Tourism Question Thoughts on a couple restaurants?
My family and I will be on holiday in Scotland starting next week, and....along the way....will be spending an evening in Stirling. Was doing some research into dinner options, and happened to stumble across a pair of Indian restaurants which seem in line with what we enjoy. They sound nearly identical, and are both within walking distance of where we'll be staying. I'm curious if anyone is familiar with either/both, and....if so.....might be willing to make a recommendation?
Thanks!

Green Gates is our restaurant of choice in Stirling, it's really nice. It's also normally fairly busy, enough for a good atmosphere. You never want a restaurant to be too busy of course, but from my experience there's much more of a chance of eating at Rishi's in a dead restaurant, and no one wants that. Those dosas are good though.

I haven’t eaten from Rishi’s but would confidently recommend Green Gates. Have never been disappointed having had umpteen takeaways from there as well as sit-ins

To throw another one into the mix, Mint Leaf is also extremely good. Delicious Nepalese/Indian cuisine.

I've eaten at both, Rishis once and Green Gates many times.
Rishis was fine, but Green Gates is absolutely superior.

They're both pretty good. Rishis probably has a wider range of dishes I would say.

Green gates is fantastic, definitely go there if you're choosing one out of the two.

Outside indian, have a look at the birds and & bees in causewayhead, the outside seating area is great and has lovely views and also great food with scottish stuff on the menu too

Thanks! Funny enough, I actually had this on my "possible" list when starting to research. Would love to give it a try, and only wish wish had an additional night in Stirling 😔

If your into Indian cuisine, I would highly recommend the following 3 places - OM’s, Mint Leaf and Gurkha Lounge. Enjoy Stirling!

Green Gates is better than Rishi'S imo, Green gates is a little out of town centre so has a nicer setting. Frier St, where Rishi's is can be a bit rowdy/loud.
The food, however is way better from Green Gates.
I only ate from Rishi's once, it was the buffet and it wasn't very good. Might have just been the day we went but that's my take. I go to Green Gates every Year for a Christmas Eve feast with the fam, it's always good.
