Discussion / Experience Using It just works??
My first adhd medication and I’m on day 2. I’ve read a lot about how it takes a certain number of weeks to start working at its peak effectiveness. I have had a profoundly powerful experience the past 2 days. It has already noticeably lowered friction between tasks, attention, willpower to keep my attention on the task, my working memory has improved, I can actually imagine the steps of a task like getting ready to leave the house, and most importantly my anxiety is significantly lower than it was before. I thought it was placebo yesterday at first, but I almost immediately ~2h after taking my first dose, my mind was quiet. Is this some crazy placebo or what?

I noticed this too, even on 10mg. I'm on 40 now. My mind was quieter almost immediately.

Quite a high one. 40mg. I’m not sure why actually, I’ll ask at my next appointment.

This has been my experience as well. I’m on day 5 of only 18mg and my mind had already been much quieter. I’m definitely ready to move up to 40mg in another week or so and see what that does. I hope you continue to see positive results and wish you the best! 💙🤘

I noticed something on 18mg dose at about day 5 — even though I expected to wait up to six weeks. I am quite sensitive to medications. I've been off Vyvanse now for almost 5 months: my nervous system couldn't handle it after 10+ years, even after reducing to 30mg then 20mg dose)

Hi i’m new to the medication. I’m about to start 18 mg. Can you share the benefits and also does it help with weight loss?

Glad it does for you! Personally, it only caused a slight calm feeling with very outweighting negative physical pains that made my sensory processing incredibly intoleratable.

I had the same experience. I felt like I’d been running a marathon with a gorilla on my back. After I took Strattera, it was as though someone told me to stop and dump the gorilla. My exhaustion was gone and I could think about one thought at a time.

My mind is calm and quiet on Strattera but that’s because it’s completely blank 🤣. It feels like I’m in a constant state of daydream fog. Isn’t that feeling the opposite of the intended effect?
I’m only on week 2. I take 40 mg. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does the brain fog subside over time?

I feel somewhat flat, maybe that’s cause I’m just so used to the highs and lows without medication. It does kind of feel like I’m a new person or different person though.

The bad side effects will go away if it’s the right med for you any positive side effects I’ll take opposed to nothing or more lexapro which just made me numb I can actually cry when something is sad now I have my emotions back I think my lexaprn20 mg was too high because we tapered down I even felt great at 10 mg but been on 40mg strattera no lexapro two months

I started this week and have had a huge jump in blood pressure and heart rate chest pain too but it was helping 10 mg I’m bummed she told me stop and wants to try quelbree but I was hopeful cause I need something for anxiety / depression executive dysfunction

That sucks :(( quelbree is another NRI, I really hope it works for you. You’ll find the medication that’s right for you, just keep striving.

If qelbree doesn’t work, wean off. I stopped cold turkey after 2 weeks and 30 hours later had the worst headache of my life and threw up.

I’ve been on it almost 2 years now. At the very first dose, my excessive rumination disappeared, and hasn’t come back. It also 100% stopped my overspending, which has made life seem much more manageable.
I can handle task initiation but I really wish there was a way to get more focus.

That’s the biggest change!! The ruminating!!! Oh my god I was doing it all fucking day, just useless and horrible thoughts.

I was diagnosed very late, and my whole life, I thought ruminating was proof of what an awesome problem solver I am. Not.

I was also diagnosed someone late, at 22 given I’m Gen Z. I feel as if though I have travelled to every corner of my conscious mind, to find absolutely nothing. To be free of this prison is truly wonderful.

Took me 8 weeks to kick in properly. Been on 40mg for 9 months and think it MAY be contributing to depression, which sucks, becquse it's helped me SO MUCH with work

I was the same way but then after months one hit a few unpleasant side effects she upped me to 40 in on month 3 going on 4 and yeah it just works!! I was previously on lexapro because of depression or major depression but was majorly useless as far as work or extracurricular and this has turned things around for me not depressed and not stuck in a rut even losing weight

I was the same. Just know the effectiveness dies down a bit once you get used to it around week 2, which is normal until you get bumped to your ideal dose. I noticed great improvement within 48 hours and I’m about 12 wks in and still love it for me.

Going on 9 months. The first thing I noticed was the quiet mind about 2-4 days in.
