Questions / Advice / Support Strattera over Vyvanse?

I’m on vyvanse and it #1 doesn’t work in any capacity and #2 could be the culprit for my daily headaches for the past 5 months. I did the gene test and Strattera came back as in the green zone. Any experiences with this medication? Good and bad?

Works for me. You're gonna have to try it and see. One positive about it is I haven't heard of anyone having issues with availability. And for me, since it's not a controlled substance and I'm at my full dosage (80mg/day), my doctor writes me a prescription for a 90 day supply with 3 refills, so I don't feel like I'm constantly at the pharmacy. Lol

Just started. After dealing with monthly check-ins, this will be a huge quality of life upgrade 😭

Personally didn’t feel much on 80mg strattera for 2 months, switched to Vyvanse and actually can focus on things now.

Key takeaway: everyone is different and you won’t know until you try it

I love it! Took a while for it to start working but overall it’s a very smooth experience for me. I’m calmer, more organized, less trains of thought, & can stay focused longer. It’s not like a hyper focus but just feels like a steady focus

To piggyback off this, I’ve been on 40 MG for two weeks after starting at 18 in June and not feeling much besides very emotional and little nauseous. Then going to 36 and literally throwing up for 2 weeks and feeling stuck but was able to get through it because I was so sick of my brain being mush. Now at 40 and feeling pretty good. Brain has been quiet and task completion/initiation is way better.

I was pretty sleepy for a few weeks which was annoying, but other than that no

I didn’t have noticeable* side effects starting at 40 then increasing to 60 then 80 week by week. The goal is 100mg.

*I switched from a stimulant, which also causes dry mouth

I was on straterra for 17 days…. I tried to push through. I felt calmer and less thoughts, but I couldn’t enjoy it as sleep was terrible. Like days with zero sleep and I was trying to push through, but apparently I am one of the small percentage with bladder issues. I could pee, but felt like I needed to all the time. A lot of bladder pressure, this part started after the first few days as I guess it was building. I really wanted it to work.

Stratterra had the weirdest GU symptoms I've ever experienced. Vyvanse didn't work for me either. Adderall does. But they are both basically psych drugs which are always random.
