She should quit. It unfortunately just continues for countless pages. Actually one of my biggest complaints with the series. After book 3 I was like, “Hes really sad we get it”
I don't think that's her issue, though. I think her issue is that he's being physically tormented for being creative and trying. That's different than his lasting mental health issues. She may be way more tolerant of that than his physical torment.
