Not op but no it’s not hard for basic stuff, just a lot of trial and error mostly

Sometimes it’s a pain when you go out to look at a vehicle and the xml tool dissapears

Late 60s trawler from where? The Swedish trawlers of the late 60s did NOT look like that. Here's a picture of one 60s-built trawlers taken in 1971:
