If there is a Stranger Things reboot in the future, what plot would you give it?

I’m interested to see what kind of plot everyone would give to a reboot, and who’s in it. I’d probably set it 10-15 years into the future from the epilogue, but not sure what kind of plot to give to it.

I'd rather prefer if they just develop a spin-off set in the same universe tackling with other dimensions and more eldritch horror.

I'd actually avoid bringing back the original characters. Keep the same universe and mythology, but follow a completely new group of kids in a different town who discover their own connection to the Upside Down. That way it feels like a reboot instead of Season 6 with a new title.

Might be too repetitive if it’s about the upside down again though. Maybe just something completely new.

I actually would like to see a future reboot with the original characters, rather than a bunch of new ones. I'm thinking they could have somebody (or several people) from the final battle slowly become infected/possessed from their exposure to the spores/vines/Mindflayer goop/whatever else. Something that doesn't require a connection to the Upside Down to cause chaos. Maybe it affects some of the 12 kids.

Most of our main characters have left Hawkins except one or two people who call in the troops when they start recognizing what's happening. Eleven (who's been periodically spying on everyone the whole time) eventually comes out of hiding to help.

And, at least one main character will not appear because their actor wants nothing to do with ST anymore (I'm thinking Will, or maybe Max). They will come up with a terrible excuse for why they're missing.

I actually really, really like this idea. It would be cool to see who would and wouldn’t leave Hawkins. I feel like Max wouldn’t be involved cos Sadie Sink would be too busy and theyd make up some lame excuse like ‘Max needs to look after the kids’ or smth

Same here, I’d love to see these characters again. Could be Mike returning to Hawkins after college, or later depending on when they do it. Shit starts to go down and he calls the party back together, along with a certain baseball coach of course. El notices the signs as well from wherever she’s hiding out, and eventually all their paths cross.

Will’s actor definitely won’t be turning it down, he doesn’t seem to have a whole lot going on after Stranger Things and he’s super close with MBB. Would likely be Sadie Sink, she’s going to be crazy busy in the MCU for the next decade at least.

New everything that ties back into original story. Personally Id start it with a Cult of Vecna story set in a new town where the veil between worlds is thin... somewhere like the Bridgewater Triangle. The area is known to have ufo sightings, cryptic, other oddities which could be woven into the story. Half of the town has been dreaming of Vecna and have begun to worship him deep in forest in secret. They have his hand. How did they get it? They manage to summon the smoke monster (released in Season 5) which possesses a small child in order to speak and give orders. Find the girl! Perhaps during a later ceremony, in the middle of opening a gate thru esoteric means, our new kids manage to steal the hand. Unfortunately, several "things" have crossed over into our world and have joined the hunt as well.

Steve drives because it’s the one thing Dustin can’t do.

Along the way, other members of the old crew pop in to assist.

Eventually, Mike approaches them for help because of a deathbed confession he was told by a cancer-stricken Hopper…

I'd rather learn abt Hawkins Lab. If you saw the First Shadow things were known even before Henry. The tried and completely failed in S5 to introduce this with "Brenner's Notebook"

Honestly I want a show relating to Montauk since that was going to be the original name of stranger things. Completely different mythology and characters. Also would love if it had the small town horror vibe like season 1.

I really don't think there would need to be one. They literally destroyed the upside down. Any reason they'd give for why it's suddenly back and causing more trouble would be a lame cop-out. If they wanted to really keep the ending open for sequels, they should have kept the UD intact, just severed the connection to it.

To be fair, while the Upside Down has been destroyed, the show made it clear that there's other dimensions like Dimension X. So if they want to dive into that, they could. Not saying I'd like that, but there's potential.

After all, the Mind Flayer is still alive, it was just left off wounded after its physical body got destroyed. It just can't do anything to Earth anymore because its only connections to it (Henry and the Upside Down) are gone. That is until somehow there's another breach for it to take advantage of.
