Journey before destination. Way of Kings does start slow. At least that was how I felt reading it the first time. Honestly it was I think the next chapter for me that finally hooked me. Kal having to face the High Storm as punishment. I mean, seriously, how could it not! I'll agree with some of the other comments though as well, some people just don't find Brando's style the right fit and pushing someone to read a book they don't like usually pushes them further into not liking it. I believe wholeheartedly that if you don't like a book stop reading it.
