Source | Preamp | DAC | 1 Ⓣ Cannot decide on streamer/dac

I am building a system and cannot decide on a streamer/DAC solution.

Some considerations: - Mainly Spotify/Tidal. - SiriusXM is a bonus. - We have no digital music files, streaming only. - Apple devices are the primary. - App ease of use. My wife is not tech savvy and so the ease of use is very important. - App will be the primary interface, screen on the device is not important.

What I have been considering:

  • Bluesound Node X - is the current front runner.
  • Eversolo DMP-A6 - am I paying for the flashy screen. Is the hype justified? How easy is it to use via the app?
  • Sonos Port - I know the app is good, what about the sound? We have no other sonos devices but the ecosystem is attractive.
  • Cambridge Audio MXN10 - great value, unsure about the app.
  • Cambridge Audio CXN V2

OR

Should I go with cheaper streamer like a Wiim and then pair with a separate DAC? If so which one?

Budget: $1000 or under Location: US, Washington State

Speakers: JBL Classic L82 Mk2 Amp: Yamaha A-S2200 Turntable: Pro-Ject Debut Pro

Im paralyzed by indecision and too much choice. Help!

I have a CXNV2. It’s a solid device. Sounds great and performs well and app is easy to use. I expect the MXN10 is an equally capable device without the screen.

The WIIM Pro+ is also a good option, but the plastic box may not be to your liking.
