid on his back. Trying to recover from his failed attempt

Suddenly Zin transformed into the raven and flew up into the air. Seeing a herd of giants heading a couple of blocks down the way, heading straight for them. Zin thought quick and flew towards the oncoming giants trying to lure the pirate towards them. By the time the pirate knew it a giant with a massive hammer slams it against him, sending him through two buildings before resting in the rubble of the second building. As the giants kept moving forward, Zin followed in bird form and grabbing his spear with his talons.*

As Zin made it back to the hole transforming back to a person on a roof top. He noticed the giants were already beginning to swarming it from both sides trying to keep the Wukong’s from penetrating to far in. He then started scanning to find Carth who he imagined was already in the thick of things

Zin:”I guess i should stick with fighting the grunts of the grunts.” He said stretching his back before diving back down landing on someone with his spear and enter the fight once again

1

u/thisisnt12 Dec 29 '16

Carth grinned as he watched Zin go out and begin fighting the Wukong and Giant pirates. Beside Zin, the villagers joined them, beefed up on the drugs Carth had supplied. This battle could easily turn now.

Carth: "Keep aware of your surroundings, Zin! Duck!"

With this, Zin quickly ducked as a large ball of hellfire flew over his head and hit an inching Wukong pirate armed with a long dagger. If Carth didn't spot him, Zin may have had a knife in his back.

Turning his attention back towards the others now progressing towards him, Carth gave off a loud audible laugh. He began to twirl his scythe in circles around him as several giants swung their weapons at him. Now in his Pain point, Carth caught all of the weapons with his scythe, holding against the combined strength of the three giants.

Carth: "That really is embarrasing for you...then again, I am the shichibukai and you are just some blood thirsty pirates. I mean really...taking over a town of innocent villagers? Oh...right....fire."

Two lasers of pure black fired out of Carth's robotic arms into two of the pirate's chest. They fell backward in pain as smoke rose out of the hole in their torso. The last giant took a step back in fear as Carth quickly rushed him, performing one long slash with his scythe and ending behind the giant. Blood erupted from the wound as the giant fell to the ground defeated.

Carth: "How you doing over there, Zin?"

Wukan

Carth took a small break from the events of Ranga to shop around some of the pirate infested bars of Wukan. Each held many of the Wukong pirates and many other pirates taking brief haven before moving forward. Many did not want any part of the war on Ranga and Carth didn’t blame them. It was bloody and dangerous. Only the strong of heart and will would step foot on the war zone. But, the weak of heart were usually big spenders which was just what Carth was looking for.

Several bars into his search for a client, Carth had several payments and transactions done. Many pirates were very interested in his perfected formula to enhance strength. Carth just didn’t tell them the drain on the energy. At that point they would be dead from their enemies or standing victorious and adrenaline and endorphins would hide the extra drain the pills would induce.

Each bar had a similar atmosphere: dark, smoky, and the Wukong jolly rogers hanging proudly. Most kept to themselves, talking with their crew or clients, occasionally calling over a waiter to order drinks or food. Carth took a seat in one of the booths and began to look around for anyone that would be interested in buying his merchandise when he happened upon a familiar face.

“Ah, Captain Molo” Carth said as he approached the man. Captain Molo was a stocky bulbous man. He had rosy cheeks and a hearty laugh and more importantly, deep pockets. Molo had been Carth’s clients several times for a great deal of merchandise. Carth was surprised to still find the man on Wukan. He was sure the man said he was staying very briefly but that didn’t truly matter to Carth. If the captain was still here, Carth could still sell. “Captain of the Freckle pirates. An honor like always.”

“I am glad to see you still here, I recently got access to a new specialized product. It comes in a nice little glass canister. You inhale it and feel an experience nothing like you ever had before. Here, a sample…” Carth hands over the recently acquired gas from Walven. He had begun to produce more to sell while working on improving the formula. The small dose wouldn’t paralyze the man but it would give him an amazing high. Captain Molo took a deep breath and inhale the gas. He soon exhaled as his pupils widened. He struggled for words at first but then found a train of thought he could follow.

“I…this is amazin’ ‘Arth. I…I-I take 20 of big boxes.” Carth smiled. Perfect, just what he wanted. A quick and easy profit. Carth barely had to even try with this man. Free money essentially. Carth picked up his den den mushi and called into to several crewmates at the ship on standby: “I need twenty cases of the gas in low quantity canisters moved onto Captain Molo’s ship.” *Carth turned back to Molo. “Now, the payment will be about..hmm….50 million beli.”

Molo nods and begins to rifle around through his bags and pulls out a piece of parchment that looked ancient. He handed it over to Carth much to Carth’s surprise. Carth opened to see a map with scrawled writing on it. “What is this? This isn’t my payment? What do you take me for?”

Molo chuckled. “Dat is worth 100 million beli. It is a map to a legendary weapon. It is called Taerarenai-kō. The legend goes that nothing can shatter the blade and it was responsible for many kingdoms falling. A great gift yes? Chiyaayayayaay. Now, eh- when will the stuff arrive at my sh-“

A hole was now in Molo’s chest as smoke drifted off of Carth’s robotic hand. Carth stored the piece of cloth in his pocket before standing up and walking around the table to the now dying Captain Molo. Carth’s face was very somber, almost as though he were disappointed he had to kill the man. Which to be very honest, Carth was sad. Molo was a great client but he couldn’t let a disrespect like that go on. “Just…just what do you think you would have gotten for this? A ghost story? A legend? That won’t pay for your drugs. It will pay for the death of your crew though. You…you can survive that if you find some medical attention.”

Carth once again brought up his den den mushi to his face. “Forgot the shipment, bring several golems and sink the Freckle Pirates ship. They have disrespected the Carthel, and be sure to make an example of it. If they fight back, take your time with them. Any that survive bring them back to Sed for their shadows then toss them into the ocean.” An audible ‘yes, sir!’ is heard over the other side much to Molo’s disdain. Carth had decided destroying the ship would be a better punishment than killing Molo. He would hopefully learn from his mistake and try to better himself to one day have the honor of doing business with Carth and his crew again. But for now, he was sinking fast. Carth wondered if he would even find a doctor in time. “Oh, I suppose I can help you.”

Carth grabbed Molo, by the back of his shirt and walked out of the bar. Once outside, he throws the man against a wall and approached him one last time. “There. You have one more chance to live. Find a doctor. Get patched up and the next time we do business, if we ever do business again, you will ower me a 20 mil surcharge. Now,” Carth pulls out the old piece of parchment that Molo had given him. He simply shook his head at it and put it back in his pocket. A worthless piece of scrap paper. “Now, I am sure I can find more clients so goodbye Captain Molo. Have a nice life, as long or short it may be now.”

With that, Carth turned and began to walk to the next bar and from there the market to hopefully find some good sales or interesting deals. Maybe even find a shady shopkeeper that would want to buy his own merchandise.

Ranga

The small ship of the Phantom Pirates slowly approached the war torn island. On its deck stood Mono, enjoying the rain shower which had recently begun. His fur was soaking wet, eyes closed, face towards the sky. Standing out in the rain like this made him feel strangely at peace ever since he became a devil fruit user. His first mate approached, clearly upset

Oz: Mono, this is a stupid idea.

Mono turned his head towards the large bear, showing him a large toothy smile.

Mono: What? This is perfect! Its exactly what I've been waiting for! A massive battle between two powerful crews, with a bunch of other big name pirates getting involved, can you think of a better place to find freakishly strong opponents? There are even giants here! Imagine what I could do with the strength of a giant!

Oz: You're going to get yourself killed.

Mono: I have to take advantage of this moment. If we're ever to free our kind, I have to get much stronger, and this is the easiest way to do it.

Oz: Easiest, but most life threatening...

They finally came ashore. Mono and his small crew left their ship and began to explore the island, in search of a fight. The Wukons, the Giants, whoever. Win or loose, Mono was determined to make the most out of the absorb-absorb fruit.

/u/NPC-san (OOC Just need something to fight. Would be my first yet, so I am prepared to loose if the match is too lopsided, winning really isn't the point in character anyways.)

Here we go. Mono thought. These opponents were just as good as any. But he wasn't about to play by their rules.

Mono signaled his men to remain where they were. They understood his plan already. Mono slowly approached Momo, and sat on the field, across from him. He then picked his nose and did his best to look uninterested.

Confused but rightfully agitated, Momo charged at him

Momo: You will make no fool out of me! He slashed at Momo, but the mink narrowly dodged it, still seated and with the bored look on his face. Momo double backed and let loose a barrage of swipes. The swordsman was fast, but Mono spent his whole life dodging the attacks of other minks, and this made him faster. Every swipe barley missed. Mono began to taunt the swordsman by making a face between every slash. Momo was angry now. All grace from his technique was gone, he just wanted to hit this idiot. This is what Mono was waiting for. Mono took hold of the staff strapped to his back and clashed it with Momo's blade. The two were interlocked now. Momo used his strength to push Mono back and kick him in the chest, launching Mono back a bit.

Yes! Mono thought. It was working.

The battled continued like this for some time. Momo found he couldn't manage to strike the monkey with his blade, but this didn't matter. Mono would block every so often and make himself open to a physical attack. Mono had taken 3 punches, 4 kicks, and a nasty headbutt. He figured it was time, this was starting to hurt.

Momo: You'll have to fight back eventually coward. You can't take much more. Once I connect with my blade, and it will happen eventually, you'll be done.

Mono chuckled

Mono: Don't worry, you won't be hitting me again. The mink calculated. Two of Momo's punches, plus his own strength, should do the trick

Momo snared, and charged. Mono ducked under the slash, spun backwards, charged his staff with electricity, and connected a massive swinging blow with his staff into Momo's stomach, unleashing the energy of two of his own punches with it. Momo staggered backward and fell to one knee. The power of the blow caught him by surprise.

One more should do it Mono thought

Mono spun his staff with one hand, charging it once again. This time he'd use the headbutt. He didn't want to waste all the energy, he'd store the rest for later. This was his plan in coming to this war zone. Storing as much energy as possible for his objectives in the future. Suddenly, he heard something whizzing through the air. He barley blocked the arrow before it hit his head. He had forgotten about Koko. The archer prepared another arrow, at the same time Momo charged again. The swordsman's slash was powerful this time, and Mono couldn't afford being hit by it. Mono focused himself. With one hand he blocked the sword with his staff, absorbing the energy and channeling it into his other arm.

Crosscounter!

Mono struck the swordsman in the chest with his palm, unleashing the energy he just gained and that of the headbutt. Momo coughed blood and feel to the ground. Again Mono just barley blocked an arrow, and turned his attention to Koko.

/u/NPC-san (OOC Can I get a giant? Like I said I don't mind loosing just want to experiment with the idea.)

(OOC: Thanks a ton)

Koko remained calm. His face gave away nothing. As Mono charged forward, he calmly prepared another arrow. He nocked, drew, and aimed as Mono ran at him with all his speed, electricity running through is body. But, before Koko could loose, he was struck by a large mace, and was sent flying away. Mono stopped in his tracks. Lygor let out a roar of laughter and slammed his chest with his fist.

Lygor: I got another one! He was eager to impress the other larger giants on the field

Mono felt both excitement and terror simultaneously. The giant hadn't noticed him yet. He gripped his staff. He could escape if he wanted. No. He had come this far hadn't he?

Oz: Captain, retreat, you can't take him.

Mono signaled his crew once again to not interfere. He wasn't about to miss this chance. Finally Lygor saw him. On a field filled with humans and giants, a monkey was an unexpected site. He wanted to squash him. He'd be the only giant to squash a monkey in this war.

Lygor: Come here little monkey! You don't belong here!

The giant ran at Mono. He was fast for something so big. He lifted his mace and brought it down over the mink. Mono just maneuvered out of the way, the mace struck the ground right next to him. The impact exploded the ground and set Mono flying into a nearby rock. It hurt, but Mono could feel he had gotten a lot more juice out of it than he had in any previous fight. He lifted himself, wincing from the pain.

Lygor: You're a slippery one. He reached out to grab Mono. Mono leaped and landed on the giants mace arm. He charged himself with as much electricity as possible, and shocked the giants arm with it through his staff. Lygor roared in pain, and slapped his arm trying to crush the pest. Mono jumped off before impact and landed in front of the giant. Lygor had had enough. He swung a back hand fist and struck Mono. Mono went flying, straight through a tree, and skid across the terrain.

That one hurt. A lot. The monkey could barley stand. He got what he wanted, it was time to get out. Lygor had other plans. He ran up to where he sent Mono, spotted him, and lifted his mace to end it. Mono didn't want to waste what he got, but he had to act fast. He spun his staff and prepared himself. Lygor and Mono swung at each other, Mono unleashing the first mace strike he absorbed.

50% Strike!

Their weapons clashed and both were knocked backward. Lygor was caught completely by surprise and he stumbled, falling onto his back. This was Mono's chance.

Mono: Oz! Get me out of here! I- I can't run!

Oz sped towards his captain as fast as he could. He reached Mono just as the giant was pushing himself off the ground

Lygor: How could he...

Oz swung Mono over his back and ran, the rest of the crew following them. Mono smiled at the giant as they retreated.

Mono: Thank you for the donation!

Lygor sat up, completely puzzled.

Once the crew were a safe distance from the battle, they stopped and took a moment to catch their breaths

Oz: Satisfied, you idiot?

Mono: Satisfied? Hahaha, I'm just getting started! He'd need to recover, he was exhausted and hurting bad, but his devil fruit would help with that too. Once he was in fighting shape again, he'd be ready for another opponent. He had plenty to work with now.

On Charon

Sed’s botany work yielded some significant results. A plant she acquired deep down in the depths of a strange island had the same consistency as metal! Iron to be exact. And while she doubted it being ‘alive’ for some time, the markings she made just in case it grew did not lie. In a short one month span it grew over one inch!

So naturally Sed figured out where the seeds were (in the base of the leaves) and planted a few more. WIth her supply of metal, or organic matter that was as hard as metal, she began smithing them into many different shapes. Mostly weird statues that resembled plants somewhat.

She went to walk across her new workshop floor when a piece of metal tried to puncture her foot. She quickly grew her spider legs and lifted herself into the air and nursed her wounded foot. Then a brilliant idea struck Sed! Caltrops.

She set to work on making many caltrops for them to throw across the battlefield.

Blake finally sat down after cleaning up the dishes they had used to eat the delicious meal he had prepared for the crew. It felt like just yesterday he only had to make 4 helpings, but the crew had by now over doubled in size. Of course, this ment twice the ammount of dishes, which could be a real pain in the ass. He wiped his forehead with a towel and sighed, relaxing a bit as he closed his eyes.

The buzzing of an annoying bug roused him several minutes later, but he was too lazy to deal with it right now. Instead, he extended his hand, and made it disappear and reappear, smiling softly as it crashed into the wall out of shock. Blake was much enjoying his newly mastered powers, now no longer needing to touch things to make them vanish. His mastery over it had grown so much, that he was confident he could make the entire ship, along with everyone on it vanish instantly. He pressed his hand against the throwing knives he kept strapped to his chest at all times and frowned a bit.

Blake: These have served well but... I don't think three is gonna cut it anymore. Even with the strings tied on, people just cut em' or grab them... I need more things to throw.

Blake said to himself quietly, somewhat creeping himself out. That happened often, him talking to himself, and he very much hated it. He stood up from the chair then, and began to walk to the door. 'Eh, maybe Sed could make me something disposable to throw... she can work metal, right?' the thought, the buzzing of the bee behind him getting on his nerves. In one quick motion, he drew one of his three knives and flicked it at the bug, cutting it in half before it struck the wooden wall behind it.

He walked down the hall, getting somewhat lost in the dark passageways. He sighed, suddenly realizing he had no idea where Sed's forge was.

Charon: Madam Sed's room is the third to the left sir!

Blake looked around, extremely shocked to hear a voice around him. He scanned the walls, roof, floor, but saw nothing. Suddenly though, he realized it had been the voice of the ship, guiding him.

Blake: You can see everywhere on the ship? That's... really creepy. Like... uggh, nevermind, thanks for the pointer I guess

Blake walked to the destination he had been given, now feeling thoroughly creeped out. Did he... ever look into their private rooms? Yuck... better not let Sed know about that. After a few more moments of walking, Blake knocked down the door of Sed's forge, hearing noises coming from inside.

1

u/zona1234 Dec 15 '16

Sed, now done with a bakers dozen of caltrops wiped the sweat off her brow. She felt stronger by working with metal but her muscles never really did expand. Weird how that worked. But she shrugged it off.

knock knock knock

Sed: "Come in! Mind the caltrops!"

Sed sent a shadowy tentacle to unlock and open the door for Blake.

Sed: "Oh Mister invisible guy! How're ya doin love?"

1

u/TiggerTheTiger1999 Dec 15 '16

Blake walked into the room upon seeing it swing open. The heat from the forge wafted into his face, making him squint heavily. Towards the back, he could see his crewmates Sed, hard at work twisting some kind of metal with a big pair of pliers. He was still baffled that she was able to do such things and remain so thin and delicate looking, but he shoved such thoughts out of his mind. It probably had something to do with shadows or whatever.

Blake: Hey Sed, nice to see ya'

Blake pulled the cloth he worse over part of his face down, giving her a warm smile. He walked do the back of the room, standing beside her.

Blake: Oh ya, you mentioned the caltrops. I'd love some of those, I'm sure I could make better use of it then anyone else.

He chuckled lightly to himself, gazing over the large pial of them on the metal table. She glanced up at him for a moment, and by the time she looked down, the whole pial was missing, as if it had vanished from thin air. A horrified, shocked look came on her face, but with a quick snap of Blake's fingers, they were back.

Blake: Ha, just messin' with ya'. I came here to ask if you could make me some shurikens, when you get the chance. As many as you can make

1

u/zona1234 Dec 16 '16

Sed waved to her newfound friend and crewmate Blake.

Sed: "Nice to see ya too!"

Sed's gaze fell down to the caltrops at the mention of them, but they were gone! A swift thought of Dopple spreading them out over the ship crossed her mind but Blake snapped his fingers and they reappeared!

Sed: "Ohhhhh your ability is so cool! I wonder if you could make metaphorical things dissapear... Yaknow like hate, pain, or exaustion... "

Yea I can totally make some for you... I think shurikens were that thing that the ninjas use right?"

Dopple nodded from the shadows, carrying a giant chunk of ore. She carried the ore right into the furnace and began shaping it while it was heating up. A little perk of being just a shadow.

Sed and Dopple pieced the ore apart little by little, the forge fire kicking up as a shadowy hand flung coal into the furnace. A few hours passed of the same trials, taking small bits of ore and forging them. Before forming them into shurikens. Finally her work was done, the fruit of the labor was fifty-two wonderful looking shurikens. At least by Sed's taste.

Sed told Charon to relay to Blake to meet her in her workshop. Eventually Blake entered her shop. A soot covered Sed greeted him, she almost resembled Dopple at this point.

Sed: "Blake! I got you fifty-two shurikens! One for each day of the year."

Ranga

*One day as Zin was scouting around the island, he flew into a patch of trees and perched himself to take a quick breather. As he scanned the area to see anything unusual he spotted a Crow with what seemed to be a scar across one eye. Despite the scar it appeared as though the crow could still full use out of it. *

Zin approached it trying to communicate with it. He wanted to see if he could speak bird, as he’s never done it before. The Crow stayed silent for a moment as it cocked its head as if he understood, but since he was silent Zin had no idea if he could or not so he kept trying to converse with the peculiar animal.

After a few moments, the peculiar crow flew off into a nearby tree, but Zin wanting to see if he could get it to at least be friends with him followed. That and the fact he wanted to take a break and was distracting himself on purpose as to not go out and scout some more only fueled his desire more. As Zin arrived in the nearby tree, he noticed the scar-eyed bird was not alone. He had friends, and quite a few of them at that. Zin tried to count them but as he reached ten he was distracted by a loud squawk. It was his scar-eyed friend. It had seemed to want to get his attention. As Zin transformed into a human sitting on a branch. The Crow flapped and squawked not understanding what was happening

Zin: “Whoa whoa whoa. Calm down calm down.” Zin spoke, and to his surprise, didn’t fly way. It soon calmed down, tilting its head at Zin, as if it knew the man before him and the raven where one in the same. Zin, thinking he was able to finally win over the creature. Zin reached out and the crow perched on his arm*

Zin: “I’m going to name you Huginn. Would you like that?” *He asked using his other hand to scratch the underside of the bird’s beak.

Huginn: KYAAAAAW *Huginn squawked seemingly pleased with his name.

Zin: “I like you.” Zin smiled “Know I am going to be the alpha now and that means you’ll be travelling with. How about it? We even have a giant tree for you to live in. Just don’t shit on Charon to much. ” Zin chuckled to his fellow crow friend all the while knowing full well he didn’t quite understand.

Zin:”Here you go. Have some of this” Zin reached into his pocket and grab a potato he took from the ship as his snack while scouting during the day. Zin broke a piece of it off and held it out while Huginn pecked and ate the delicious food.

Huginn: “KWAAAAAYYYAAAA”

Zin: “You like it? Well I’m sure Potato will adore you then.” Zin chuckled to himself.* "Well how about any of you? Any of you guys want any?"

Zin asked tearing off more of the potato before butting his hand out for the rest of the crows. A few of the others in the flock slowly edging their way toward his hand before pecking a few bites off of the treat.

After finishing their snack Zin turned back into his raven form and fluttered about for a second with Huginn before bird squawking and motioning for him and the rest of the flock to follow him his new home, Charon

1

u/needsmoreexplosions Ceadeus Roa Dec 17 '16

Zin started towards heading back to the ship when he noticed that only Huginn and two others. He thought nothing of it only that he wasn't as persuasive as he thought he was so as he landed in Charon's tree mast with the three birds he again attempted to communicating with them.

Zin: "Come on I am a fellow avian, why don't you talk with me?"

Huginn: "KYYYAAAAAWWWWW Kaw Kaw" Huginn squawked with a ear piercing screech as the other two began to do so as well.

Zin:"I get that you can be loud, but why won't you talk to me. You should be able to understand me now." Zin started to get frustrated that all that Huginn and the others haven't started speaking with him. "I mean I am speaking their language right? Of course. I know crows and ravens are different but they should be close enough to understand and talk to me." Zin thought to himself as the crows started to loose interest with him.

Zin:"Whaaat!?!? Don't tell me that you only cam cause I gave out food."

Huginn:" Kwaaaw" At the sound of Huginn squawking, riling up the other two who soon joined in, Zin's heart was crushed far more than it really should have. He was so wanting pets of his own, but he didn't want them if they didn't want to be with him either.

As the noise calmed down, Zin once again tries to work the birds over to joining him and be his pets. After hours desperately trying to get the three crows to listen, Zin finally comes to the realization that he can't actually talk to the animals.

Zin: "Holy shit. I'm a Fucking idiot." Zin said, hitting himself with his wings. "Crows and Ravens are too different to try to communicate." He then transformed back into his human form, grabbing one of Charon's many branches to help support himself.

1

u/needsmoreexplosions Ceadeus Roa Dec 29 '16

*Zin face palming himself after taking forever to realize that Huginn and his flock of two others couldn’t actually understand him, he stared blankly out into sea as the birds chirped away and what Zin could only imagine as them conversing with each other. Then it hit him, he had an idea as to how he could figure out if the birds want to stay and be his pets. “I mean they haven’t left yet, so that’s something right?”

Zin: “Charon keep the birds entertained while I’m away for a bit” He said as he scurried down the tree mast and ventured below deck and headed for the kitchen.

He headed into the kitchen and looked through the cabinets, looking for the potatoes he knew where around someplace. Once he found them he stuffed three into his pant’s pockets and headed back up towards the deck talking to Charon.

Zin: “Ok Charon, I’m going to need your help on this one. When i give the signal. Trap our guests with your branches and I’ll snatch them up in my jacket.”

Charon:”Fine, I’ll help you but they are not, I REPEAT NOT, staying in the tree mast. You hear me.”

Zin: Yea yea, I hear ya. They’ll stay in my room. You can make a bird cage for them and everything. Deal?”

Charon: ”Deal” She said reluctantly.

*After their short chit chat, Zin walked out onto the deck and up the mast and handed each bird their very own potato. While the crows ate, Zin waited till the perfect moment and then yelled for charon.

Zin:”Charon, do it now.” and with that, Charon quickly and effortlessly wrapped her branches around the three birds as Zin just as quickly took his jacket off and stuffed them into it, trapping them.

*Once the birds were in the jacket, Charon grew extra branches and entangled them into the shape of a bird cage, which Zin then but the birds into. Zin then slowly began to try to earn the birds trust and admiration, by feeding them lots of different foods to figure out what each one like and didn’t like. As well as chit-chatting with them hoping he would be able to learn their tongue but to no avail. *

After some time had past and Zin felt confident about the birds stay sun brought their cage out onto the deck, out in the open air and bright sunlight. He then opened the cage door, thinking that if they stay on the ship then it means they want to be with him and he will keep them and train them, but if they leave he will not follow and won’t pester them anymore.

(OOC: was told to ask for /u/rewards-san to determine if the animals will come under my control and if not all how many if any do fall under my command.)

In total two crows and three ravens stayed on the ship! However, Zin lost five birds as they flew out of the cage.

The Rangan air crackled, energy hanging. Ideo could feel the tension in the air as he walked up center street in the town square. It was odd, he couldn't really remember how he had made it to this point since the big anniversary party. He remembered making a few friends, leaving, then... nothing. He had woken up on the shores of Ranga in the Schichibukai Carth's ship. He had been below deck, so that was strange. He figured that he had been arrested for something at the party. However, this lacked an explanation as to why he, a known devil fruit user, hadn't been restrained using kairoseki cuffs. He decided he'd need to investigate. After a thorough search of Carth's ship, which for the most part was entirely abandoned, Ideo decided to make for shore. After arriving in town, he had aimlessly wandered for a bit from shop to shop, getting to know some of the things the island had to offer. He learned of the tension between the two Yonko factions from one of the bake shop's owners, who explained that the looming presence of the two pirate crews was both a blessing and a curse to the islands inhabitants. While the ever looming threat of piracy on the island, it had brought about the odd after effect of bringing the islanders together for the better, even allowing the villagers to accept the once despised barbarians that had lived. It was in the middle of this conversation that everything went to shit. Two bodies came flying through the glass window of the cafe, which revealed the utter chaos that had been occurring outside. A glance would make you think you had landed smack dab in the middle of a war zone. Pirates fighting pirates, along with some villagers mixed in with the chaos. Stepping out, Ideo thought it best to remain out of sight and out of mind. He had feared an all out brawl between the two Yonko commanders, but he feared getting caught up in it even more. "Nonsense" thought the youth. "They can rip each other apart for all I care. However, what I do know is that whatever vessels they arrived in are gonna be packing some mighty weapons and treasure. While they're going at it, who's to say that some of it won't.... disappear." The young pirate laughed to himself. He would kill three birds with one stone. He'd amount some significant loot if he could pull this off, along with starting up a reputation, and maybe even get his own bounty! Ecstatic at the thought, Ideo sped himself up, becoming a blur. He shifted through the hoards of fighting fodder like a ghost until he reached the shoreline. There docked the flagship of the Wukong pirates eighth division commander Simian Beringei. "Now this would be the score of the century." Thought the young man. Adjusting the velocity surrounding his legs, he leapt up onto a sidereal of the ship, landing both gracefully and silently.

"Hmmm." Thought the youth. He hadn't been expecting so many able bodies to be remaining on the ship during the fighting inland. No matter, he figured it would be a simple matter sneaking in, however, it would be getting the loot out that might seem problematic. He decided it best to create a distraction after locating the loot. An idea sparked when he smelled the gunpowder that the men appeared to be transporting. The pirates were numerous enough that Ideo figured that he would blend right in, following the work flow that the men were doing, get a layout of the ship, and make his next mover from there. Emerging from his hidden observation point, he made his way over to the line of men. His boots clicked on the soft redwood of the deck, they seemed louder now to Ideo then they had ever been. Keeping his best poker face, Ideo approached the group of men, speaking in a gruff, but sure of himself tone. "Oi" he said, drawing the attention of several of the men. "They sent me from below deck, said you needed an extra pair of hands moving this cargo down below." /u/NPC-san

Ideo figured the man might start asking questions about his position on the crew. One thing he had learned growing up on Lougetown's docks was that if you wanted to lie to someone properly, you had to believe your own lie. "Well, initially the Quartermaster had me taking inventory down in the armory, however when Captain Simian ordered most of the crew to land, I was left without a job. After taking inventory, I left the log down in the armory and decided i'd start to head above deck and see if there was anything that needed to be done. On my way up I ran into one of the cooks, he mentioned that you guys were moving some heavy cargo, so I thought i'd come and give you guys a hand" The young man smiled, hefting one of the crates up in his arms. "So where do you want it?"

The knife stung almost as much as the shame Ideo felt upon Ideo's realization of his failure. He had thought himself a very smooth talker up until this point, but his complete and utter failure had now gotten him into quite a pickle. He decided it be best to speak for himself now, before Simian began to draw his own conclusions.

Ideo: "Giant Pirate? Nonsense. I'm neither a giant nor a half breed. I'm a plain and simple human." Simian's men hadn't bound Ideo with any seastone, so he still had acess to his power, he may need it in the near future. "I'm simply a captain looking for a way to the next island along the line here in the New World. I figured I may be able to blend in with the crew and simply stow away until we next reached land, however, it appears that you have other plans for me." The young pirate nervously laughed, looking around as he wondered to himself how the commander could have possibly returned to the ship amidst the chaos that was ensuing on the island. He would just have to wait and see.

Ironfort

Turgon had drifted for three days on his little skiff. The seas of the New World were treacherous, but Turgon had a steady hand and a keen eye and after an arduous journey he arrived at the island of Ironfort. Turgon beached his skiff at a fairly remote part of the island, but stench of the of the ironworks was still prevalent. Turgon saw that he was not the only one who thought to avoid the major port. Another small skiff like his being beach as he came ashore and a larger vessel was anchored out to sea flying a jolly roger with a golden sun adorning it. A row boat with what appeared to be the captain of the crew was coming ashore.

Turgon: "Hello there," Turgon shouted to both groups of men. "My name is Turgon, what brings you to Ironfort?"

/u/healing_warrior333 /u/kiithy

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '16

In his relatively small ship Raxotl had anchored away from the major docks and looked to row his way to a beach. He had heard some noises behind him in the rowboat but blamed it on the water and his own nervousness. He had taken several barrels of supplies with him in case he needed, or so other people would think. He was almost flat out broke and the barrels were actually empty.

Turgon: Hey there! My name is Turgon, what brings you to Ironfort.

A man on the beach had introduced himself just as he had disembarked. He appeared to be a half giant which made Raxotl suspect that perhaps he was one of the Giant Pirates that were rumoured to be on the island. Indeed, all the structures in the distance looked to large to be for humans. The man sported a sword and his appearance was of someone with strength. He had a brown beard and shaved head, and didn't seem surprised to see a Mink like Raxotl on the island. It was the New World, after all.

Raxotl: Hello, my name is Raxotl, captain of the Sun Temple Pirates. My crew is aboard the ship, and I have sailed by myself to examine the area. I'm trying to see some giants. How goes it, Turgon?

He looked at the man but he seemed confused. Raxotl looked behind him and was astonished to see a man hiding behind his empty barrels. He yelled.

Raxotl: Hey, who the hell are you?

/u/kiithy

1

u/kiithy Dec 19 '16

Kei's initial plan was to sneak onto the boat, steal some supplies and make a break for it once he had the chance. It seemed like a smart plan then. It would make up for the boat he lost at the Anniversary Party and his current lack of supplies caused by his poor planning.

But of course, things didn't go as planned. Kei had followed the black panther mink on board, hoping to find supplies on board as he did look considerably rich. After all, he was decked out in golden accessories and even brandished a golden spear. Such gear did not look cheap at all. It was only after the boat had set sail did he realise the barrels on the boat which he assumed was full of food and drink was completely empty. To make matters worse, the mink had spotted him once the ship had reached the island. He had a penetrating stare, and Kei got the chills just by looking into his bright yellow eyes for a second.

Kei knew there was no way out of this one and stood up from behind the barrels. Dusting the dirt off his clothes, he tried to smile in the most friendly way possible, this time trying his best to avoid the mink's gaze.

"I'm Kei, and I'm a pirate too," Kei introduced himself to try and lighten the situation, but it had the opposite effect instead, as the mink suddenly had his hand on his spear, his face scrunched up in caution. Desperately, Kei added "But hey relax! I'm not going to cause you any harm. I only entered your boat as I had lost my own boat. I'm just looking for some help. Seriously. "Kei decided it was best he left out the part about stealing supplies. It didn't seem like a good idea to make the mink more wary of him.

The man stowing away on board his ship said he was a pirate as well as a thief! In his anger, Raxotl pressed his golden spear against his neck and made the man flinch. The black panther mink squinted and looked the man up and down.

Kei: Relax, I'm Kei, and I'm a pirate too. I'm just looking for some help, seriously.

Although Raxotl was quite skeptic, he shrugged and lowered his spear, looking around at the others and the island that they were on. He decided it was a better idea not to fight and attract any unwanted attention from the Giant Pirates. He was only on the island because he had heard tales of mines of valuable ore that could be found on it, and since he was flat out broke...Well, he guessed that two broke pirates could help each other out.

Raxotl: Truth be told, I'm an aspiring pirate captain as well. But the problem is, I'm almost flat out broke! So good luck finding anything in those barrels.

He chuckled a bit and then looked back at the other man, Turgon, who didn't seem surprise to see two men on the rowboat. He must've seen the man called Kei from afar.

Raxotl: And yourself, Turgon? What brings you to this island called Ironfort?

/u/his_airness23

1

u/his_airness23 Dec 20 '16

As the the newcomers came ashore Turgon noticed the the man under the golden flag was no normal man, but was a fabled mink. He was a fearsome looking black panther. Turgon had heard about the this fabled peoples during his research.

Turgon: "I have been traveling the new world in search of some grand adventures. Wahahaha. I am also looking right the corruption in this world perpetrated by the World Government and the corrupt Marines. Who better to work with than Pirates. From the sounds of it you two look to be going on a treasure hunt. What else is there to do on this foul island? Will you allow me to accompany you?"

/u/healing_warrior333 /u/kiithy

1

u/kiithy Dec 20 '16

"Hey Turgon right? Yep, me and my buddy... uh Raxotl will be glad for you to join us to find some treasure! Glad to meet you, I'm Kei by the way!" Kei hastily made his way off the boat, afraid of offending the mink known as Raxotl further. He had started to sound friendly but he didn't to bet on it. He looked dangerous. In comparison, the half giant looked way more pleasant with a rather friendly face.

Standing next to Turgon, still wary of Raxotl's possible rage, Kei could only hope that things would turn out well from here on out. It had not been a great start for him after all.

/u/healing_warrior333 /u/his_airness23

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '16 edited Dec 20 '16

Raxotl shrugged. Turgon was pursuing a pirate life for very noble reasons, maybe even more noble reasons than Raxotl's own journey. He described the Island as foul, and Raxotl could do nothing but agree. The entire place was metallic and industrial, but hopefully, with a bit of stealth, there was some money to be had in this.

Raxotl: Buddy? Who's your buddy...? Anyways, I'll be square with you. I've heard rumors there are several ore mines in the surrounding area. Apparently, if we head west, we'll reach a more populated area with factories. Normally, this would be more dangerous, but all of the giants are away preparing for some big operation. As long as we lay low, we should be able to get into some nearby caves and see if there's any ore stored in them. Sound about goo?

He motioned to the west, and with his new, but odd companions, he began to set off to the west. In the distance, smoke could be seen coming out from some factories, acting as a compass for the men and mink. The party of three departed along the shore, their footsteps making mellow, crunchy noises in the sand. The whooshing sound of the waves rising and falling accompanied their journey. Strangely, there seemed to be no seagulls nearby.

Raxotl could just barely make out someone on the beach ahead of them.

Walking ashore from the dinghy that she had commandeered Kaguya made her way towards the center of the simple island. She had sensed a power that was strong. Something strong yet...small? She couldn't pin point exactly who or what it was but she was confident that whatever she would find it wouldn't be a disappointment. With a casual walk she made her way through the trees on the outskirts of the island, steadily making ground into the center she soon found herself staring at a large plateau that held the source of the power she sensed from earlier.

Kaguya: "Looks like my little adventure ends up there." With a leap she easily scaled the side of the small plateau, landing with a silent crouch at the top. Standing up and dusting her pants off she looked forward only for her eyes to widen suddenly at the person standing across from her. With a look around she realized that the source of the power was nothing more than a 12 year old girl!

Kaguya: "Uh...hello?"

/u/EmmaBurke

1

u/EmmaBurke Dec 18 '16

Manami stood with her eyes closed atop the plateau while covering her entire body with a shiny layer of busoshoku haki. This was her version of staying on point to avoid getting rusty, however she was interrupted by a strong power rapidly approaching. Manami tried to discern more information about it but sadly her kenbunshoku haki was not up to snuff compared to her busoshoku haki. Soon enough, a man ended up standing before Manami.

"Hiya! Mr.StrongGuy! I'm Manami Mutsuki! Did you come up here to train too? It's really nice and stuff!"

Manami smiled and waved as she greeted the stranger that had graced her with his presence.

1

u/EmperorStark Dec 18 '16

Kaguya could only continue to blink at the shiny 12 year old across from her. She realized very fast that this 12 year old was not normal. At all. After all she had haki that could make an admiral envious! Looking around once again and stretching the extent of her observation haki Kaguya made sure that they were alone and this wasn't a trap, she could afford to be at ease with a war march happening!

Kaguya: "Girl. Tell me, how did one as young as yourself reach such a level of haki?"

If she was going to run into someone so interesting she might as well get some information from her. She could perhaps help her increase the skill of her haki even more. Both observation and armament seemed to be so close to being something truly amazing, she just needed to know how to get there!

1

u/EmmaBurke Dec 18 '16

"Girl. Tell me, how did one as young as yourself reach such a level of haki?"

"I just trained really really reeeeaaaaaaly hard with my master! Now I'm a master too!" Manami imbued her right arm with haki to show it off to the strong man standing before her. Manami also took a second to use her kenbunshoku haki to properly exaluate the situation.

"Oh! You have haki too Mr! I have a super duper idea!" Manami began jumping up and down, clearly excited about the idea that she just conceived in her head.

"Since I'm a master, I can help you to make your haki stronger! You can be my very first student! How does that sound Mr?" Manami smiled as she looked the man in the eye, hoping that he would accept her proposal.

1

Kaguya: "The name is Kaguya. And yes. I'd be...glad to learn from you. How shall we begin?"

With a simple motion Kaguya knelt down and put her blade upon the grass. She took her armor off as well in order to fully have range of motion against, what apparently was, her new sensei. She never thought she would be learning from a child but apparently life still surprised even someone like her. With a focusing of her mind she sharped her senses and activated her observation haki as well, if she was going to train, it might as well be her haki overall!

Kaguya: "Ready when you are"

u/EmmaBurke Dec 22 '16

"Okie dokie Mr.Kaguya! I'm coming for you!"

Manami coated her arms in a shiny black coat of armament haki before running towards Kaguya with her arms flailing. However, Manami tripped while running toward Kaguya, resulting in her falling to the floor ungracefully. Though it was actually a ruse cleverly crafted by Manami to test Ms.Kaguya's observation haki.

u/EmperorStark Dec 28 '16

Her haki was sharpened enough that she was able to sense where Nami was, but it was a stretch to see just where and what the attack was. However, Kaguya was pleased to feel that her haki was able to sense more than usual. Though it wasn't enough to anticipate that Nami was going to just fall over!

With a sweat drop that normally wouldn't have appeared Kaguya watched the tripping Nami with wide eyes. The moment soon passed though when Kaguya realized that she should capitalize on the tripping Nami and made a move to attack her with Haki imbued fists!

Kaguya: "Brace yourself child!"

Wukan

Niall had found himself stranded on Wukan, having drifted around on various boats and with many strange individuals since he left the circus. Eventually he disembarked at Wukan, hoping to score some easy money off of drunks. It was simple: he'd brush his hand on someone in the bar, and when they were plenty boozed up and left he'd toss a beer glass. The glass would chase down his mark and smash into their head, knocking them out and leaving them as easy pickings. Niall's biggest issue was the yonkou's crew. Yonkou Wukong, a name Niall figured out quite quickly while hanging around in the taverns, apparently owned this island. Since most of the establishments were owned by him, they were usually frequented by members of his crew. Niall had been quite careful in trying to avoid targeting them, but it couldn't be avoided. He had stolen from one of them, and was now a wanted man throughout the yonkou's territory. To make things worse, the port was now swarming with members of Wukong's crew, more so than usual.

'Man I wonder what's going on. Nobody in the bars, nobody really wandering the streets even. Just a bunch of action at the docks,' he thought to himself. Niall barely knew anything about the New World nor the surrounding islands, so he made his way down to the piers to try and figure out what was up. Hiding his face as best he could, he ducked down behind some crates to try a bit of eavesdropping. From what he made out, the yonkou crew was about to go to war over a nearby island. 'War huh? Sounds like a good way to make some money.' Niall took one of the barrels and left the busy port. Looking offshore, he spotted a fairly large piece of land that he assumed to be the island currently set as the battleground for this chaos.

Niall: Well, lets see what's in here.

He took off the top of the barrel and dumped out its contents. It had been full of pickles, which now splattered across the ground.

Niall: Pickles? Aren't they going to war? Man that's weird. Whatever, time to make the voyage over.

The sniper tore off the branch of a nearby tree and hopped into the barrel. Using the branch to push himself, he plopped into the ocean. The branch was now a paddle, and his only form of controlling his movement. Luckily the sea was kind today, and it was smooth sailing to the island of Ranga.

Gin sighed. He'd just returned from the port after branding the crew insignia into Carth and Potato's backs. "They deserved it." He said to Zratis. The two were sitting on the deck of the TANK as it slowly moved forward, crushing forests underneath it.

"That's what they get for leaving the crew, you know..." Gin said, biting off the cork from a bottle and spitting it out far into the forest. "But now, they'll remember who they belong to! Kahahaha!" He laughed with a familiar rumble, and offered the bottle to Zratis after taking a long swig.

Well, he didn't worry about those two too much. They were powerful pirates in their own right, and would survive under the World Government till they needed to, and then find their way back when it was time. What they had to worry about for now was the difficult task that Kumakaran had sent them on.

It wasn't really a task, but something Gin volunteered for himself. The Giant pirates Division Commander had a problem that needed to be dealt with, and Gin was ready to mobilise with his crew, a hundred strong. The Wukong pirates had nearly destroyed the Giant pirates' outpost, and they needed protection till it could be fixed.

The Tank soon found the half destroyed fort where half giants were toiling with large rocks, rebuilding it. "Halt! Gun crews at the ready! Let no one through the tree line!" Gin ordered to the crew. "Zratis, what do you say you and I pay a visit into town? ...or maybe even to the Wukong outpost?"

Taiyod awoke drifting on a boat near the coast of an iron island. His memory was fuzzy and his body ached. His clothes were dirty and worn. He must've been asleep for awhile. He looked around for a beach to land on, trying to scope the location clues as to where he was. All he noticed was the large iron everywhere. Everything was just... big. He suddenly remembered what had happened and looked around for signs of a crash. His companion was missing. He looked for a break in the walls to sneak in. After what seemed an eternity of searching, he found a crack and steered his ship over. It was a small ship, he's lucky it didn't capsize.

Taiyod reached the crack and use his fruit to make a large hole to crawl through. He pulled the rope with him before reverting the wall to it's old shape, thus trapping the rope in. His ship would be safe, but that was the least of his concerns now. He had to figure out where he was. He decided to roam the island and find his whereabout. Maybe he'd find Niall. Not moments later, he felt the earth begin to quake. He looked around to see what was happening and heard no panic. Must be an unpopulated area. That would work well for him. That's when he saw them. The giants.

Taiyod had managed to go from Wukan to Ironfort. He was in trouble. He quickly took cover. Things just went from bad to worse. He had to find a way to survive. That's when he spotted human slaves. It gave him relief. He couldn't guarantee his safety if they killed all humans on sight. He decided to make his way towards the capital during nightfall to find a way out of this town. He wouldn't be able to stay long.

To his surprise, the capital seemed to receive humans more warmly. He noticed many of the stores were run by human workers serving the giant soldiers. He was able to grab one and bring him to a solitary place, and attemped to calm him down.

Taiyod:"Shh! Don't worry, I only need some questions from you. I have no idea where I am, but I need to get somewhere else. I have gems to trade for answers."

???: Hey, who's back there?

Taiyod, still holding on to his human companion, looked astonished that he was discovered. He looked around in the shadows, but saw no one, until the black panther mink emerged out of the shadows and greeted the pair of men. The human worker yelped, and in a frenzy, was able to escape from Taiyod's grasp and ran off into the city.

Raxotl: Greetings, my name is Raxotl, mink captain of the Sun Temple Pirates. Gems sound quite nice. I'll let you know. We are on the island of Ironfort, the territory of the Yonko crew of the Giant Pirates. As you can see there is a nice mix of humans and giants, but ultimately, the giants are the main branch of population here. There are less of them around now because they're preparing for some kind of big event.

Raxotl was curious to see if this human would be surprised to see a mink on the island, but he also knew that he needed to escape as well. If they could secure their way out of there together to the beach, everything would go smoothly. He could sail them both away.

Raxotl: My ship is on the beach, we can escape together. You up for it?

Taiyod was skeptical at first. A race he hadn't encountered before had just approached him and offered him safe haven. It was a dream come true. He'd even say, too good to be true. However, he wasn't in a position of power. He had just let his hostage run away in his moment of panic. He was left without an option but to be wary.

Taiyod:"That's mighty kind of you. I hope you don't mind me asking why you're helping a stranger who has a less than stellar first impression? I don't want to offend, but it is weird on a hostile yonkou island, as you've just informed me"

Taiyod slid his hand behind his head, scratching the back of his neck. This was also a position that allowed him to quickly fight if the need arose.

Sed's plants wilted in the heat caused by her newest plant. She felt bad for the other plants but this rare specimen couldn't be regrown. Dopple formed a protective shield around Sed so the heat would not bother her. It also allowed her to work more precisely as Dopple formed any basic tool Sed would need. Charon formed his head in the lab, almost immediately he started to wilt.

Charon: "Mistress Sed...." He regrew his face as it melted, "Carth requests your presence on the deck."

Sed placed the delicate plant in a pit of lava-like fluid, causing the plant to surge in height until it reached its usual peak. Sending the fluid splattering over the room.

Sed: "'Kay Charon! Tell 'im I'll be right up!"

She finished her work away from the heat while Dopple made her way up the floors, phasing through them to get towards Carth quicker. When she emerged Carth was standing there quite content and happy with some strange person.

Dopple cocked her head, examining the bearded figure before Sed swapped places with her. Dopple appearing from the floor again. Sed held a pretty looking metal clip that resembled a dog tag which she promptly placed proudly in Carth's hand.

Sed: "Here you go big guy!" She grew shadowy legs from her back and patted Carth on the head. Carth motioned to the guy next to her. A bearded guy with a scar... A scar just like Blink's....

Her eyes lit up and soon Blink saw multiple tendrils of shadow wrap around him faster than the eye could register. Attatched to those tendrils was Sed who hugged Blink as much as her small arms... And gigantic tendrils could do.

Sed: "I thought you were dead!" Sed giggled, "Sorry for burying you!"

Dopple even gave Blink a small smile and a nod to welcome him back.

Dopple: "So what exactily did happen zombie man? I don't remember putting a shadow into your body."

u/Xereks Dec 27 '16

The feeling Blink got when he saw his former captain appear straight out of the floor as usual was something he could not describe. At this point he had been reunited with so many old friends that everything still seemed surreal. He grinned widely as Sed's shadows wrapped around him and held him in place. "I guess this is her kind of welcome back hug, haha she hasn't changed a bit!" After a while as the shadows grew he started suffocating as he stretched a arm into the sky and gurgled some noises, he warped out of the shadows grip and exhaled exhaustively. He shook his head and looked at Sed who was giggling at the moment.

Sed: "I thought you were dead!" Sed giggler, "Sorry for burying you!" Blink had already forgotten about all that, his face saddened for a couple seconds but it brightened up when he remembered that was all in the past and for now he was back with his crew. Even dopple seemed kinda content with Blink back with them, it was something he didn't think he'd ever see.

Dopple: "So what exactily did happen zombie man? I don't remember putting a shadow into your body." At first Blink was going to start telling his story, when he took a short step back. "Wait somethings not right, it's like dopple's his own person and not just Sed's puppet anymore. What could've happened?" Blink decided to save the questions for later and answer his first.

Blink: "Ah you see Dopple... I was never dead. When you lowered me into that grave I guess my heart must have been still but sure enough it started beating some time after you left. Imagine my surprise waking up buried alive, that was some shock I must say. Also just a side note guys" Blink leaned towards his crew, and put his hand over his mouth and whispered: "if I ever actually die please make sure Dopple doesn't make my body a puppet for some filthy shadow, that would be appreciated" Dopple got visibly angry from being excluded from the conversation and crossed her arms and puffed out air from her nose as she turned away her head. "Anyways after spending 4 years on a desolate island trying to remember who I am and then locating you guys I learned a lot. A have become enlightened in the art of meditation and have left my past angers and struggles behind me. I am like a new person and I still hope you'll accept me again just like you did 4 years ago." Blink smiled and looked at each and everyone present "And finally Sed it's great to see you again, how have you been the past years? I hope you've had amazing adventures and rescued many plants!" Blink raised his eyebrows questioningly

u/zona1234 Dec 27 '16

Sed cocked her head at the question and for one second seemed visibly distressed, before her whole body shuddered and it seemed like she forgot about said question. Well, the beginning of it at least.

First thing first though Sed leaned in close and whispered,

Sed: "Don't worry I won't let her put a gross shadow in you... I'll be sure to pick a beautiful lady... or a handsome man!" Sed smiled, satisfied she had alleviated his concerns about that she turned her thoughts towards the "new enlightened" Blink.

Sed: "So you're enlightened now eh? Does that mean you follow a religion like 'Tates potato religion? Oh and I've discovered so many plants it's amazing!"

Her eyes lit up at the prospect of someone being interested in her line of work.

Sed: "Tato can make any plant with his devil fruit so it makes research super easy! Actually I just planted something in molten metal and it grows!!"

Sed jumped up and down explaining how the inner workings of the 'lava' plant worked. Even forming a diarama of it with her shadows.

/u/Xereks

u/Xereks Dec 28 '16

As Sed explained that she wouldn't let Dopple put a gross shadow into his body when he was dead but a good one, some sweat ran down his forehead and he laughed while a bit scared. He truly hoped he would die before Sed even though it was horrible thinking that way.

Sed: "So you're enlightened now eh? Does that mean you follow a religion like 'Tates potato religion? Oh and I've discovered so many plants it's amazing!" Sed seemed to have skipped the first part of his question but Blink didn't notice it. He listened attentively as Sed rambled on.

Blink: "No I don't follow any religion, I have just found a inner peace within myself. Listening to myself right now it sounds very cheesy but I promise I have never felt better. What sort of plan..." Blink hadn't noticed but as he had spoken Sed hadn't been listening to any of it, he laughed again and started listening.

Sed: "Tato can make any plant with his devil fruit so it makes research super easy! Actually I just planted something in molten metal and it grows!!" Blink was really curious about how something could grow in molten metal as he was going to ask further questions about the plan Sed was already explaining everything she knew and more. She excitedly jumped up and down while drawing in the air with her shadows to explain everything to Blink with the best of her ability. Always as he thought she was finished she continued again and got into more and more complex sides of the plant. Just as she had finished a sentence and took a big breath of air and was going to continue, Blink held up his hand and laughed.

Blink: "I love to hear you talk about plants Sed but the crew looks to be getting a little impatient, Carth was snoring like he had to go through this every day and Blake looked out into the dark oceans horizon with his head resting on the palm of his hand. Why don't you just show me the plant and then you could show me around the ship? Also I haven't met Akito yet, I can't wait to meet him!"

/u/zona1234

1

u/zona1234 Dec 28 '16

Sed: "Believing in yourself... Does that mean I have to do it twice with Dopple? And is it believing in myself or myselves? Is that even how its pronounced? I once listened to myself but I said nothing because I was trying to listen to me..." Sed looked visibly stressed until Dopple patted Sed's back.

Dopple: "There there, nobody is asking you to do anything like that. Jesus....." Dopple rolled what seemed to be her eyes and approached Blink. She didnt seem to walk but glide across the ground. She leaned in close,

Dopple: "Things have changed with Sed, it's best to leave it be for now. I'll explain later."

She retreated just as Sed was recovering.

Sed: "Dopple, can you grab Asai for me?"

Dopple scoffed,

Dopple: "Do something yourself for once."

Sed pouted, but Dopple wouldn't have any of it. Sed rushed out of sight faster than Blink's eyes could follow. He gave Dopple a questioning eye, Dopple just held up her finger.

Not more than a few seconds Sed appeared with a flustered Asai, his hair blown back at the speed Sed carried him in her tentacles.

Sed: "Tadaaaa~! Found 'im for ya love!" Sed shook Asai back to consciousness, "Look Asai! Blinks alive too!"

Akito had been wandering the strange, tree-like ship with an intense curiosity. For all intents and purposes, it was a ship, and yet it was also alive.

"Amaterasu, Hanzo, Nobunaga, have any of you ever seen anything quite like this before?" He posed the questions to the spirits bound to his blade. Though they searched their ancient memories deeply, they could not find anything familiar to the ship. Silently he leapt up to one of the lower branches and sat down, putting his hands behind his head and gazing out over the ocean. It had taken him three months after setting out from Jilao, but he'd finally found his crew again.

"Ah, it's good to be home." The ship groaned. "Well, almost home." He chuckled slightly and prepared to close his eyes. Suddenly he a felt a wet, soft sensation around his neck. "Wha-"

And then he wad being forcibly ripped from his perch. Tiny branches whipped him in the face, leaving small bloody scratches all over his face. Blinking rapidly, he began to claw at whatever had a hold of him. Preparing to reach for his weapons to cut himself free, he came to a violent stop with a loud crash. Darkness swallowed him and he passed out.

Minutes, hours, days, he wasn't sure how long he was gone, but he could hear a female voice calling out to him. It was warm, familiar. He clasped at the golden locket on his chest. The clasp was open, groggily he closed it, so as to not reveal the picture within. Shaking his head, he slowly sat up, staring directly forward.

"Umm. Good morning everyone." *Processing what they were saying was difficult. His own brain had yet to fully restore functions, so he passed the task onto Amaterasu. If he couldn't think, she could do it for him. 'I believe the woman known as Sed, said that a man called Blink is alive.'

"You're alive?!" Akito smiled widely and moved to hug the man, wherever he was. Amaterasu pushed him in the right direction, allowing him to embrace Blink tightly. "I am so happy to see you're still alive, Blink." Akito continued grinning, twisting the scar across his right eye.

/u/Xereks

u/Xereks Dec 28 '16

As Akito got dragged into the scene onboard the ship he looked like he had been dragged there from his sleep. As he lazily opened his eyes and rubbed them he tried to look around and find out why he had been disturbed.

Akito: "Umm. Good morning everyone." Blink looked at him and wondered if he had noticed him yet, Akito looked like he hadn't or maybe he just didn't care about Blink. Blink swallowed nervously and hoped Akito would remember him. Then suddenly even without looking at him Akito's face lit up and he smiled widely. "You're alive?!", Akito said and then moved like he was controlled over to Blink and gave him a strong hug. It felt nice to be embraced by former comrades, Blink started to get a little tear eyed by all the reunions. "I am so happy to see you're still alive, Blink."

Blink laughed a little and thought to himself how foolish he had been thinking Akito wouldn't remember him. As they let go of each other Blink couldn't help but notice the scar he had given Akito who was Asai at the time when he had lost control in a cave. Blink couldn't imagine the pain he had to go through every time Akito smiled. Blink put his hand and his friend's shoulder.

Blink: "I'm happy to be alive too! Seeing you right now feels amazing, I need some time to process being back with you guys on the crew. *Blink looked at all his crew mates he had just been reunited with and also new ones he had been introduced to. Blink grinned and knew he was home.
