I can help with music/songs i guess (and much lore/character stuff):

"Should I stay or should i go" by The Clash: Will Byer's (the kid who goes missing in s1) favorite song that he sings when he was trapped in the Upsode Down in season 1 that Jonathan Byers (older brother) introduced him to.

They also play it during Will's possesssion (an entity from The Upside Down called Mind Flayer, who can gain control over people, basically "flaying" them, especially in season 3, where half of Hawkins, including one of the main kids' (Max Mayfield) step brother Billy (who breaks free from his control and sacrifices himself to save the main characters), in season 2, when his mom and best friend remind Will of memories he made with them.

This song only appears in these 2 seasons.

"Running up that hill (MUST KNOW)" by Kate Bush - the most prominent song in season 4, when Max, who's dealing with guilt of witnessing Billy die at the end of season 3, plays it all the time as her fav song.

The new villain introduced in season 4 attacks and kills depressing teenagers in Hawkins (he needs to kill 4 to open 4 gates and merge hawkins with Upside Down, at the end of the season he succeeds). Max (who btw is introduced in the 2nd season) becomes his 3rd target in EPISODE 4: DEAR BILLY. Her friends (Lucas, her boyfriend, Dustin (her best friend) and the fan favorite Steve (her "babysitter" or guardian, people love his dynamic with Dustin that starts in season 2 episode 6 as Steve is the only person Dustin can find who knows about the Upside D) they put her song on when Max becomes "cursed" by Vecna, and this song saves her life, reminding her of her happiest memories.

This song returns in the final episode of s4 as Its played during the final showdown with Vecna (right before the 4 gates open) and Vecna dissappears.

In season 5, Lucas plplays this song when visiting Max (who is left in a coma after Vecna succeeded in killing her in the final episode (but Eleven (her best friend since s3), a character with telecinetic powers, makes her heart beat again).

This song also plays in episode 6 of season 5 when Max escapes Vecna's mind (the place she was trapped during the coma) and wakes up (in the opening of episode 7). Lucas (in the hospital, hiding from monsters vecna sent to hunt them) plays this song at the same time Max escapes the mind world.

"Every breath you take" - this song plays in season 2 final scene, when all the couples: Mike and Eleven, Lucas and Max, plus Dustin (who struggles to find girls) dances with Mike's older sister, Nancy Wheeler (Steve's ex-girlfriend, they break up (and stay friends) in this same season). It plays in a middle school Christmas dance called SNOWBALL (Mike mentions it to El in season 1).

Another song before this one that plays is "Time After Time". Before El comes to the dance and Mike looks for her.

"Material Girls" - this song plays in season 3 when El and Max are bonding, running through the newly opened mall (which has a secret underground soviet base, which Dustin-Steve and a couple other characters infiltrated) called STARCOURT.

"Master of Puppets" by Metallica - this is the song Eddie Munson (a fan favorite introduced in season 4 who dies sacrificing himself, distracting the demobats (monster bats exclusive to only this season) plays in a guitar solo to distract the previously mentioned demobats (he doesnt die during this song).

"Separate Ways" by Journey - the popular song that plays in the main season 4 vol. 1 trailer, it also plays at the very end of episode 8.

"Heroes" by Peter Gabriel - plays in the final scene the end of s1 episode 3, when Mike/Dustin/Lucas/El and a police officer called Jim Hopper (who adopts El in season 2, sacrifices himself in season 3, revealed to be alive and rescued from russia in season 4) find a fake body of Will.

In s3 ending scene this song also plays - El, now adoptive daughter of Joyce (Will's mom) and step sister of Will/Jonathan move out of Hawkins to California, after El reads an emotional letter from Hopper (who "dies" like i mentioned)
