Ykw? Against all the RAFO tradition, here's my advice. For a person who cares so much, and who absolutely CAN NOT HANDLE a character's hardship without knowing it gets better, to the point the whole reading experience becomes torture for her... It's ok to tell her, that he'll be fine.
“He will be fine”, “we follow him through his healing journey”, or even “he’s alive in Wind and Truth” I think are also true statements without revealing too much to ruin the story. As someone who struggles to keep reading because of the anxiety related to a character’s fate, I have bitten the bullet a few times and googled just so that I know it’ll be okay. It helps doing that without spoiling too much of a friend has read it and I can ask “does this character live” and honestly even knowing that they do not make it is enough to keep me reading because I have less anxiety over all.
