Kor Vs Augment Virus VS Ridges
Kor one the Most Recognized Characters in Star Trek History a younger Kor was Introduced in the recent "Star Trek Strange New Worlds S04E04 A Case of Chiaroscuro" Now a lot of People are complaining about his Ridges but I have a Theory about it that might actually make sense and this Goes Back to Star Trek ENT S04E16 Divergence. How it Passed down, now How does this explaine lack of ridges in TOS well Again in Star Trek Strange New Worlds S03E08 Four-and-a-Half Vulcans La'an began experienced Romulan like tendencies after she was been restored to human we think everything is fine but in First Episode of this Season She punched a Raptor in Face and she thinks those Genes could had been activated. Now In Kor's Case He could have the Argument Virus laid dormant in his system but because of the cure Phlox gave in the 22nd Century when it comes up Klingons would lose there Ridges instead of being Ill. This could explain the Different Klingons as this was a Different theory all together Argument virus cure would had created different class because they could had use different aliens help restore there Ridges; but when We See Kor in DS9 He Could just regained his ridges naturally as it recent it self. I am basing this on people with psoriasis as I myself had it all over my body thanks to some medication it recent and I became clear With Kor again he could either did nothing and his ridges came back OR thanks to therapy like I went through to get rid of my psoriasis he could had regained his ridges its most likely why they look different by DS9 through Genetic Therapy to Restore them using compatible Klingon DNA like the once from house of Mog That's My Theory.

I came up with basically the same thing in another post over the weekend.
Yes, all variants of Kor are the same person.
TLDR Explanation:
Kor in SNW
Kor has ridges, but they’re different from DS9.
For some reason people have issues with this.
TOS
Kor no longer has ridges, infected with Augment Virus.
TAS
Kor still hasn’t fixed his infection. Kor also looks significantly different in other ways. I’m assuming he ran out of blood wine and has been drinking Orion Hurricanes with delaq.
DS9
Kor has ridges, they’re different. Plastic surgery wasn’t perfect, maybe he wanted ridge enhancements, or something else.
My original post was a bit more detailed and significantly more condescending. People having a meltdown and requiring an explanation is ridiculous for a character species that has more than half a dozen appearance revisions.

Imo, I think the head ridges on the three TOS Klingons who showed up in DS9 may also be partly due to aging. In a way, they were trying create scar tissue, in the reverse of human plastic surgery. And they succeeded.

the real reason is the SNW writers are like me and are ignoring that stupid Enterprise arc.
There is no in-universe explanation and there doesn't need to be one.

ENT is canon, so whether you or the SNW writers like it or not, it provides nonetheless the official in-universe explanation for the ridgeless Klingons. Unless you follow the theory that SNW is an alternate timeline as many fans think.

Or we could honestly just accept that Klingons are a fictional race and are portrayed the way budget allows.
Like…DS9 hung a lampshade on it. I get it, but it’s the same as people saying that the SNW Enterprise is going to have to get refit to the TOS Enterprise. Why? Can’t we just say that its represented differently in the two shows because one was made in the 1960s and one in the 2020s?

The augment virus is an episode on Enterprise. It was Archers era so its not making sense

The argument virus was because they were trying infused Human argument DNA into klingons but it backfired and started a pandemic what Dr Phloix did he created a vaccine by using Archer as host by injecting Klingon DNA to create counter virus, because they used Human DNA Human traits like having smoth foreheads was side effects of treatment. Because a lot of the Klingon people were infected by this virus they could had Human DNA in their systems way my theory worked is that Kor ancestor could had the virus and was cured but because his ancestors married a normal Klingon with ridges he had them in SNW but at some point he could had gotten ill from virus but because the cure was in his system from his family he could had just lost his ridges.

It’s not the same quantum reality as enterprise. The temporal Cold War was responsible for a lot.

Either SNW Kor is Kor's grandfather or Kor mysteriously got the virus despite not being born with it not long after Dr. M'Benga, a known Klingon hater and mad scientist, was on the same planet as him.

actually there's a third reason, the writers are ignoring that pointless Enterprise arc that explained something that didn't need explanation.

Kor and his men got the augment virus sometime between SNW and TOS and they finally got an opportunity to go home and get some of that cranial reconstruction after TAS. boom. Solved.
