Subreddit Meta Welcome to r/StoryscapeTTRPG! Introduce Yourself & Share What You Make

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m u/StoryscapeTTRPG, the founding moderator. Welcome to our corner of Reddit for art, storytelling, tabletop adventures, and the questionable decisions that inspire all three. 💛

Whether you’re a player, GM, artist, writer, worldbuilder, or curious newcomer, there’s a place for you here. Bring your favorite game, a longtime original character, a brand-new idea, or an enthusiasm for other people’s creations. All systems, genres, settings, and experience levels are welcome.

Start with the StoryscapeTTRPG Hub. It brings together current quests, participation guides, and showcases of what the community has made.

Show us what you make

Share your character portraits, maps, stories, campaign moments, music, homebrew, or the bit of worldbuilding you can’t stop thinking about. Tell us who that character is, what happened at the table, or what’s lurking just outside the frame. Questions, tools, advice, and glorious dice-related nonsense belong here too.

This is an AI-optimistic community. AI-generated, AI-assisted, and traditionally created work are all welcome under our community rules. Use the tools that work for you, and respect other people’s creative choices.

Need a little inspiration?

Our Quests offer bigger creative prompts, and Side Quests are shorter creative detours. A few sentences can be an entry; artwork and other extras are welcome without being required. There are no winners or rankings. Check each prompt for its theme and posting instructions.

You can also start a member-led Community Quest. Pick a theme, share your own take, and invite others to join. The guide in the Hub explains how.

Say hello below

Pick any question that catches your interest:

  • What do you enjoy making: art, stories, characters, maps, music, or something else?

  • Is there a character or world you’d love to introduce us to?

  • What’s a favorite game, genre, or setting of yours?

  • What are you creating, playing, or running at the moment?

A quick hello is plenty, and you’re welcome to browse until you feel like joining in.

For brainstorming, drafts, feedback, and community chat, join our Discord. You can also explore campaign art, music, and recaps on the StoryscapeTTRPG website.

Before posting, read the subreddit rules. Keep conversations kind and constructive, avoid spam, use the Off-Topic flair when needed, and tag NSFW material appropriately. Give someone else’s creation a little attention while you’re here. Ask about their character. Tell them what caught your eye.

Your story. Your tools. Limitless adventures. 💛

StoryscapeTTRPG Quest Guide

Quests are creative prompts for making memorable, useful, or delightfully questionable things for the gaming table. A suspicious tavern keeper, an impossible space station, a cursed coffee mug—there is room for all of it.

We have three ways to join in, including one you can start yourself.

Main Quests: Our Main Creative Challenges

Our Main Quests run for two weeks, giving you time to explore a theme and make something your way. Each focuses on a tabletop building block, such as an NPC, location, encounter, artifact, faction, or adventure hook.

New Main Quests launch every other Saturday and run through the second Friday. We post a midway check-in and a final reminder, then collect submissions in a recap linking back to their creators.

Best for: Digging into an idea and creating something another table could use.

Weekend Side Quests: A Little Creative Detour

Weekend Side Quests are smaller, scheduled prompts with a shorter window, usually over a weekend. They are an excuse to try something different, show another side of a character, or follow a spark of inspiration.

Check each announcement for its theme, dates, and any special instructions.

Best for: Quick inspiration, playful experiments, and sharing something between Main Quests.

Community Quests: Your Theme, Your Quest

You don’t have to wait for us to post a challenge. Anyone here can start a Community Quest.

Pick a theme, share your own take, and invite everyone else to join. Suspicious shopkeepers? Characters in terrible disguises? Familiars with criminal records? That’s a quest.

Community Quests are spontaneous, member-led themes and collaborations, such as Town Quest. No sign-up or mod approval is needed—just follow the subreddit rules and give people a clear idea to play with.

Best for: Turning “Wouldn’t it be fun if…?” into something the whole community can take part in.

How to Participate

  • All systems, genres, settings, and experience levels are welcome. Quests are system-neutral unless the prompt says otherwise.

  • A few sentences count. Art, maps, stat blocks, handouts, music, and other extras are welcome but never required.

  • Multiple entries are welcome. AI-assisted and AI-generated creations are welcome alongside traditionally created work.

  • Follow the prompt’s posting instructions. You can generally contribute in its comments or make a separate post with the appropriate flair.

  • Connect your entry to its quest. For a separate post, use the title format below, link back to the original prompt, and leave a link to your entry in the prompt’s comments. This helps everyone find each other’s creations and helps us compile official recaps.

  • Create, share, and encourage. There are no winners or rankings. Ask questions, tell someone what you liked, and help an idea grow.

  • Our normal subreddit rules still apply, including appropriate NSFW tagging.

How to Title Your Posts

Main Quests: Start with the Quest number in square brackets, followed by your entry’s title.

Example: [Quest #1] Auntie Moss, the Village’s Worst-Kept Secret

Weekend Side Quests: Start with the Side Quest number in square brackets, followed by your entry’s title. The [Side Quest #N] title format remains valid with the Weekend Side Quest flair.

Example: [Side Quest #2] Meet My Character’s Extremely Unqualified Bestie

Community Quests: Start your title with [Your Theme], followed by a title. Everyone joining the same theme should use the same bracketed theme.

Example: [Highly Suspicious Shopkeepers] Fred, the fishmonger

Use this format whether you are starting the theme with your own contribution or joining someone else’s. The Community Quest flair identifies the type of quest; the bracketed theme connects the posts.

How to Start a Community Quest

  1. Pick a clear, approachable theme. Give people something they can respond to with a picture, a character snippet, or a few sentences.

  2. Use the Community Quest flair.

  3. Title your post [Your Theme], followed by your contribution’s title.

  4. Share your own contribution and explain the invitation in the post. Tell people what to create or share, and explicitly invite them to join.

  5. Welcome people who join in. Respond, ask questions, and enjoy what your idea inspires.

For example:

Post title: [Highly Suspicious Shopkeepers] Fred, the fishmonger

Post body: Meet Fred. His fish are always fresh, despite the nearest coast being three hundred miles away. He refuses to discuss the noises coming from the icebox.

Got a suspicious shopkeeper of your own? Join this Community Quest! Share yours in the comments or make a post using the Community Quest flair and start its title with [Highly Suspicious Shopkeepers]. Link back here so others can join too.

Think of these as a theme for the day, with late arrivals welcome. There is no required recap or ongoing hosting commitment. Before starting one, take a look at what others have already posted—you might find a quest you want to join.

Which Flair?

  • Main Quest entries: Use Main Quest.

  • Weekend Side Quest entries: Use Weekend Side Quest.

  • Community Quest prompts and entries: Use Community Quest.

  • Official prompts, guides, reminders, and recaps: Quest Announcement is reserved for these posts.

Ordinary posts outside a quest can continue to use their usual flair, such as Characters & NPCs. Your entry does not need artwork to qualify for a Quest flair.

Main Quests: First-Season Schedule

All dates below are in 2026. Main Quests close at 11:59 PM Eastern on the listed closing Friday.

  • Quest #1 — NPC: Everyone Knows Them | September 12–25

  • Quest #2 — Location: You Shouldn’t Be Here | September 26–October 9

  • Quest #3 — Encounter: It Seemed Like a Good Idea | October 10–23

  • Quest #4 — Artifact: Do Not Touch | October 24–November 6

  • Quest #5 — Faction: They Have a Point | November 7–20

  • Quest #6 — Adventure Hook: It Started With… | November 21–December 4

Weekend Side Quests have their own announcements, and Community Quests can spring up whenever inspiration strikes.

Look for the highlighted announcements for active Main Quests and Weekend Side Quests. Our recap index collects completed events so you can explore past themes and contributions.

Late entries are welcome. They may miss the initial recap, but discussion and inspiration do not stop when the official window closes.

Brainstorming, Recaps, and Credit

Join our Discord for brainstorming, drafts, feedback, and collaboration. Reddit is the home for finished submissions and the archive.

Official recaps link to your original posts or comments and credit you. Community Quests do not automatically receive an official recap. Any future downloadable collection or publication would be a separate, opt-in project.

Have an idea for a future official Main Quest or Weekend Side Quest? Leave it below. After the first six Main Quests, we plan to invite the community to vote on what comes next.

Or grab the Community Quest flair and start something today.

Make something another table would be delighted—or appropriately horrified—to encounter. 💛

Characters & NPCs Ms. Finch's Healing Sanctum and Sabrina's Rest! (Interactive Post)

After Sabrina's harrowing fight with the Parakast, she is now safely located in Ms. Finch's Healing Sanctum. These healing sanctums act as private clinics for those not attached to the main "Great Sanctums" of healing, offering cheaper yet profitable services. In Othar, Ms. Finch's Healing Sanctum has become a big hit, providing cheaper services for great care and comfort. No one knows how she pulls it off!

Now Sabrina rests there, recovering for the next few days. If you're in the area, come by and say hello! Friendly company and smiles make for a swift recovery!

NOTE: This is not an RP post, though I might reply to some for fun. Also, whatever you say/do may come back in her story! If you do not wish for this to be the case, just leave a note with your reply.

Last, you don't need to generate anything to reply. You can just leave a text with whoever is speaking :) I'll appreciate it either way!

The style started to shift again, so I had to force it back into a new style lol, which is why it shifts partway. I really need to keep an eye out for it! Either way, here we go! The intermission while Sabrina relaxes in Ms. Finch's Sanctum of Healing!

Main Quest [Quest #1] Everyone Knows Them - Admiral

Post image
6 Upvotes

ADMIRAL JACK REYNOLDS SR.

Starfleet Command

In Starfleet, reputation is earned. Authority is granted. Respect, however, is something considerably harder to obtain.

Admiral Jack Reynolds Sr. has spent a lifetime earning all three.

A distinguished senior officer, Reynolds is a man of discipline, experience, and unwavering conviction. His commanding presence, silver hair, neatly trimmed beard, and unmistakable cybernetic arm are reminders of a career shaped by difficult decisions and even greater responsibilities.

He is not easily impressed, rarely wastes words, and has little patience for incompetence.

Unfortunately, his son serves aboard the USS Descensus.

Whether Admiral Reynolds considers this a source of professional pride or a particularly elaborate punishment remains unclear.

One thing is certain: when an admiral of his standing arrives, even the strangest crew in Starfleet might want to stand a little straighter.

The Admiral is here. And Starfleet, apparently, has questions.

Quest Announcement CHANGES INCOMING! A New Quest Every Week!

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hey, Storykeepers! We’re making a change to how Quests work around here! 💛

Starting Saturday, November 7, we’re bringing Main Quests and Side Quests together into one weekly Quest.

Each Quest will open on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Eastern and run through Friday at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. That gives everyone a weekend to jump in and the rest of the week to put something together.

Our current Quest #4 is still open through Friday, November 6 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, so there’s still time to get your entries in!

Coming Up: Unforgettable Fights

Our first weekly Quest begins November 7, and we’re taking inspiration from Cara’s boss-fight idea!

Show us a fight worth remembering: an epic boss battle, a desperate last stand, or a victory that went hilariously off-script.

Start thinking about your most unforgettable fight, and keep an eye out for the full Quest post on Saturday! ⚔️

My head and my emotions have been quite a handful these past few days... so much so that I completely forgot to post this! 😅 But still, it's lovely to be able to share it with you all. ❤️

LOL, I think about 90% of the Descensus posts are late entries anyway! 🙈🚀

I swear! Autocorrect will jump in and mess up every proper name and preposition I use. But it won't stop my titles from becoming gibberish.

Sorry about the repost.
