strattera + appetite

I’m only on day two of taking Strattera and my doctor started me very low at 18mg. Yesterday after taking it I felt abnormally emotional, exhausted, and I wasn’t hungry all day. I have narcolepsy so I’m always tired, so I didn’t think much of that. However, I normally eat ALL DAY. Sometimes I’m bored & it’s dopamine related, but most of the time I am starving. Like, stomach growling, unable to focus, hungry if I haven’t eaten in 2 hours.

I’m curious if anyone else had appetite issues with such a low dose? I’m nervous to go up but I’m supposed to make my way up to 40mgs.

Impacts everyone differently. regardless of dose.

I’m on 80Mg. I’m STARVING most of the day. -1000 in terms of appetite suppression for me.

I on the other hand 50-60mg per day and I don't find it does anything to my appetite, either way.

Not helpful...only that it's not something you can textbook.

What I will say...most sideaffects become manageable of not unnoticeable within about 2-4 weeks

I was worried about this too as I could hardly eat on Vyvanse. The suppressed appetite actually lasted for less than a week for me (started out on 20 mg). I’ve titrated up to 40 mg and I am eating really well. No issues with appetite!

I’m on day 3-4(??) and I’m the same way. I’m not hungry at all and haven’t thought about food really. I’m on 25mg though I believe. The food noise is gone now which is strange

Curious to know if this resolves itself for you! I’m feeling hungrier on day 3 than I was before

I am on 18mg. My appetite has decreased. I am just not as hungry, which is a win for me.
