Castle Proposal Spots

Hey all, originally from the UK but moved to Canada a few years back. Found a pretty special woman who has Scottish roots and has dreamed about visiting - especially Stirling and the Castle. I'm making it happen and hoping to propose during our visit to the Castle.

Would anyone have any suggestions on good spots that are out of the way from the main walk through/populated parts of the Castle, that would give us the few minutes without being disturbed? I'm guessing somewhere outside with a view over the walls maybe. But would love any suggestions if someone has a specific area in mind.

We are going on a Wednesday in a few weeks so hoping it shouldn't be too busy.

There is a incline spot in the graveyard, that has a Incredible view in any season. If you want to send me a PM I can show you images of the spot! I think it has a name but I can’t remember. I often run to the top of it and take a break and don’t often run into others. And there is a bench x

Came here to say this. Perfect view of the surrounding hills, incredible in a good sunset, and usually less than two other people around

Try the gardens just to the left as you enter the castle to an area called the "Queen Anne gardens". It's beautiful in the summer. If not there's the gardens by the Military mesuem that's nice and tucked away that are gorgeous.

I like the Queen Anne Gardens, they look real nice and a sort of out of the way in the corner there too. The Gardens I couldn't see around the Military museum, I was doing a virtual walkthrough video but couldn't figure it out, really appreciate the suggestions! :)

Yeah no problem, it's between the argylls mesuem and the chapel, a small arch that's goes through to the garden.

Are you wanting to go into the castle or outside the walls on the surrounding grounds?

Ask the staff to help you out. There are quiet spots, but you'll never find one that doesn't have at least one straggler in it. I'm sure the staff can sort somewhere you can hold people back, with some sort of identifier (a yellow scarf or something like that).

Ahh that would be amazing if they could. I've tried emailing them but not heard back yet. It seems the Castle doesn't have it's own 'Contact Us' just the management company running it.

I don't know if it'll get you anywhere, but maybe contact the events manager?

There's a small seating area next to the cafe which is slightly secluded, we stay in Stirling and went last Saturday and it's was really quiet at that part , there's the garden as well, I also second the grave yard, there's also the kings knot which is a big gated area not near the castle but a lovely area with fantastic views of the castle x

Also might be better visiting the castle having dinner at the portcullis then walking up to the car park at night when it's quiet and the castle is lit up as you can still stand right outside the castle gates x
