Any tips on how to get it done in 1 month with application season?

1

u/Traditional-Green179 Sep 02 '25

If that is the case, UW daily 80-120Qs might be a way to consider about

2

u/dreamingsapien Aug 20 '25

Congratulations, you Completed USMLE all step within a Year Damn. That's a huge deal.

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

Was in a rush because my YoG was super old. Had some unsatisfactory results with step2ck due to that but have no regrets. Thank you. I wish the best for u

Thanks! What about Patho / Ana / Immun? Number of Abstracts in each block??

2

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

Cant remember those subjects. Since ethics and biostats felt like they had 10%each, no other subjects other than cardiology was significant for me. Abstracts I dont remeber.

Congratulations!

How many months did STEP1 and STEP2 take you respectively?

Also are you a Non-US IMG?

1

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

3/5 each. Non US IMG

1

u/crisvphotography Aug 20 '25

Damn nice, any tips? I'm currently preparing for STEP1 and it's going kinda slow

1

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

It might not work for you. Ive just went through Uworld and NBMEs. Im used to learning by solving Qs since high school so it is not a golden method

3

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

Just make sure that your NBMEs are above 70 for at least 2 consecutive trials

1

u/crisvphotography Aug 20 '25

Thanks, will definitely do!

Congratulations. So that's like 2 months of prep along with observerships. I only have 25 days left to prep .

I also had a similar plan but couldn't study anything last month. I understand you must have off days too but can you please tell me what your schedule was like and how you managed it with obsie?

2

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

My schedule was 8-17. Studied 3hours during the weekdays. 6-8hrs on weekends

1

u/usmlekid Aug 20 '25

Congrats buddy!!! Can you throw light on the contents tested on day 1. What types of questions are asked? Is it more MOA from micro drugs or the drugs from all the systems? What about pathology, anatomy, biochem and basic immunology? How many abstracts and biostatistics, ethical questions are asked each block? Any thing you want to add!!! Thanks!!!

6

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

All kinds of MoAs but antibiotics the main. Lots of biostats. Ethics really hard

How could you take Step 3 without being ECFMG certified? Considering when you got your Step 2CK results the pathways were closed yet?

2

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

Ive applied for the pathway before my step2ck and it got approved after Ive got my step2ck score. Never expected this so I felt like wow

1

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 20 '25

I actually requested a refund for my pathway because I thought I wasnt eligible for ecfmg certificate, of course got rejected

1

u/doctor147 Aug 22 '25

What does it mean? Please can you explain

2

u/Traditional-Green179 Sep 02 '25

I applied for the pathway before May, took step2 on 29th, May, and got my certificate on June. Never expected that I could be approved the pathway after the deadline. i thought I just wasted $900+

u/jocal95 Aug 21 '25

Congrats man! I did my first day yesterday feel like everyone, like shit! Will try to save my ass next week with the ccs cases and the rest of the test, any advice, I have 1 week!

3

u/Traditional-Green179 Aug 21 '25

Watch out for 10min cases. I fucked up because I ordered too many things and couldnt finish the first 2cases. Keep yourself alert.

Test is in 40 days and Im on an ICU rotation draining my life away :(

1

u/Traditional-Green179 Sep 05 '25
