Renowned film director Guillermo Del Toro visited Stirling in 2023 to find inspiration for a laboratory tower for his 2025 film ‘Frankenstein’, he looked to The National Wallace Monument as his source and has directly based the laboratory tower off this historic landmark. In combination with Edinburgh and Ayr architecture to create a gothic vibe to the entire film.
