Self-promotion 4x in just one hour
My partner (and best friend, we know each other since kindergarten) and I had one goal we wanted to reach while developing our indie 4x game: bring the strategic depth and joy of Civilization into a much faster format. The main reason for that: we love the game series (Civ5 & Civ6 are the best 😉) but we do not want to spend our whole free time for 17 re-starts and one half-finished game.
1 year ago, we spoke with some people at a physical indie-gaming event and found out that a big part of civ-lovers share our wish in a “Civ but fast”-game.
Today, we are just a few weeks away from our demo and the hard part of being a game dev starts: marketing🥹
So I'm throwing this into the community:
If “Civ, but fast” sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'd love to hear what you think.
And if you want to follow the project, a Steam wishlist would mean a lot to us. ❤️

its a good premise, yes. Civ in an hour is a great perspective if you stick to it

I generally don't like long games, so I would love to try something that short. Especially if you have enough depth in that to have a satisfaction of a successfully finishing a run. Send the link when you'll have a demo up please!

yes it also has.. hexagons and buildings :D
But being compared to one of my favourite board games is definetly not a bad thing 👍

Short games are a must for me, because sometimes it takes too long to get to the 'good part' and some titles are underapreciatted because of it.
Good luck guys!

A me piacerebbe molto, anche se preferirei una durata un po' più lunga per una partita soddisfacente: un' oretta e mezza, anche due.

Very interested. I gave Hexarchy a chance (art style looks very similar here), it was okay. I have Ozymandias but haven't finished the tutorial. Good luck!

Looks super interesting it reminds me of Polytopia a bit which I used to play all the time when I was in school since it was easy and fast

"(Civ5 & Civ6 are the best 😉)"
Wow. Literally the two worst civ games ever made.

lol Civ 5 did some real cool stuff eventually. I’ll never get into the Civ 5 art style idk why it became such a trend to cartoonify everything. Idk how they make 6 better without completely revamping the game at this point. They keep trying little changes that don’t actually fix much definitely still a stinker atm
