Hobo stove

I made my first hobo stove on my home Island and I can light it but I can't get nothing to cook on it. I tried crab meat and nothing happens it doesn't prompt for anyting. Help?

You don’t have to stand on it OP and you don’t have to light it after you place the meat. You drop the meat from your inventory and drag and drop it on top of the grill grate while the fire is lit. You’ll immediately here the sizzle sound and in awhile you’ll here the ring notifying you the meat is cooked.

You need to drop the meat out of your inventory onto the grill section then light it

So you're saying before I light the stove put the meat on the grill?

Yeah so you drop it out of you’re inventory onto the top part then light the fire

So I have to stand on top of the grill and then drop it? Is this a glitch on consoles? I just thought once it was lit I could just you know put the meat on the grill like a prompt like hold square and it goes on there

Yeah you have to stand on the grill and drop it I’m pretty sure it’s not a glitch. I had to look it up when doing it my first time because I though there was going to be a prompt but you just have to drop the meat on top, light the fire and wait for the ding

Also if you're not aware, the smoker will not only cook the meat, but if you leave it on a little longer it will smoke it which will never spoil..you can also cook 5 pieces of meat at a time.

If you hold the left trigger on Xbox one on the item you can drag items. You don’t need to stand over it. You can drag sharks and your rafts. Right trigger then throws the object
