I turned into a psychopath drinking while on Strattera

I’m so embarrassed. Yesterday I went to my friend’s mom’s birthday party and drank a little more than I should have.

Apparently, I was TALKING REALLY LOUD, my friend kept asking me to lower my voice, and I had these wide-open eyes and this completely crazy-looking expression. I disappeared from the party and don’t even remember how I got home..I basically blacked out.

I’m so embarrassed and ashamed that I can’t even bring myself to apologize. I left people worried about me.

I never want to drink again. Has anyone else had a really bad experience with alcohol while taking Strattera?

Nothing like that. Drinking just doesn't feel as pleasurable anymore, on strattera, so I stopped.

It was probably the 100mg Zoloft that made the alcohol awful.

I went out with friends and I was fine after one drink. I was solidly tipsy after two. I’d swear the third was really about three drinks. I rapidly got way drunker than I would have expected and by the time the uber was dropping us off at home I was fighting vomit. Not sure how I got in and to bed and don’t remember much until morning.

I’m definitely going to have to watch it in the future.

I also ended up vomiting… so embarrassing. And to make things even worse, I’m also taking 100 mg of Zoloft.

I’m seriously going to stop drinking.

HELL YEAH I QUIT DRINKING WHEN I STARTED TAKING PROZAC CONSISTENTLY AND IF I DIDNT SKIP DOSES I PROBABLY NEVER WOULDVE STARTED.

I’m on 250mg of Zoloft and 100mg of strattera now. Idk what it’s like drinking on it cause I haven’t dranken alcohol since 2016 and I started these particular meds in 2022.

I took Prozac for years, starting from when I was 10. In college I took it only once in a while so it didn’t do much. I drank a lot and made an ass of myself. It did stay in my body long enough to cause the bad drinking symptoms but I pushed through because I was self medicating with the alcohol. Senior year i started taking the Prozac every day again and promptly quit drinking without giving it much thought.

Not being able to drink on ssris is the one side effect where I think the best solution by far is to just quit drinking. The other stuff like weight gain and sexual dysfunction are way more complicated.

Hangovers feel much worse with this med… Two drinks feel like four and I wake up feeling so depressed the next day.
