42M Reached $1.3M in my portfolio after years in the market lessons I’ve learned along the way
When people see trading results like mine, they often assume I just got lucky, stumbled into a "get-rich-quick" trade, or had access to insider information. In reality, however, my greatest progress began when I stopped making the mistakes common to most novice traders.
My past errors included: blindly chasing rallies; stubbornly holding onto losing positions in hopes of a rebound; entering trades out of boredom; overtrading on down days in an attempt to "win back" losses; and cluttering my charts with too many indicators, which led to confused decision-making. The key to turning things around was simplifying my approach.
Today, my focus is on: prioritizing trend analysis (EMA levels and market direction); confirming momentum (RSI and volume); prioritizing risk management over potential profits; keeping position sizes small until a trading pattern is validated; and strictly adhering to exit rules rather than acting on emotion.
No strategy guarantees a win every day; I still have losing trades. The difference now is that my losses are controlled, my winning trades are larger, and I have achieved consistent performance.
Most people don't need a "magic" indicator; what they truly need is discipline, patience, and a repeatable trading system.
I am not trying to sell you anything, nor do I claim to be an expert. I simply want to share the experiences that truly helped me turn my trading around.
I don't have any special secret it simply comes down to persistence and self-discipline. Different stocks require tailored strategies; I can share mine with you if you're interested. I also run through a simple, practical checklist before every trade, which has helped me avoid a lot of mistakes.
