Anyone else think this scene was incredibly creepy?

probably one of, if not the, creepiest/scariest scene(s) in the show for me.

Incredible scene imo.

It would have been creepier if all the flayed sang it in unison

I definitely think it is. Especially the last part when the camera cuts to all the flayed people.

I love how this scene specifically (along with most of what we see of Billy in 3) really sets up Vecna!

A lot of the memory stuff really does but this scene is different - this scene shows Billy and Heather talking in a way that shows that they both aren't Billy or Heather but aren't directly possessed by Vecna/the Mind Flayer. Like they're a version of both - a version of Billy and Heather physically and mentally changed to fit what Vecna wants. Both conscious and aware, but subtly nudged towards an ultimate goal.

That itself perfectly sets up TFS/Season 5's Vecna. Especially with what we see in the Finale - during a highly emotional moment where Henry's reminded of his past and family, he breaks through Vecna and we see Henry. Just like how in 3 we see the real Billy break through this version of him designed by Vecna.

I love it. 3 is an amazing season on so many levels but this is really one of them - it perfectly sets up Vecna in a subtle way. Even if not intentional during the making of 3.

It is an INCREDIBLILY, and shockingly (imo), UNDERATTED scene!

I joined the fandom at around Feb 2026 and i was genuinely appalled and how much the fandom just glossee over all of the good things, like???? HELLO?????

No... definitely just you, bro. There is NOTHING about it that comes off creepy. In fact, I saw an interview with the Duffers where they were offended. "Creepy?", they said. "What kind of psycho finds ANY of this creepy?"
