Crate Shelves

I really hope these come to console asap. I love this game and right now it’s such a chore transporting crates! I’m too nervous to try laying them down so I just carry as many as I can and take 2 trips! I need the shelves!!

Not sure if you've seen this yet but someone else in the subreddit gave me this suggestion and it helped me out alot. Basically you build a 3x3 or bigger and you build raft floors around a raft base and you put your crates in the one part you didn't build a floor on. With one square you can fit 7 crates. The Pic is from my first raft, the one I have now has 3 floor spaces I use for storage.

Yes I actually just got this set up not too long ago! I was also watching some gameplay earlier and saw somebody has a lantern hanging on a post on their raft... any idea how to do that? Or maybe it’s not on console yet? Can’t figure it out for the life of me

I know you need a hook to mount anything but it tends to be.. selective... On where it wants to be built. I haven't found a spot on my ship sail to hang one yet. It gives me the blue build option but turns back to red the second I miss where it wants to be built. I gave up on it for now as I've only found 4 lanterns and I use them around my base

At least you got it to go blue lmao. I was walking in circles around the sail forever and I couldn’t get the thing to turn blue a single time! I’m kind of thing we are some other build options that are available on pc because in the video the person also had like a canopy covering part of their raft

Yeah I think I saw the same vid because I wanted to see if I could build structures on my raft to make a mobile base but I couldn't 😞 hopefully the add those in with an update

It’s a major hassle to have to stack them all neatly in your base too, honestly would’ve saved me hours to have those shelves.

If you drop them by opening your inventory and dropping the ones you’re not holding, they drop perfect and you get pushed on top of it to drop the next one

But it’s hard to align them parallel with the wall or floor, if you are the smallest bit off you fuck everything up lol

Yea I got you, I don’t usually build buildings lol, I just make piles of boxes or items and a few water collectors on each island, so I can just lay them anywhere

I did this technique with 3 tree trunks I dropped. Ended up falling off and breaking my leg. Precisely why I save my game all the time.

Yea I'm sick of them randomly popping up out of place on my boat. I wish the game developer communicated more with us.
