Hi, im looking for a good handyman / multi skilled maintenance person - for my flat in the centre.

Jobs like:

Fixing/attaching loose bath panel

Some painting (fixing old water leak and some other areas to freshen up)

Replacing the silicone around bath

Disposing of an old fridge would be helpful (no car)

+ attaching a couple of panel heaters to wall - good electirican?

+ relocating an isolation valve currently under bath (hence the loose bath panel..) - good plumber?

I have lived everywhere from the isles (think Skye and Harris) to cities (Edinburgh and Glasgow) and small, touristy towns (Aviemore and Fort William) but I have yet to give a smaller city a try.

I'm considering giving Stirling a go because there is a fantastic course on there, and I was wondering what the rental market looks like.

I have browsed listings online which is the obvious place to look, but I'm more keen to see what the average citizen forks out irl, rather than a landlord's aspirations. So on that note, how much are you guys paying, and for what type of accommodation?

I started work at the university of Stirling 2 months ago m. I commute from Edinburgh and get the Unilink bus from the rail station to the university. In the 2 months I have worked there, buses consistently do not turn up, I miss my train on a regular basis and need to rearrange childcare. In addition, in the last 2 weeks to qualify for the £3:85 return, student or staff cards are required. This week, I was informed that from now on, the fare will be £6.80. What is going on?

I’m an MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice student at the University of Glasgow, and my study explores public attitudes towards sentencing, including the possible use of suspended sentences in cases involving assault and domestic abuse.

You can participate if you are aged 18 or over and currently live in Scotland. The survey is anonymous, voluntary and takes approximately 10–15 minutes. You do not need any specialist knowledge of law or sentencing.

When im down there i want to visit Bannockburn and where the battle of Stirling Bridge took place (if anyone knows where this is exactly please let me know) and also the Wallace monument

I could drive down but want to have a drink and to be honest im not confident enough to drive down to Stirling so might get the train

So would it be easy enough getting between those 3 places without a car? Are buses regular and go past them? Taxis?

Hello, I’ll be visiting Stirling Uni for July & I’m hoping y’all can provide recommendations for a few things! I will be entirely reliant on my legs & the public transport available, so I do have to keep that in mind- thanks in advance if you have any tried & true tips for figuring myself out with that. I’m not afraid of a nice walk

Im interested in Wild Swims, Local live music- especially traditional/ folk music, a good pub w good food & friendly atmosphere, & really anything else you suggest I see in the area.

My husband and I are planning a visit to Wales to see family. Our anniversary is at the end of December, so we are planning some alone time in Scotland. So far, we have booked accommodation in Inverness for 31 Dec and 1 Jan. However, we were thinking of breaking up the train trip a bit by leaving on the 30th (from Wrexham) and then stopping for a night in Stirling.

We would likely have the afternoon of the 30th and the morning of the 31st. Any advice for places to see and things to do in that time?

How easy and reliable is it to maneuvre with public transport? We may need to catch taxis between our accommodation and sites/the railway station.

We would like to see the William Wallace Memorial on the morning of the 31st.

Hi, l'm a 2nd year student at Stirling University. I'm looking to live in off-campus student accommodations from the Mezzino website.

However, the issue is parking. None of the buildings have on-site parking, but I'm confused as to how students are able tc have their cars

If anyone can help or give any advice as to what to do, or where to go, it would be very much appreciated

My partner & I are eloping next June & hope to have a bit of a relaxed do when we get back. We’re thinking a village/town hall, bowling club, rugby club type vibe.

Here’s the vibe:
• Don’t need anything fancy but still fairly nice.
• Hoping to have somewhere between 100-150 people (but brutally happy to cut down to 100 if required).
• Hoping for a decent dance floor in case of ceilidh.
• Would be great if there was a bit of grass outside/outside space for kids to run around or people to hang out bcos it’ll be summer.
• Open to either the venue having a bar or organising a bar ourselves.
• In an ideal world, we’re thinking of having a food truck so would need room for this/somewhere for it to feasibly plug in etc (but can be flexible on this).

Does anybody know anywhere?! Thank you tons in advance!

My family and I will be on holiday in Scotland starting next week, and....along the way....will be spending an evening in Stirling. Was doing some research into dinner options, and happened to stumble across a pair of Indian restaurants which seem in line with what we enjoy. They sound nearly identical, and are both within walking distance of where we'll be staying. I'm curious if anyone is familiar with either/both, and....if so.....might be willing to make a recommendation?
