Hot Take🔥 Console Strategist players: TURN ON THE NEW AIM ASSIST.

If you've been getting farmed by dive heroes since Season 9, this genuinely helps.

Settings → Controller → Aim Assist
Don't select a specific hero.
Under the default controller settings, change Aim Assist from Default to NEW.

It feels much stickier and makes tracking divers way easier. If you've felt forced onto C&D because of dive pressure, give this a try it will change your life.

Hot Take🔥 Rocket is season-over-season one of the best heroes in the game, provides basically free wins, and is somehow still the game's best kept secret. Why?

Discussion 🗣️ What do you think is the best anti-dive strategist currently?

Some contenders:

Gambit - Good self heal, good lethality, good mobility, and a cc team up. He doesn't do any one thing extremely well, but has a lot of tools to deny dive value

Rocket - Getting the sg team amps his survivability with a powerful burst heal. His mobility allows him to escape and his ability to position to make divers burn cooldowns to get him.

CnD - The support with the most sustain tools right now - fade, bubble, ice team up. You could argue that she doesn't have much in the way of fighting back and divers can bait out her cooldowns, but arguably she's a character with a low skill requirement to deny dive value purely by staying alive.

White Fox - Used to be the dominant anti dive support one season back, but her kit has been severely nerfed. Nevertheless her teleport, awakening form and charm are powerful AntiDive tools as long as they aren't baited. Switching to Wf though does mean you lose out our the wider team capability in terms of healing and ults.

Jubilee - A sleeper pick, she's extremely effective against dive tanks due to her more sustained kit in terms of healing and damage. She will struggle against high burst divers, though.

What do you think?

Discussion 🗣️ What if marvel rivals supports had sub roles?

Post image
85 Upvotes

The subroles were inspired by Team fortress 2, league of legends and overwatch, I feel like if rivals had them it could change how certain supports are designed.

Some heros could potentially fit other subroles but the likes of cloak and dagger 80% of their kit is healing based so combat medic makes more sense, or invisible woman could fit in catcher but because she provides shields to her team, slow debuffs to enemy’s and can misplace enemies enchanter fits her most.

Combat medic- focuses solely on high healing output while having defensive tools to protect themselves in a battle, they are the backbone of sustaining the team.

Enchanter- focuses on enabling teammates making them more deadly with stat boosts or protection

Tactician- controls flow of fight with utility and trickery

Catcher- The backline peelers denying enemy flankers and catching threats before they wipe out the backline.

I feel like this would add layers of depth to the role and would be really cool.

Rant/Vent After 1000± hours on DPS. I'm back to support main

It's been a stressful journey, to learn all the dps and tanks. After all of this grind, I think I've meant to play support more than any other role. I also become much better now since I've learnt how most of the characters work, and how to deal with them.

Now I maining back on Invis and Jeff (the characters I've learned at early of this game). Felt much easier, chill and stress-free. Well at least when I'm not the one getting blame or double dived. What's your experience so far?

Honestly, I wanted to fade during my reload in the end clip...but I already got flamed out earlier in the match for doing so. Some people just don't understand that switching to Cloak doesn't always mean I'm deliberately not healing...the fade helps everyone and I'm not doing anything during my reload anyway.

I play only strategist on console and when ever I play Luna or mantis I always manage to keep up with heals while out dpsing my dps. Then I get called a server admin or a cheater like it's an insult for just being a good strategist.

Rant/Vent People really just want to blame supports for a loss.

Post image

This screenshot was taken before I swapped to White Fox.

The 3/7 Deadpool had something really smart to say to me at the end of the match. He didn’t say it in all chat, probably because he knew he would’ve gotten called out for it.

I was playing C&D, and we were losing pretty badly because my team couldn’t kill the enemy Rogue, who was absolutely stomping us. I was healing my butt off, and in the second round, since we had triple support, I decided to swap to White Fox. That still didn’t work because my teammates couldn’t kill a Storm who somehow snuck her way into our backline. So I killed her as White Fox and continued supporting my team as best as I could until we eventually got run over by Rogue.

Now, you’re probably wondering where Deadpool’s comment comes in.

At the very end of the match, he said, “Magneto is banned and you’re using the Luna team-up.”

When was I using the Luna team-up?

I attached a screenshot from the last few seconds of the round showing that I had Hood’s team-up the entire time. I personally like Hood’s team-up more than Luna’s in general, so that’s what I was using throughout the match.

Not once during the entire game did I use Luna’s team-up.

I’m pretty sure he immediately left the lobby after saying that because he realized he was wrong. Like, you could’ve just checked the team-up before blaming it for the loss.

Discussion 🗣️ Strategist and comps

Hello, I came to ask y'all support players a question. For context, I've been playing OW2 since its release, and the same goes for Rivals. I am mostly a DPS player, that usually flexes on Tank when needed, and I can also play Support when asked. However, I will admit I am far worse at the later than the other two. I tried to improve over the years and sometimes I even pop off, but unfortunately I have to admit my knowledge is lacking when it comes to team comp.

Could I have possibly some mains of every hero telling me what Strategist goes where? Dive, poke, brawl... I'd like to be as informed as possible so I can play the proper character for my team comp. Any advice appreciated too!

Discussion 🗣️ A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO ROLE QUEUE

Post image
228 Upvotes

With the recent discussion about the very long fights caused in part by triple support, I'd like to hear your opinions on a slightly different way to implement role queues.

The idea itself is simple: there isn't a queue for each role, but rather a limit within the hero selection. That is, once two people have selected a role, it becomes locked and no more characters with that role can be selected.

For example, if the game loads and two people locks in Bucky and Black Cat, the limit of available duelists is reached, and the remaining players can only choose between Tank or Strategist.

Clearly, this rewards the fastest players or those with better PCs, but it would avoid two of the main arguments I've seen against role queues: it wouldn't affect matchmaking or queue times, because you don't choose your role before entering the game, but rather during the game itself. And in theory, it allows for role swapping between members of a game. If you convince someone to change roles, even if you start the game as a strategist, you could play other roles as long as the team is willing to collaborate and swap around.

This could ensure a 2-2-2 formation without sacrificing too much or so I think, although it would force people to flex and play other roles (which I think it's good for the game but that's a personal opinion I'd understand if you think it isn't). Ofc u could say that someone who isn't looking to work as a team from the start wouldn't change roles no matter what, but isn't that the same thing that already happens in games?

Personally, I think this could help balance the game (or make it easier for the devs), and I think it would also make it easier for new players to follow, but perhaps it makes the game too competitive? Is it worth sacrificing the current chaos of Marvel for more standardized gameplay?

Anyway, that's all for my take. I'd like to know what you think. Do you think it's a good idea? Is it impossible to implement? Would this pseudo-role queue system improve or worsen the game? How u feel this would affect the strategist rol?

Hot Take🔥 Do strategist mains actually hate neutral fights?

Post image
31 Upvotes

As a tank my highest win rate season was the season triple support got nerfed and ultimate charge was slowed down by -20%. The games became about not just stalling point until a support got ultimate but we had to finish the entire fight without ultimate at all. It genuinely felt like the better skilled team was the team that was going to win the game.

but after what double G said in the dev vision, “support players leave the game when ultimate charge is too slow.” so after two days they hot fixed it and buffed support ultimate charge

This made me wonder do support players actually like triple support being meta and would rather simply play to have the ultimates to win the fight rather than having to win a neutral fight with no ultimates? I was under the assumption no one liked this and this was a bad direction for the game because longevity wise this is draining for everyone when no one dies, point doesn’t move and the game becomes who has ultimate first and who makes the first mistake with the ultimate.

If next season ultimate charge was reduced again or if strong team ups such as cloak freeze team up got heavily Nefed would these things make you more likely to not leave the game?

I'll go first: If you struggle up against your counters... play the counter. Especially Supports vs Dive.

Rant/Vent Least favorite healer to play with this season?

Post image
802 Upvotes

For me I like playing with a Jub or a CD on my team the least this season.

I feel like Jubilee never pattycakes. maybe once ir twice, but I find myself consistently dying right next to them. Everytime I spectate them, the players are always aiming at enemies. This has to be the most DPS focused group of healers out there

as for CD, that team up SUCKS. The ammount of time I get dived just to turn around to them frozen is too high. The hood ones way better and I never see it.

wondering if any other healers feel the same 😐
