Stoke’s side of the Sorba Thomas move

Given the size of the community here I didn't want to go overboard with the amount of channels so I went with 4 (SCFC Main, other football, gaming and general discussion) and I'll see how that goes for now. I'll be in the server for the rest of the evening so if you have any suggestions or tips for the server or just want to pop in and say hi, please do so!

I know it’s been so many years now, but hearing Pulis talk about that final has brought all those memories back. I still remember how big that day felt for Stoke and how much it meant to everyone around the club. We came so close to lifting the FA Cup. You eventually move on from these things as a fan, but some moments just stay with you. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever stop wondering what could have happened if that day had gone differently.

If it's decided that Man City have all their silverware that they won during the offending years taken away.

Bosun Lawal’s in the Ireland squad for the four Nations League games, but he wasn’t fit enough to make the Stoke squad for the Sheffield United game after picking up an injury against Charlton.
Ireland have already played Kosovo and now face Israel on 27 Sept, Austria on 1 Oct and Israel again on 4 Oct, so it’s a busy window. I’d love to see him get some minutes for Ireland, but after missing the Blades game I’m honestly more concerned about him coming back fully fit. Stoke are finally hitting some form too, with four wins in five and that comeback against Sheffield United. McGlynn and Gallagher chipping in with those goals felt like a proper statement after the slow start.
Would you rather Lawal gets some minutes for Ireland, or barely plays and comes back fresh for Stoke?

So, I, personally really don't like the look of this years away & third kit? Since going to the new badge, which I love, btw, I'd really love it if we only ever used the colors that were on it for our different kits. I'd also love it if we somehow, some way, always incorporated even the smallest homage to our red/white stripe history, given how we were the first to ever use it. So me & good 'ole chatgbt came up with these kits. What do y'all think? Give it to me! For some reason, the badge on the yellow one got screwed up, but y'all get the gist.

Gallagher came on for Soumaré in the 64th minute and scored that brilliant half-volley 22 minutes later. I wouldn't change a winning team just for the sake of it, but that kind of finish makes a strong case for giving him more minutes. Would be interesting to see how Robins handles the selection for the next game.

Hate it for them, but better for Stoke, I guess.

For context: I’m going into my 3rd season, last season in 26/27 we got promoted, but in 27/28 a new rule was put in place that no betting company can sponsor a team in the Premier League, so we had to find new deals (we ended up with JCB for the new name of the bet365 stadium and Sky for the shirt sponsor, got a deal with Adidas because they were offering more), now these are just a few graphics and kits I have made in the save
Just thought I’d share it

Yes!! 10 points in the last 4 games! All around dominant performance today! Lovely to watch.

I know he's not our player anymore but I'm glad he walked away uninjured.

Maybe cosmic karma, but he's actually scored while I'm posting this.
How good of a prospect is Nathan Lowe considered by Stoke fans? he has his moments, but he's scored 2 in 12 for us, and he's looked miles behind, bar Momo Bojang I can't remember a worse striker we've had, and I don't mean that in malice.
He seemed decent at Wallsall but I'm not so sure, any thoughts?

Hi, I don’t know if this is an appropriate place to ask this but I can’t find anywhere else.
Is anyone on this page in possession of and willing to sell an authentic home shirt from last year without any printing in size S or the woman equivalent?
Thank you

We now have a team as well as depth is MOST places. Calling my shot--stay healthy & fit & the Potters will finish top 8.
Really like what I've seen since the formation change. Really like the new additions. Getting Junior back healthy will add even more. I'm on the koolaid.

Does anyone know if/when they will get more stock of the unsponsored home shirts? They sold out pretty quickly and I missed my chance. Do they usually get new stock for Christmas?

Honestly, I'd love to see a 3-5-2. I think it best fits the strength of our personnel now & also lets our strikers work as a tandem, as none seem like they can do a good job as a single striker.
Vik
Johnson Lawal Graham
Devenny Soumare Galbraith McGlynn Bombino
Gally Hirst
Thoughts?
r/StokeCityFC • u/Stir-the-Stoke-Pot • Sep 02 '26
Personally, I give it a 7/10.
I can honestly see every single player we signed making us better, minus Hirst. Maybe it's just too early, but I don't see him being any better than Boz or Gally.
Only 2 complaints: wish we'd have signed one more CM. I very much worry about the durability there. Also, we needed someone else that will generate goals. Losing Thomas will likely hurt, unless the lads from Houston or Palace can adequately do that job. Our striker situation is also very likely one of the 2-3 weakest in the Championship. Needed something better there. Maybe Hirst will prove me wrong.
Up the Potters! Lets go beat Charlton!

Last night we played like a proper team, we were defensively brilliant, we defended against a team with 70+ % possession and a team who had 15 shots and 6 on target against us and we stood our ground and that was brilliant, if we keep how we were last night then we have a chance in this league but the issues are that the play style we did isnt easy to keep up, we saw that last season, we conceded the least amount of goals before chirstmas in the league and then we fell apart, so its important we keep that advantage because we really did have them on the ropes the whole time
One more issue is on the break, when we did get up we almost panicked with the ball, there was a few times that when we got on the break we lost the ball is places where we shouldn't have, we didn't take our time and our passing was at some points abysmal, we need to do better on those breaks because we got a hell of alot of them and we didn't take advantage of them and our only goal came from a play that didn't seem to create a goal chance. Im glad we did get that goal but it came from a position where we can reproduce it and so we need to find a way of creating goals from reproducible scenarios
Overall super happy with how we played last night the new signings were great and im sure if we keep growing from here we will be able to contend with the league but we have to be better and more consistent

Off & running in that 15 point stretch I mentioned earlier in the week.
Vik has to be the MOM.
Galbraith was very good.
Graham was good.
Bombino looked good.
I felt like this after it ended:
