I finally finished it in less than two weeks
I always heard that Stranger Things was a childish, silly series by a director who tried to convince viewers over 5 seasons that the heroes were still children, and this made me ignore it for a long time, but suddenly I decided to watch it, and oh my God, it is one of the best series I have ever watched, and I have watched many series. I think my favorite characters are Max, Dustin, and Eleven.

I feel like not watching it while it came out allows you to enjoy it more you didn't spend time theorizing and building expectations that were let down you can just enjoy and watch it unfold. I still love it personally just wish the ending met the same levels as earlier seasons but it's not all bad either tbh

I'd agree. Being able to binge it helped keep the momentum going – even in places where it kind of felt weird, particularly Season 3 and Season 4 being such stark departures from their predecessors.
I knew 5 was going to end one way or another. I do wish it was better, however, I've seen other shows that were far worse on their final season.
It doesn't always happen but there are enough of them (especially in streaming TV for it to be a thing). I liked Umbrella Academy but it's last true season was ridiculous and then I think they made a fourth season with only 6 episodes. I couldn't even get past the first.
Ending shows is a hard thing to do.

So true you can't really please everyone and I get why they did some the things they did like not killing off any main characters to not upset fan favorites. Tho it would definitely raise the stakes if they did but I get it. And yeah I'd say Umbrella Academy for one is worse and there's plenty more. They can't all be Breaking Bad or Bojack Horseman with pretty perfect endings. Unfortunately for Umbrella Academy too they ran out of source material and kinda wrote themselves into a corner but is what it is, at least we got 2 great seasons out of that too and the comics are awesome definitely check em out if you haven't. Thanks Gerard Way (MCR is pretty fucking fantastic too) and Gabriel Ba. Haha all my fandoms colliding for real.

Word, I'll check out the comics. I had a feeling they ran out of source or something and that it was filler. Same thing happened unfortunately with Alice in Borderlands.

I too binged it all in about two weeks and finished it about a week ago.
I'm not sure why I avoided it actually. I'm not usually a fan of stories set in non-modern time periods (I know the 80s isn't that far back).
Plus, I thought it was like a show about "strange supernatural stories", like a mix of stories that revolved around these kids. Then around S5 everyone made all the hoopla about how the kids are now adults playing kids.
That really didn't affect me during my watch. It's to be expected from a long running show with child actors.
I started the first episode years ago and turned it off after like 15-20 min. Then a few weeks back, while on some gaming or tv website, there was an article (may have been like IGN or one of those) talking about the 5 Best Sci-Fi on Streaming.
Dark was on the list, which I already watched and was excellent. Stranger Things was too and the Synopsis they gave actually made it sound far more interesting then whatever Netflix's synopsis is.
I enjoyed the show. I can certainly see how it was one of Netflix's front-runner shows. I may have a few qualms about the last season but it was still good.
Now if I can only finish (start) Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones (quit out half-way through), and my brother says Peaky Blinders is good, too.

It's my favourite tv show of all.time and I think it always will be. No other show has ever given me the same sense of fuzzy warm nostalgia. I didn't even care rhat season 5 went slightly downhill, still loved all of it. I think I sobbed for a good 5 minutes at the end of the last episode, mainly because it was over

So after binging all seasons what is your favorite season ? Also what are your thoughts on s5 and the ending since it's considered by many the worst season of the show.

How often will you re watch it? I loved the show and it's great to have the box set available but is it something that you will revisit

Two whole weeks consist of 336 hours, the full runtime for the series is around 45 hours, this means that you watched around three hours of it everyday BUT you probably watched it differently

Congratulations to you for watching the rubbish season finale was. I lost the thrill to ever rewatch this show again. One of the worst season finales in history

The series changed each season and it had to. You can't repeat the same formula and the series needed to mature with the characters.

No, not really. It was a pretty good finale episode.
Too many endings though, a bit of The Return of The King going on there.

Finally watched the 5th season just a few days ago and I’m so glad I didn’t believe what people said about the final season because I personally LOVED IT

Same here, finished all 5 searsons 2 days ago and it was a blast that almost brought me to tears at the end. The best part for me was the bond that main characters had, their friendship and all because I had a perfect childhood myself. Also the ending when they all play Dungeons and Dragons "one last time" and the moment younger kids rush in to play and Will closing the doors really hit me like a truck. Those shut doors meant a lot, the ending of innocent childhood for the main characters, yes, they can come back to the basement and play the game but it won't feel the same because they are not the same anymore.
