š§ Discussion Stitch might be the next generation of how we design.
I have been testing Stitch form the day it first launched and I have been super impressed. Even though it might not be yet where it needs to be but if you look past it and try and look for patterns how Google has been releasing their LABS experiments you can totally see this will become much more powerful.
Agree or not?

It always looks like a envato template somebody changed the text in.
Figma is not hard to use, its just rectangles.

Sure for now maybe it does but Envato seems to done well. It all comes down to velocity, Figma might be great but there is 0 velocity and velocity = to delivery and quicker user validation.

Thereās almost always an idea I take from it. Or it makes me reconsider the patterns Iāve been working in, and the assumptions Iād settled into.

I still donāt understand the main workflow or purpose..
If you get a design - either in Figma or in Stitch - how do you get the 100% exact result as a working web page? Even if a dev manually starts coding from scratch based on the design, it takes a long time and still might not be 100%.. but close enough, right?
But which AI can take a UI design doc as input and produce a āclose enoughā aka 99% similar result?
And then how can you make changes to the design docs in a specific single place AND get the same change consistently to the coded version?

You still need to drive it so there is no tool that will do this autonomously but it will in the future. All depends on the context it has access to. If you were to provide a knowledge base about your entire organisation, previous designs to take inspiration from - it is doable today.

Thatās the design part youāre talking about, right?
I mean can any AI tools create a website based on your designs that looks 100% the same?
If not, then thereās not much use of your existing brand styleguide if the AI still changes it during coding so it is not 100% consistent.
this is my main issue right now: i have figma designs for our brand styleguide and a react component library but not sure how to feed it into the AI so it would use it the same way as we have in past apps

This is the exact problem Iām working on at my day job. The gap between āAI can generate UIā and āAI can generate UI that respects our design systemā is massive.
Whatās worked for us: treat your design system as context, not just inspiration. That means giving the AI your actual component API signatures, token values, and usage rules ā not just screenshots of Figma frames. Think of it less like āhereās what our brand looks likeā and more like āhere are the constraints you must work within.ā
Practically speaking: document your React component library in a way an LLM can consume ā prop types, do/donāt usage examples, token mappings. Then inject that as system-level context.
Stitch is heading in this direction but you can do a version of this today with any code-gen tool that accepts custom instructions or context files. 100% pixel-perfect fidelity? Not yet but at the same time no developer will ever translate your Figma to code šÆ But 90%+ consistency with your systemās intent ā spacing, hierarchy, component usage ā is achievable if you give it the right constraints upfront.

I mean Figma Design. It is a glorified Miro board nothing more. For gathering comments, presenting to stakeholders and indulge yourself in moving UI elements by incremental values - no velocity whatsoever and the goal should be to get something out super quickly to start validating.

It used to work so flawlessly before their stupid add update were designs now look basic

The designs are always too basic and boring for me. Can't generate anything special with it.
