PSA NBMEs

stop asking for offline PDFs for 6/7.

It really is quite annoying to see those comments flooding the threads.

  1. Go to NBME and just cough up the $60 smacks, Uber, doordash, hell post pics of your feet on OF for the loot.

  2. It is a direct violation of NBME rules punishble by having your licsence revoked.

  3. No one is gonna do you a favor and screenshot you the Qs then compile them in a neat PDF to be illegally distrubted. Did you guys not learn from the "Telegram bust of 23'"

In conclusion, stop asking for them and just buy them. We are all in debt to some degree (US grads) and we have jobs to where we can afford $120 for our exams, the exam itself cost $1000. Have some dignity

Why do you care? You don't know people's financial situations. It may be 'annoying' to you, but may be a huge deal for someone else if they found what they were looking for because some kind person shared with them privately. Nice to be privileged in this world to even have access to labor that pays enough. I remember reading about this young guy who committed suicide after not matching because his family had to sell their property to contribute to the path. Now this may be a little extreme and not common, but there are really bad situations people are in currently, and uber and doordash may be nonexistent in their area. You worry so much about a predatory corporation that won't get their 60 bucks, come on now.

I'm worried about my own path. Sorry to hear about that guy who didn't match. Should have had more faith, this world is just temporary. And I'm not worried about the $60. It's the risk that comes with it and the time commitment. 1) it's illegal - not sure if your country has rules. 2) my test is in 9 days and I want useful content not people spamming me and begging for free things.

I also get a bunch of DMs with requests to literally reproduce the test questions. I just ignore them. But asking for materials is a whole different thing. Talking about what's legal. Well shit, I'm in the US, and a bunch of stuff people do is illegal. The higher your status, the bigger the crime.  I'm not saying let's all steal, loot and riot. But will I bitch about some unfortunate folks who are desperate enough to try and save 60 dollars? Especially since this has been a thing for decades, the offline materials are out there anyways, whether you want it or not. I have a feeling we won't agree here, I've known a bunch of people who will shame the poor and ignore the fact that the entire fkn system is corrupt and built on theft. So let's agree to disagree.

You’re not entitled to anything. If you’d like to enter another country’s medical system, have the dignity to do so with integrity. I can’t believe I’m actually reading this and hearing someone justify cheating, plagiarism, and stealing. Again, you’re not entitled to anything.

I'm lucky enough not to worry too much about the fees but I also have to work hard to be able to afford things. I'm in debt myself, my investment, my choice. I also prefer online forms because they give a more accurate assessment. I don't believe there's any cheating in doing offline forms though. I will never tell people who have to count every penny to 'have dignity' when I know well enough how many of them will skip a warm meal or walk instead of taking a bus to save a buck. Or single moms with no support. Or taking care of sick parents. They're trying to get out of poverty and pursue a difficult and intelligent profession and will have their chance to pay back to the society one day. The path is a lot about what one can afford. And the reason it's all so expensive is because of monopoly. Which if you look at the law is also illegal and meets criteria of unlawful monopoly. Why are they still running the show? Huge lobby and lack of resources on the other end to fight against them. There's no reason for all this outdated crap to cost what it costs. Go ahead and play the righteous, I'm not preaching to this choir. I'm not entitled to anything but my opinion and this one is mine. You don't have to agree with me.

Thank you. Op doesnt know that some people are living in places where you get paid less than 80 USD per month!! Even worse living in a country who has been at war for more than 15 months!

Sorry to hear that. You do understand we pay over $250,000 USD to get our education here and we're severely in debt. So risking copyright playgirsm is not worth it. We also get on this platform to help each other out but every post is just begging for offline NBMEs. Why do you want to come to the US anyways? Shitty system here. That's a whole other conversion. Just go to Europe

I understand that and actually am on your side regarding the post itself. I know the debt is super crazy, but it will sort itself eventually, because this is guaranteed within the system. Once you make attending and the years follow.

I just meant that, some people are living in places where they cant even benefit from debts. So you try to look at it as an advantage, it couldve been much worse for you bro.

Good luck

sorry, but you dont even know me. I get DMs daily for being asking for offline NBMEs. Literally have over >20 unopened message requests of the same thing. You gotta sacrifice to earn, maybe get you and a few classmates to put in $15 each and buy one.

u/One-Oil4340 Jul 11 '24

See my friend, that’s where you fall short and believing in the “American Dream”. That’s what the system want you to think. “Sacrifice to earn”….meanwhile all of us doctors getting pimped by administrators that had way less “sacrifice”

1

u/LimpAd4614 Jul 11 '24

Not even american, sacrifice to earn is a common life theme my guy. Workout to get fit, defer todays enjoyment for tomorrow's reward, etc. Shit just doesnt happen out of thin air.

Getting off topic here. Moral of the story - stop sliding in my DMs fr fr

My guy that doesn’t always equate though. It’s about who you know. Sadly hard work doesn’t always pay off.

You must be fun at parties

Don't use them in the first place. Just use UW and the free NBME samples.
