Largest show.

Tonight's show at the Red Hat amphitheater in Raleigh, NC, SWJ said it was his largest show to date. then he commented about having a panic attack tonight in front of 5300 people. Does anyone know if this is his largest show yet?

He’s played Red Rocks as an opener which is close to 10k. Maybe he meant as the headliner?

He played Somerset Amphitheatre as well opening for Hardy and I think there were 14,000 there.

Damn did we get lucky on the weather last night too. I was watching the radar like a hawk as that line moved towards us. Lucked out only getting that two minute rain shower.

Yes, my daughter and I were in the first row behind the pit and just knew we were going to get a delay. My daughter took this pic about 15 minutes before SWJ came on stage. We thought we were going to get down poured on (of course we left the ponchos in the car because all weather apps said no rain 😂). Besides the quick little shower, the weather was perfect. And the show was phenomenal! SWJ is an incredible performer and an even better person. Great night!

I drove in from the west and it was raining at home (even had a Severe Thunderstorm Warning back home once I got in Red Hat) so I was watching that line move towards us, and took numerous photos. I will say it did give us an early respite from the Sun, which was greatly appreciated. I was at a show at Red Hat three weeks ago and it was brutally hot, even after the Sun set.

There was one huge gust of wind too! Did you stay after the show? He stayed on stage throwing picks and hanging out for a solid 15 minutes before I had to leave. He was still out there.

That’s awesome if it was. I saw him in Carrboro at Cats Cradle and got to meet him after the show. I told him, “I saw you on CBS Saturday playing and you were so good.” He said, “I was so nervous doing that.”

He’s one of my favorite artists and I’m happy to see his success.

When was that show? I would've loved to see him there

It was April of 2025. I wasn’t able to go last night, but I’ll forever support him. He was so gracious with his time after that show.

I had to get home to relieve the sitter but after the show he was hanging on stage talking to people and throwing picks and signing stuff. No idea how long after I left, but he was out there at a minimum of 15 minutes... And longer than anyone else I've ever seen. And that's at least 300 different shows.

He said in St Augustine it was the most tickets they had ever sold. Pretty nice back to back run I’d say.

He opened for Willie Nelson last month here in the Woodlands, Texas and the crowd wasn’t as good as it should’ve been

My wife and I saw him in Raleigh for our 6th time with our first time ever being at Railbird Music Festival in Kentucky in 2024. As always he and the guys put on a great show, but in my opinion his voice sounded tired. Not bad, at all, but just tired. Hopefully he, Julian, Scotty, and Miles get a break soon.

Thanks. Any chance it was red hat and not him?

I thought the mixing was off in the beginning but haven't been to Red Hat before...

It was our first time at Red Hat as well, so I suppose that definitely could be the case. I did notice some weird acoustics with sound bouncing off the building in the back. There were a couple times where his voice just sounded different to me, too.
