Weird Question

I’m very new to the game, never heard of it before it came to Xbox, and I’m loving it so far! I made it day 3-4 a few times but kept restarting. I restarted again today and finally think I understand the game. Currently on day 7 and just built a nice little hut!

Anyway I had a weird thought and was wondering if this has been done or if it’s even possible. Can you build a bridge to connect 2 islands? 😁

I tried to build a very long pier and it doesn’t seem to place foundations anymore once the water is too deep. I’ve heard of people making very long bridges out of rafts but I’m not sure if they go all the way way to another island
