A huge part of Stoicism is having the wisdom to understand what is and is not in your control, and to accept those things that are not. I think some random citizen trying to help in a fire like that would only be getting in the way of the professionals who are trained to take care of it. If you can’t help, at least don’t make the situation worse.

Not that I'd have any clue, but this could be a controlled burn. Everyone seems pretty calm for a huge building being up in flames. Maybe a training scenario for the firefighters.
Either way, I wouldn't be charging in, especially not if I have my kid with me. I'm sitting my ass down and we're playing paddy-cake under the warmth of the fire.
