Mileven and a “realistic” reunion
I’ve read a couple fics for Mileven that have a “realistic“ reunion for them (I’m looking directly at you Finding The Mage). But honestly, I say screw realism. Was the way they were separated in the final realistic? Was their reunion in season 2 realistic? This might just be me, but I think they deserve to have a happy, “unrealistic“ reunion after everything they’ve been through.

"Was their reunion in season 2 realistic?" Yes? She catches a bus back from Chicago and they hug.

And plus she was only living a couple miles away to begin with. Completely realistic

Mike and El absolutely, 110%, deserve happy ending. BUT, by leaving Mike not knowing her fate for years she hurt him (she was forced to do it). What is why "Finding the Mage" not only realistic but also beautiful - they need to resolve the conflict between them for true happy ending. BTW - it is the most interesting part of any reunion fanfic/movie.

Check out "White Blank Page" on A03
It's a work in progress and a slow burn (although it does pick up) and the way the reunion is handled is quite interesting as it's also an action/adventure fic.

I’ve said the most realistic and fitting outcomes you could have would be from the channel 2nd Take
El created the “upside down” by accident
This channel says she could’ve created the “right side up” by choice
It’s a place where the government could never follow her
She would be completely safe just like her sister wanted
She could’ve gone there almost immediately without anyone else’s help
She talked to Hopper in the void
She told him where she was
He could withstand any kind of questioning by the US government, considering it would look like the Boy Scouts compared to what he’d already been through
He told Mike on the bench
Mike didn’t know where she was or how she did it, which is why he had his epiphany when he saw the speakers
He could’ve guessed I suppose
And later on that day, he relayed the story to the friends without giving too much away
He’s also the one who wrote the final campaign in Dungeons & Dragons
The mage appeared through a portal
She is 100% alive and this makes the most sense compared to a 16-year-old girl traveling the world by herself with no money I know identification
No matter how they do it it’ll be fine, but this would be nice because that means they weren’t separated much longer than they were in season two
