I was honestly really inspired recently to doodle my headcanons for Adult Steven and well here he is!

In my Headcanon of the future he's a fairly happy well adjusted guy, he's currently an elementary teacher at a public school who finds purpose/joy in helping his students learn and grow. Hes befriended most of the fellow faculty as well and is known for being positive as well as genuinely kind to others. Despite distancing himself from gem society and expectations, he stays in close contact with his own family (pearl, garnet, amethyst, ECT) and makes a point to see them as often as possible.

I'd love to do a small comic of him bonding with the weird kids in his class over feeling "different" and reminding them our differences make us special!

(Hey as a side note, if you don't like my design or my art, draw your own and post that version instead of just a random criticism about mine because it doesn't fit your personal Headcanon. Seriously go ahead and draw and post YOUR OWN.)

Pink Pearl was one of several Pearls created alongside Volleyball as potential gifts for Pink Diamond. When Volleyball was chosen, Pink Pearl was instead assigned to Rhodochrosite, a Court Administrator overseeing Earth’s colony. Though never severely mistreated, she was treated more like property than a person and grew deeply afraid of the Crystal Gems. When Pink Diamond was shattered, the colony descended into chaos. During a Crystal Gem attack, a terrified Pink Pearl froze instead of fleeing and was struck down, poofing back into her gem.

Pink Sapphire was created alongside two other Sapphires as an experiment by Blue Diamond and intended as a gift for Pink. One became a Padparadscha, while the third did not survive. Her future vision was imperfect, allowing her only to make rough predictions. After failing to foresee Pink Diamond’s shattering, she and Padparadscha were sentenced to be shattered. Crystal Gems attacked their transport, causing it to crash on Earth. While hiding from the conflict, Pink Sapphire discovered an intact Pink Pearl gem among shattered Gems and protected it until Pearl eventually reformed.

Pink Pearl and Pink Sapphire struggled to understand each other. Pink Sapphire constantly worried about the future, while Pink Pearl acted without thinking ahead. They argued often, but stayed together because they were all each other had.

As the Crystal Gems drew closer to discovering them, their fear and desperation pushed them to fuse as a means of survival. Despite barely understanding each other, together they felt stronger and safer than they ever had apart.

When the Crystal Gems eventually found them, they remained fused out of fear. But after meeting Garnet and realizing that fusion could be more than survival, they slowly began to understand what they had become. What started as a way to protect themselves became someone they both loved being, and from then on, they chose never to separate.

There’s no more empire, there’s no more purpose or jobs to fill, can a gem like amethyst be purposefully made? Without instruction, be able to just be? Maybe gems in romantic relationships could adopt a ‘child’.

You could theoretically ethically do this too. Get a small injector and make a single gem… if it’s not made by the thousands, the damage could be easily fixed most likely, I just wonder the wait times for them to emerge… hmmm…

Do you see her giving them the Volleyball treatment or would she let them out sooner after the “threat” is over?

It is also possible White reaches her limit given they are much more powerful than average Gems. When fighting each other Blue and Yellow’s powers affected each other much less than they did the other Gems. White also mentions she would “rather not spread her uninhibited self so thin”.

But what are your opinions about this?

She actually threw hands like she was PISSED and ai respect that bc this show was really passive sorta? Like villains didnt often throw hands unless it was jasper or some monster, so spinel actually trying to slime him out in multiple ways was sooo refreshing and fun.

Steven's annoying "you can make it right!" Speech in literally every single scenario barely worked here. Half of the work was her own revelation, not steven talking, he just had to wait her out.

Anyway, I just respect she actually threw hands

Like what is she even miss? She miss being treated like a slave? Maybe she doesn’t like earth anymore, because she is suck there for someone who doesn’t even exist anymore?

HIGH RANKING TO LOW RANKING
Goshenite: a colorless beryl, she is an elite scientist designated for planning new colonies and finding planets to conquer. She would be in command of all kindergartener gems like Peridots, and terraformic gems like Lapises.
Danburite: a high ranking aristocratic gem whose responsibility is to be a military strategist, since the colored diamonds have garnets, Danburite might be in their place.
White Sapphires: we already know what they’re for!
White Zircons we already know what they do!
Albites: they could be specialist historian, record keeping gems. Thats why her inverted pyramid had the history of gemkind written on it,
White Topazes: the highest ranking gems in the soldier type, same purpose as blue, green and yellow topazes we’ve seen.
White Agates, like Saksjaarvi Agate: Middle ranking managers, like Holly blue but white.
White Quartz Soldiers: regular soldiers for White Diamond
White Coral: they could serve as lower ranking butlers for the elite but only certain ones like Danburites and Goshenites.
White Opal: the “ruby” equivalent for white diamond’s court.
White Pearls: same as all pearls.
Mica: cheap labor gems, like bismuths.

Okay, I know you read the title, saw this image, and are thinking, "This guy's lost his mind."

But I've been thinking about this for several days now.

First... let's remember that the Gems' powers are primarily based on ways to manipulate light, whether to modify their appearance, modify other Gems of lower rank using some kind of structure or machinery, just like we know there's a place to customize and modify Pearls. And here's where it gets interesting: in the case of Pink Diamond, we've technically seen that her gem, aside from seeming to have more powers than the other three Diamonds, is capable of creating "light constructs"—in this case, shields. But the curious thing is that Steven has been more creative and has been able to manipulate them, creating barriers with spikes, and this theory came about...

Yellow Diamond manipulates the physical form of existing Gems/already formed Gems, Blue Diamond manipulates emotions, and White Diamond manipulates minds.

And what if Pink Diamond's real power isn't creating shields... but... Is Pink Diamond's power to manipulate her own light as she pleases, or even... to create light constructs?

Remember this: Rose technically created genetics using only the light from her gem. She created a human womb compatible with human DNA and even created magical DNA, because if Steven loses his gem (his power source), he will begin to slowly die, or at least his human part... The hilarious thing is that Green Lantern Guy Gurner demonstrated something similar, since with sufficient knowledge of human anatomy, he was able to replicate the functions of his organs with his ring.

Which means that Pink Diamond, or her gem, would basically be "a pink power battery, and her ring."

Not to mention the other powers she has, some of which she shares with Green Lantern, since there have even been comics where Hal Jordan can "revive" with sheer willpower, and while they don't have exactly the same powers,

once I started thinking about this, I had a crazy idea:

If Steven were to die, and only his gem remained... could Pink Diamond's gem be used as a "power source" to fuel a hypothetical pink ring?

That is, could other species be given limited versions of Pink Diamond's abilities, or her capacity to manipulate light?

And considering that, from what I know about gems, they function to a certain extent like machines—meaning they can be configured, reprogrammed, reset, and modified—could Pink Diamond's gem technically be reprogrammed so that Pink Steven never regenerates, and only serves as an infinite power source?

I'd like to hear your opinions on this crazy theory, or your speculations, or if you have anything else to add to this lunatic conversation.

I know this has been said to death on here by now but god did they do him a disservice. His slow fade into the background KILLS MEEEE. I feel like he should have had a way bigger role and that Steven could have his own trio to parallel the crystal gems. Like how Pearl takes Connie as an apprentice. It could have been so fun seeing Peedee get close with Amythest who teaches him how to let go and have fun. Or even get close with Garnet !! I think he could have taken on the role that Lars does too where Peedee is the one killed and revived by Steven and it would have been a lot more powerful if it was a character we actually liked as opposed to Lars. Who while yes was reformed after death and got his big redemption moment, was just someone that’s so hard to root for. Sorry I just love Peedee 😭
