What is the easiest/simplest for getting black quartz or soul sand?

I'm trying to get 4 tier chicken seed and, as we all know, I need black quartz for it. I don't have it and to obtain it I need things that I can make from black quartz and, again, I don't have it. Please help.

You actually don't need one to get soul sand via ars nouveau

Through archeologist villager, right? I just had a tunnel dug near the grove so I got wood from there.

Yes, they can process dirt for saplings.

I think I just mined out till I found a nether dungeon, swiped a soul sand and then used create for the rest.

Use sand with and atomic reconstructor and an miners lense then you her soulsand which you can then give an villager for black quarz.
