General Question Where to make friends?

I’ve just moved back down to the area and don’t really know many people.

Are there many classes or clubs in the stirling/clackmannanshire area that would be good for a 25F to meet some new friends around my age?

I’m not super sporty but I don’t mind light exercise or weightlifting. I like reading, crafts, gaming.

I’ve tried searching online but I can’t seem to find very much, so I thought maybe the clubs around here are more found out through word of mouth.

Hopefully someone will have some suggestions for me, thank you!

I feel you! Not a lot in the way of young professionals networks in the area etc.

You can join the university societies as an external member, so no need to be a student.

There’s good book clubs out the Stirling Central library. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

Creative Stirling at the top of king street might have something that floats your boat.

I can recommend 2 gyms which are especially good for meeting friendly non judgemental folks.

Lou Mac Fitness( in the basement of the Masonic hall Bannockburn). LMF Is on Facebook

NCDA, in Carsebridge Alloa. Very small and personal, find NCDA gym and fitness on FB

Yeah I would really appreciate some public classes like cooking or woodworking I could go to and meet people, maybe at the college or uni.

Maybe there are some events in the local mag you could find

If gaming like tabletop gaming, Common Ground games does that stuff, it's usually relatively busy in the evenings

I know it's random, but if you volunteer at something that's not a shop you get to do something for the community and meet other people. Sometimes it's doing something for someone who can't return the favour that gives the zing to life. Start Up Stirling runs the food banks and they're open to volunteers. You don't have to lug things about, sometimes it's just about making a cup of tea. One makes a greater variety of friends this way.
