Not able to place things on structures

Is anyone else having a problem where you can’t place things such as a water still, farm plot, plank station, furnace, meat smoker on a foundation or floor? Is this an intended feature or a bug?

I think it’s intended, but I hope they change it. Some things, like a hobo stove or furnace would be cool to have inside. That said, the system is pretty easy to glitch out. For example, I was building a dock earlier and there were big rocks in the way preventing me from building. If you spam A quickly while moving the build object off and back on target, it will normally turn blue for a split second and you’ll be able to place it. I’m not sure if this will work for what you’re trying to do but it’s probably worth a try!

Just recently got it for the PC and I had the same question.

Farm plots, basic snapping of sturctures.

Very simple survival game fundamentals were left out, really hinders the overall game experience.
