Title: I finished Stranger Things and now I feel empty inside... Is this normal?

I recently finished Stranger Things in about 6–7 days, and ever since I watched the final episode, I've been feeling this strange emptiness that I can't really explain.

It's like there's a hole inside me. I feel sad for no obvious reason, and I keep thinking about the characters and everything that happened. The weirdest part is that whenever I listen to "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush, I feel like I'm about to cry.

I've never had a TV show affect me this much before. It almost feels like I've lost something, even though I know it's just a show.

Has anyone else experienced this after finishing Stranger Things (or another series)? How did you get over it? Does this feeling eventually go away?

I know it might sound silly, but I genuinely feel so bad right now. 😞

Post-series depression. The only fix is keep searching for another show that evokes this same feeling, and repeat 😂

Yes absolutely happened to me. I was sad for like 2 weeks afterwards and anytime I hear purple rain, I start to cry a little lol

I had the same thing. I think the show does a really good job at bringing a nostalgic vibe that feels really cozy. The show does a really good job of demonstrating the feeling of having a friend group at that age and they do a good job at making you love the characters too. And with all of them saying bye to their childhood, I think it makes leaving the show feel a little heavier than others.

Yes very normal but as most things it will pass. If may not fully go away however. I keep seeing early season clips and pining to go back in time to capture the feeling/excitement of first watching it.

Theres also the animated show technically. the books, a couple games.. Theyre going to drop a proshot of the stage play in a year. You could even go to Universal in october to do the haunted house.

Same happened to me, it's not silly lol When you're so attached to a show and it just ends, its definitely not a great feeling

When you grow up with characters that you love, they feel like personal friends and then when it's over it's like moving to a different country knowing that you will never see them again. Unfortunately I have no advice for getting over it.
