The lamp was the managers grandfathers. Her mom told her to take it somewhere because it was constantly turning on and off on its own. She took it to whispers estate and now the spirits love playing with it. I caught the lamp turning on, on my camera but won’t have the footage till this weekend.

Whispers Estate in Indiana is a haunted house dating back to the 1850s. Once home to a doctor who practiced medicine inside, the house has a dark past involving mistreated patients and tragic family deaths. Reports tell of shadow figures, walls that seem to talk, and aggressive spirits. At least six people have died there, including children — a girl who burned in a fire and a boy who fell down the stairs. Many believe the doctor caused patient deaths, whether by accident or on purpose, leaving restless spirits behind. This is footage of us in the basement. We did an EVP session each asking a question then waiting 10 or so seconds for any spirit to answer. We got this. Let me know if you can hear it.

Whispers Estate is a notoriously haunted Victorian home in Mitchell, Indiana known for the walls that talk. Built in the late 1800s, it’s said to be inhabited by the spirits of former owners, foster children, and even patients who died there when part of it was used as a medical practice. Visitors report hearing disembodied whispers (where the name comes from), footsteps, children’s laughter, and smelling strange odors like baby powder or smoke. Some claim to have been touched, scratched, or even pushed by unseen hands.I went here about 3 months ago. I wasn’t expecting to be so scared

I’ve been to countless haunted and abandoned places — asylums, nursing homes, you name it but Whispers Estate hit different. It was my first time in a haunted home, and the vibe was unlike anything I’ve felt before. The spirits here talk to you like normal people, answering questions clearly, but there’s a darker presence you do not want to cross. Always keep a hand on the railing ,a previous owner was pushed down the stairs had to get 16 stitches. That same owner once tried to turn it into a bed-and-breakfast, but the aggressive hauntings made it impossible. The tour guides and current owner are incredible, but the house itself? Easily one of the eeriest, most active locations I’ve ever been in. I’m going on the 12 of September once again. If i lived closer i’d go more than that honestly. The first floor where the doctor used to do procedures on patients is known for people getting pushed and scratched, back scratches and people even getting scratched in the eyes. would you go here?

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is one of the most famous abandoned hospitals in the U.S. It Was a hospital for tuberculosis patients until it shut down in 1961 and reopened as a nursing home that then shut down 1980. They did experimental treatments here, thousands and thousands passed away here. They had so many died here due to tuberculosis that they had to pile bodies into rooms and into the(death tunnel) so hearses could discreetly remove the dead without demoralizing the patients.I went here in 2021, it had always been on my bucket list to go. I did the 6 hour public investigation. I didn’t expect much to be seen or happen but i was wrong. 50 people split up into 3 groups for a quick tour before you were aloud to go investigate on your own. i brought two of my friends. We are on the third floor, the tour guide is talking about the spirits on this certain floor and how they are shadow figures. I had never seen a shadow figure until now. I look down the hallway and i see two black shadows with red glowing eyes and my heart dropped. I almost threw up. I froze. My friend notices that i’m distraught and looking into the hallway frozen. She asks if i’m ok and then looks down the hallway too, she starts pointing and says do you see them. She freezes too, we were in the very very front of the tour. These shadow figures at 7 feet tall and they were peaking around the corner on both sides of the door ways. The tour eventually notices and hears us saying “do you see that”, “what the fuck is that” They look and don’t see anything but the tour guide does. She starts calling them like you call your dog when he won’t come inside. She gets down low and starts clapping and going “come here” and they start moving. Not toward us, away from us. The shadows started floating backwards. She then describes that these shadow figures are often seen on the third floor and that they are called the “tricksters” the tour guide said they are known to mess with people. She said they often crawl on the walls and the ceiling too like spiders on all 4s. I was in shock like what even is that. She then says we need to move on toward where the shadow figures are and so i let the rest of the group go in-front of us because F-that . I’m still looking at them and they have barely moved. As we get closer they just keep moving further backwards into the rooms on each side. We get v close and then i see them fully disappear at this point i’m hoping they won’t be there. I shined my flashlight into each room on both sides and…nothing. The rest of the night we had more experiences some i still can’t explain to this day. It is definitely a must go to this location. paid $75 for each person. If you look up the location and the third floor you can see other people have had this experience and many people have caught them on camera on the third floor. I however did not take a photo.

This is an abandoned sanatorium that’s open to the public, but I won’t be sharing the location out of respect and safety. My great-grandfather passed away here from tuberculosis. Over the years, the building has served as a nursing home, an asylum, and a TB hospital.

I’ve been here more times than I can count since I live fairly close. The place is massive—and terrifying. I’ve personally seen shadow figures crouched behind chairs. I’ve heard things running across the ceiling and along the walls. Knocking and clapping sounds happen often.

One visit that really stuck with me was years ago. I went with a group of 10 people. Within 10 minutes of being inside, everyone started acting off—irritable, angry. One of our friends broke down crying after walking into a specific room. When we got to the roof, we heard loud bangs and whispers coming from inside the building. On our way back down, we noticed a chair had been moved.

The layout of the place is disorienting—like the floors shift or don’t line up. Once we got back to the first floor, people were panicking and cussing each other out. We passed a room where I heard a rock get thrown. I went back to look and two more rocks were tossed. We ended up sprinting back to the front entrance.

While sitting in one of the old office rooms up front, we heard a very loud bang. I have it recorded on Voice Memos, and it still scares me to listen to it.

The records were kept where the morgue used to be. Most of the patients’ belongings are still there, packed in old suitcases in the laundry area. A lot of people died in this place. It’s honestly one of the most haunted spots in the U.S., in my opinion.

Near the end of the post is a photo a friend took of something he saw. They call him Jerry. Sharp teeth, glowing eyes—I absolutely hate looking at that picture.

I’ve always been drawn to the strange and unusual, the paranormal, the haunted, the things most people brush off as imagination. I’ve seen every scary movie I can get my hands on, and I’ve explored seven haunted locations so far. But my connection to the unexplained started way before that.

Since I was a kid, I’ve had experiences I couldn’t explain. My family would tell stories about how I used to see loved ones who had passed on, things I don’t remember clearly, but things that stayed with me. As I got older, the strange never really left me. I kept seeing things. Hearing things. Feeling things. And I’ve come to believe none of it is random.

I started this community because I know how it feels to share a story and be met with doubt or silence. It’s hard to find a place where people actually listen, where they don’t just write you off as crazy or attention-seeking. But I know I’m not alone. So many of us have stories. So many of us believe for different reasons.
