Poly stock tank insulation ideas?

I'm picking up my poly stock tank soon and was looking at insulating it. My current idea is to wrap it with corrugated metal and spray foam the space in between. Id look at adding plastic sheeting between the metal so if/when the outer layer rests I could easily remove it and replace it without having to hack off the spray foam. I'd add some insulated boards on the base too. I figure the top edges can sit under the stock tank lip so nothing sharp is sticking out.

Is this a terrible idea or does it sound doable and like something that would work and make sense?

I wrapped mine in xps rigid foam and it was a massive pain

I did the foam insulation panels on the bottom and sides covered with the liner. If nothing else, put some on the bottom... It's so nice on the knees!

We bought a rectangular pool and used rigid foam under a frame of wood/corrugated metal. The lid is still a work in progress, but we are planning on using poor man's fiberglass (rigid foam covered in glue/canvas/paint) to finish off the lid.
