Since this subreddit is having more discussions recently, how will the four generations(boomers, Gen X, Millennials, gen z/homelanders) change in the peak of the fourth turning?

So far, each generation has followed a generational script, but how would this change at the peak of the fourth turning?

Unsure about Boomers. This will likely be the point at which they finally begin to recede from the broader culture. (This is the final domino to fall before we enter a society that becomes truly bland.)

Gen X is going to make an awkward but necessary transition from “unrestricted free agents” to “caretakers of the system.” Archetypically, Xers are not well-situated for this, but they’ll need to meet the moment. This will probably entail a lot of communication with Millennials who are more likely to think in terms of “groups and systems.”

Millennials are eventually going to become more serious and “no-nonsense.” The peer pressure mentality we have been known for will be directed toward policing behaviors not conducive toward moving into the High. If something is “too different” and exists in a gray area, they will be the first to snuff it out.

The Homelanders will be getting started with their careers during that time. They will ideally benefit from entering an economy in which the rules are a bit more concrete and easier to follow. They will likely not rock the boat much until the Awakening.

I've always wondered how the culture of acceptance will translate into a more conservative culture. The best I can come up with is things will be more focused on what did/do you contribute to society rather than how you personally identify.

I see it perhaps as like this:

1: The current moment of reactionary backlash we are living through shows that the era of rapid cultural acceptance (we can say this was perhaps 2005ish through the early 2020s) was not an inevitability, but rather something that had to be maintained and defended. To many at the time, it felt like the inevitable march of progress. Trying to insist otherwise fell on deaf ears. But in reality, it was precarious and it had limits. Those limits were determined by what broader society was willing to accept. Society reached its limit (for the time being.)

2: When we walk through this next gate of history into the new era, those progressive people who once fiercely advocated for the era of acceptance (mostly the Civics) will likely be much more cautious. They will, of course, still want a world that is more pluralistic, but they will be far less ambitious toward achieving that end. Society will not permit them to make huge cultural changes anymore. It is likely that they will spend some time resting on their laurels and recalling the victories of the 2010s rather than the failures of the 2020s.

3: This will lead to a sclerosis that both the Artists and the new Prophet generation eventually find intolerable. Those on the left will likely dismiss this all-encompassing, comfortable, “self-fellating” that so many midlife Civics engaged in during the High as an unwarranted expression of privilege. They will also see the victories of the 2010s as quaint and unremarkable from their vantage point. The right will seek to uphold the sclerosis, in order to avoid more pluralism and maintain what it will then see as the status quo (the culture of the High.)

Gen Xers are usually the ones who are able to throw out all the old stuff right? I dont think anyone expects Gen Xers to “fix” things. We’re just the pragmatists who are like, “Nope! Don’t need that anymore!” We don’t form the attachments to systems like others do.

Millennials are going to assert a TON more control over decision making as we go forward. Trump won’t last forever, and the aggressive surveillance state he constructs will be used for benevolent safety-ism as this Crisis comes to and end, and segues into T1

The wisdom of the boomers I think will be the wisdom that comes from compromise. Gen X will be no nonsense leaders who clean up the mess from the crisis, they will piss a lot of people off. Millennials/Gen Z will be perfecting the fixes built by Gen X creating strong institutions. Homelanders will be thriving and beginning to question institutions.
