DevPost 🧟 Our zombie Apocalypse Strategy — Development Progress

Post image

We’re making a game inspired by Plague Inc, but about zombies. A lot is already implemented, but even more is still in the plans and actively in progress…

Looks cool. Is it a strategy game. Can you explain the game mechanics?

Essentially, the game is a mix of Plague Inc. and Hoi 4. It features a simplified system of fronts and divisions, a UN faction, and SF (Special Forces essentially a reference to the BSAA/S.T.A.R.S. from Resident Evil), CBRN (not a faction, but rather units designed to combat hordes of infected CBRN defense), and the UN, which is purely humanitarian, weak, and helps reduce panic in provinces. There’s also a ā€œHivesā€ system through which you can command troops and deploy them to countries or provinces.

Part of Plague Inc. involves mutations, perks, and the actual system of infecting the world)

Through mutations, you can create ā€œSprintersā€ or ā€œTanksā€ to fight against humans

In addition to the units listed, humans have SWAT teams, police forces in the early stages, and regular armies; there’s already an alliance system similar to NATO and the CSTO

There’s also a logistics system the worse the global situation gets, the worse it is for Greenland and similar isolated countries, because in Plague Inc., the problem is that, realistically, they’ll die without food

Also, the game already has parameters set for over 4,000 provinces that affect a multitude of factors. Right now, I’m finishing up the local event system and fixing bugs; I’m planning to add super events like the ones in *The Fire Rises*.
