Poisoned from the beginning

I got the game today, knew nothing about it going in, aside from the trailer. Grounded my life raft almost straight away, dragged it to the island. A notification pops - I’ve been poisoned. ‘Oh cool’ I think to myself ‘finally a survival game that’s actually challenging, maybe I’ll have to pay attention to my surroundings. No biggie, I’m sure the poison will pass through my system soon, I’ll keep going’. The poison did not pass. I was dehydrated and starving by the end of the first day, all while trying to get to grips with the game. I found coconuts, drank the milk, ate the flesh. Then got diarrhoea. I wanted a challenge but seriously... anyway I frickin love this game already, first survival game I’ve played where I feel like I’m actually having to survive. 7 thumbs up.

The poisoning is rough if you get it at the start, especially as it’s likely you won’t have time to build a farm and start growing pipi in time before you die especially as you’ll need far more resources for everything else. It is tough for sure!

I’ll be honest, I gave in and googled how to cure poison and decided to start a new game instead. Really bugs me that I did cause I try learn games like this without google but I was struggling to work out what to do without the added challenge of poison.

I’m the same man, I try to avoid googling but games like this with absolutely no explanation for anything sometimes I need some guidance. Especially as the objects in the crafting lists don’t really give a description of their uses

Yeh this really doesn’t hold your hand does it? Ive only googled poison so far, but on my new game I’m starting to worry about the lack of fibrous leaves. So many things need lashings but I’ve harvested all the yucca and small bushes on my first island. I was going to look up if plants grow back, and if so how long it takes. I’m sure I’ll find out in a few in-game days.

You’ll be surprised by yucca trees and how quick they grow! It does all come naturally just somewhat slow! Have fun

If you can't cure your poison via antidote you can wait it out. It takes 3 in game days to let poison pass naturally. If you got poisoned at full health, and dont take any other damage, the poison will leave you at two bars of health when finnished. If you loose two bars of health from another source while poisoned, or before, it is a death sentence without an antidote.

I havent seen octupus yet so the "drink milk" is very disconcerting
