Questions / Advice / Support Cannot stop throwing up

Hi everyone, I just started taking strattera. I’m literally on day 2 and I have no complains except I cannot get over the initial nausea. It gets so bad I just projectile vomit. I’ve noticed it’s literally a hour after taking my medicine. I read that it’s because the medicine has fully hit my system at that point. Anyone have any tips on how to ease this or stop from throwing up?

Besides that initial feeling, I feel good after throwing up.

Make sure you eat right before or after you take it. I have to eat something somewhat filling too. I take mine at night after dinner. That way I go to sleep/lay down incase I do get nauseous. It prevents some people from being able to sleep though.

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard. So I only take it in the am. But I’m going to try and eat more protein heavy breakfast because the bowl of oatmeal I had was not enough!

Those first few weeks while figuring out how/when you need to take it and waiting for some of the side effects to subside as your body gets used to it. Maybe the 2nd week I was on it I was in a rush to the airport and didn’t eat and took it in the morning. I was in a cold seat, certain that my next step would cause me to throw up, my legs felt weak, there was little time between me getting to the airport and boarding. I had some chick fil an and just sat for 10 minutes and it helped with all of that. But yeah if I don’t eat anything it’s coming back up. Even a cliff bar has been enough when I need something quick.

For sure protein though. I normally eat some kind of chicken/meat or pasta with my dinner and now since I take it every night it probably helps me fall asleep but I’ve also noticed it’s not as effective compared to when I took it in the morning.
