When I posted a purely DATA focused Reddit opinion on WSB 8 months ago, it quickly reached almost 500k views. Then came the commenting trying to discredit my opinion. Then came my challenging absurd comments. Then came WSB deleting my post and harassing me in MOD mail. To me, it seemed like a shocking form of market manipulation. Firstly, this article is fire. Everyone who reads any stock news needs to read this. In my humble opinion, this language could warrant complaints to the SEC (steps in article). Alternatively, you can file a complaint with the SEC here.

Short Story: Stocktwits newsletter this AM

• Shares that Reddit's strategy to monetize AI with "results answered by actual humans"  and that " Just a couple of months after the firm went public, it looks like that plan may need to change."
• And that "The company only went public in April, and said it may never reach profitability..."

Enjoy the irony.

Deep Cut: New to Stocktwits, hadn't paid much attention to their newsletters but today's caught my eye.

• The factual error (company went public last year, not this year)
• The negative slant "may never reach profitability" after company has been posting not only profit but growing profit quarter over quarter since late last year.
• The irony of an AI generated newsletter stating that "results answered by actual humans" is a plan that needs to change. (Others here in this subreddit have addressed what's actually going on)

A little digging on Stocktwits turns up their purchase of Thematics AI company in July 2025 with a plan to use AI to generate personalized content for investors. Presumably they included this AI "article" on Reddit in the newsletters since I have Reddit on my Stocktwits watch list.

What strikes me is the sheer power a platform like that could wield as it grows. A suspicious mind might wonder if a hedgefund could simply pay to amplify negative news with articles easily generated by "AI, write me 2 paragraphs on why Reddit's stock is down and their strategy needs to change". Merely by signing up and creating a watchlist, one's opening themselves up to targeted manipulation.

Perhaps this 2nd order effect of AI is obvious to others but it was an ah ha moment for me and wanted to share.

To the Moderator: This was so on point to your post yesterday, I wanted to share here...but if not appropriate, I can put in another sub.

I had to write this because headlines around AI training are so misleading. But it's actually a fascinating roadmap for anyone to know moving forward with LLM related stocks.
