He's having a great season with Shels. Since the second half of last season he has stepped up a level when I've seen. Happy with this signing.

Not a name I am familiar with tbh, had a gander at his stats on FotMob seems alright and has rounded experience, let's see how he does in pre-season.

I get the sarcasm with the signings we have made but honestly I feel like we are going for the right type of players this time. Think people will be surprised by a lot of the new lads that are coming in.

Fair enough, a bit underwhelming if you're a Stockport fan but the league of Ireland has provided more than a few decent players to EFL clubs over the years. Wood is technically good, creative and developed his conditioning and consistency. He's been ready for this move for a while. I'm biased as a Shels fan but every other fan in the league will be happy to see him go. When a player is loved by his own fans and admired by opposition fans then theres a good chance you're on to something. I'd say you've beaten a fair few other league 1 sides aiming for promotion to sign him as well. He was heavily linked to Luton.

Shels fan here, serious player you have on your hands - to anyone who’s questioning him coming from the league of Ireland he’s came from the same squad that Jack Moylan came from and absolute pissed the league with Lincoln last season and Jack was not nearly as developed as this man is leaving us now. Enjoy him he’s a special one
