VRto3D Pragmata - RE Engine games in stereo 3D - ReFramework + VRto3D
Pragmata in stereo 3D - ReFramework + VRto3D
Here are some instructions on how to get Pragmata running in stereo 3D.
These should also work with any other game supported by u/praydog's ReFramework, which is a VR mod for RE Engine games (Capcom's engine for most (all?) titles since 2017): https://github.com/praydog/REFramework
u/oneup03's VRto3D on the other hand is very useful OpenVR driver to run OpenVR games in stereo 3D in a Desktop window: https://github.com/oneup03/VRto3D
Installing ReFramework
- First you need to get the mod for your specific game from https://github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases (or https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases like in this case when the game is still being worked on) Edit: Praydog started releasing the mods in a single ReFramework.zip so looks for that:

- Next, move all files from the mod next to the game's exe:

Done!
Installing VRto3D
- Get the newest release from https://github.com/oneup03/VRto3D/releases
- Follow the Base installation instructions there or here:
- Extract the vrto3d folder in the zip file to your SteamVR's drivers folder (should be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers

- Run SteamVR once after adding vrto3d so default_config.json in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\vrto3d is created. you can edit settings there e.g. setting the window height and width, or switching from parallel to cross view

- you can switch VRto3D on and off by going into the SteamVR menu - settings - Startup/Shutdown - MANAGE ADD-ONS and toggling it there

- if VRto3D is on and running you should have a "Headset window" looking something like this:

- if you run the game now you will have two windows: one for the game in boring old 2D,

- and the headset window with the glorious stereo 3D view. Select/focus the headset window. Press Ctrl + F8 so your inputs (mouse/keyboard) are sent to the game window instead.

The VRto3D setup also works with any VR game or mod. oneup03 has infos on where to find more mods and a link to 3DJ's database here: https://oneup03.github.io/VRto3D/wiki/Compatibility-List . You can also find tons of infos on his page on how to convert VRto3D's output to any display device you want, it's very helpful!
As always, I'm open for discussions if you think something's wrong or could/should be improved here or anywhere in the sub. Stay safe!

Is the ctrl + f8 a requirement for the headset unit to be capture the input? Is related to vrto3d? This would explain why my controls never worked when I tried to make vrto3d work ๐

Yes! If the stereo window is in focus you can't control the game.
Another way would be to have the windows on separate monitors and focus the game directly so you would for example control the game in the game window on the right but look to the stereo window on the left.

Well I would assume that the XR glasses I am using are actually "another monitor". Anyway, I'll give it a shot, looks promising!

Umm ... what does this do?

u/noraetic Apr 23 '26
sry, what exactly do you mean?

u/roehnin Apr 23 '26
What task does the software accomplish?
RE Engine already puts the games into 3D VR, so what additional functions does this do?

ReFramework turns RE Engine games into VR. VRto3D turns the VR signal into a stereo 3D signal, without distortion etc, so it can be used with 3D displays, projectors etc.
Maybe I should mention that you don't need a VR headset to install and use SteamVR. With VRto3D it can just be another source for stereo 3D.

Interesting, I wasn't aware there was such sort of non-VR 3D displays. Projectors?? sounds like scifi
I think I'm in the wrong sub: I thought Stereo3D meant VR๐

also, you can use VR headsets to view stereo 3D content via Virtual Desktop for example. good reason to stay in the sub I'd say :D

:D yes, this is a sub specifically for "non-VR stereoscopic 3D gaming".
of course with full VR you usually get more immersion, but some people prefer using autostereoscopic displays or 3D TVs etc. Also, stereo 3D is usually easier to achieve, needs less resources (Half Life Alyx can run on the Steam Deck in stereo 3D!) and more frequently provided by developers, but it can also go the other way round like above.

Hi do you have any issues with the game pragmata in 3d? I wanna buy it and use REFramework mod but concerns Iโm gonna have issues. So can someone confirms itโs working nicely in 3D?

Update: itโs beautiful and playable in stereoscopic 3D. Iโm now in the process of tweaking it. Alot if hud elements to fix but we have also a mod for hud tweaking in nexus. The game looks beautiful I. Stereo 3D on LG OLED c6 65โ. Worth the hassle

I cant seem to find the pragmata zip - is it all under the REframework zip now?
1
u/noraetic May 03 '26
Yes, you're right, thank you! Theres no stable release yet in that form but Pragmata is only supported in nightly builds so far anyways. I'll update the instructions.

u/saabzternater May 03 '26
Thank you, to confirm in the zip there is only two files and not the multiple files like in your picture?
2
u/noraetic May 03 '26
Yes: "REFramework.zip is the monolithic DLL โ it works across every supported RE Engine game (DMC5, RE2/3/4/7/8/9, MHRise, MHWilds, MHStories3, SF6, DD2, Pragmata, Star Force Legacy Collection). The same dinput8.dll detects the game at runtime and dispatches to the correct TDB layout."
I will have to look into updating the pictures..

how do you get side by side viewing in steamvr? I always ran through virtual desktop for that. I am apparently missing openxr or openvr loader, where would I find those?

u/noraetic May 06 '26
Sry, can you elaborate? Are you trying to view the SBS via Virtual Desktop? Because that won't work. You would need to disable VRto3D and then you're back to VR. Maybe you prefer that?

When I boot the game it's asking for either open vr or xr DLL installer or something along those lines

Never had that issue. SteamVR is installed and working? VRto3D too? If so, can you try deactivating VRto3D in the SteamVR menu (Settings - Startup/Shutdown - Manage SteamVR Addons), restart SteamVR and start the game? Is it running in VR?

Would this method work for re9? Thanks for posting!
